I'm not sure about Conan sitting in with any bands. Not that it's not possible, but we'll have to see once the schedule comes out. If he's doing comedy in the Comedy Theater as well as MCing the What stage, he might already be going back and forth a lot. If the Dead Weather (or whoever) is playing the same time he's got a comedy show, well that's out. Also depends on how late he stays each day. Zach came out latenight with MMJ but Conan might not necessarily stick around after his MCing duties are fulfilled on the What stage.
Who really knows? That's one of the best things of Bonnaroo.

I've personally seen Conan play "We're Going to be Friends" and "The Weight" by the band while rehearsing his old Late Night Show. Here's what I posted in another thread when Conan at Roo was just a rumor.
The coolest thing I've ever seen Conan do:
Back when he was still on the Late Night show in NYC, I got to visit the set of the show because my mom went to high school with the head sound guy for that show. The guy that works all the controls up in his booth that control all the mics and levels and all that.
So anyway, I get to hang out with him in the audio studio because my mom told him about how I was going to school for media production and this was possibly a field I was interested in. My mom and friend and sister got to sit in the audience and watch the recording of the show but I was upstairs in the audio booth with the head audio guy. ( I got to meat Joel Goddard the announcer while up there and it was just great. So nice).
On to the cool part. While Conan was doing his joke run through.....sorta like a dress rehearsal....he was strumming a guitar the whole time. It was really just a time to go through jokes and make last minute changes. While he would be waiting for stuff and joking around inbetween segments he started playing the White Stripes "I Can Tell We Are Gonna Be Friends" and he was doing it really well. It was really awesome. Then at one point he starts playing the Band song "The Weight".....and as he does that my mom's high school friend/sound guy says "check this out"....and goes to his computer and clicks on his itunes. Then in the television studio speakers for Conan to hear (I'm watching this on a monitor) the Band's version of "The Weight" starts up and Conan starts playing along.
it was the coolest thing I've seen that not many people get a chance to. I would be so sad if Conan came to Roo this year since I'm missing it.

Agreed. As awesome as it was to see Chris Rock live and as funny as he was......I expected at least 3 or 4 minutes of some Bonnaroo jokes.
But if you've seen his live special where they filmed it in multiple different countries you'll see that his act is like a well oiled machine. He's got all the same jokes and delivery and it works. Not much deviation from his routine.
Awesome news. I get the Bonnaroo emails at work, and when I opened it today I said "fucking awesome", then had to look around to make sure no one heard me.
This has been one of the shittiest weeks in work history and today Bonnaroo made my day just a little less sucky.

Finally....this is what I have been waiting for. Another addition that would set Bonnaroo apart from other festivals. Up until this point, the only unique act they had was Chromeo & Hall. It is a cool addition, I must say. Enough to make me stop complaining.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
I wonder what the odds of him sitting in with a band or two during Roo. I would think pretty high, since he plays guitar and will be there over multiple days. The Dead Weather seems almost too obvious, given that Conan and Jack are friends.
is conan really that good at geetar?
I've heard he can play pretty well, actually, as others have vouched for me. Maybe not so well that he would have ever gotten famous solely from his music, but definitely well enough. Besides, if Jack were really that considered about the level of musicianship of the people he performs with, he wouldn't have started a band with Meg (and I say this as an enormous White Stripes fan who thinks that Meg does add a very important element to the band's sound).
Anyway, I'm not going to Roo this year, but I think it would be smurfing awesome if a bunch of people got dressed up in "I'm With Coco" t-shirts and hung out at What Stage all day.
Superjam will be Conan, Steve Martin and Jack Black.
That might actually work, in some weird way. Even though I have no real desire to see any single one of them in a superjam with regular musicians, I think the three of them together could be awesome and very fun.

^ don't forget it's a music AND arts festival. after reading the news brief on the comedy announcement they do seem like one of the premier comedy destinations annually.

I bet he came to Roo cause Max talked it up from last year.
Probably. Also, Robert Smigel is a good friend/collaborator and he was there as Triumph the Insult Comic Dog. I'm sure he told Conan how Roo was. The timing of his NBC departure and live stage show worked out great for Bonnaroo.
I checked out the ticket prices for his shows, they range from $39.99 to almost $100 (with fees and taxes). Just seeing him twice at Roo would definitely be, to me, worth the price of this year's $240 ticket.
It's because he is wanting 100k per show. My brother was trying to book him. Can you imagine what Roo is paying him to be there all weekend? He's making bank off of this weekend. Not that he even needs it after his buy out. I guarantee he cost more than the headliners.
You think there's any chance that Conan would agree to do the weekend for somewhat of a reduced price because he actually wants to be apart of it and see the other bands I'm sure he loves? Also, if Richter and the Late Night Band are going on the tour with him, we are assuming this includes roo?
