If Brady's Patriots had lost in the first round every year, he'd still be an all-time great.
Instead, he's the winningest playoff quarterback in NFL history.
What makes Brady so great in the playoffs? And what makes him so much better than everyone else?
Records and Stats
Let's get the numbers out of the way.
Brady's sitting on a pile of quarterback postseason records: most games (23), most wins (17), most wins with the same head coach (17), most attempts (833), most completions (524), most game-winning drives (7), most consecutive wins (10), most touchdowns in a single half (5) and most touchdowns in a single game (tied with two others at six).
Per USA Today, Brady also has the postseason record for most consecutive completed passes (16), and single-game completion percentage (26-of-28, 92.8 percent).
Brady's 17-6 record in the playoffs is the best ever. His record is better than Joe Montana's 16-7, better than Terry Bradshaw's 14-5, better than Ben Roethlisberger's 10-4 or Eli Manning's 8-3. Only Bart Starr (9-1) and Jim Plunkett (8-2) can boast better playoff winning percentages out of at least 10 games.
Where Brady's not first, he's close. He's fourth in career postseason passing yards (5,629), third in career passing touchdowns (41) and tied for second in comebacks (4).
Brady's made the playoffs in every year he's started, save his second year as a starter, 2002 (when the 9-7 Patriots lost a three-way tie for the AFC East crown). Oh, and he's won three Super Bowls in five appearances.

I think the Falcons (and Pats) should be saying "F*cking offense." You can't get shut out in the 2nd half of a championship game and expect to win.
The offense didn't let them back into the game. But they were shut out in the second half, so they are to blame as well. Two good drives ending in turnovers and another that would have been the game winning drive.
Bottom line, though, is that the San Fran made the adjustments they needed to make whereas Atlanta made close to none or any that mattered. Atlanta was simply out coached this game.
(I used to hate the Ravens too, but F*CK THE PATRIOTS and plus my little brother's a Ravens fan) .
So, how about those Chargers?
7-9, had to win the last two games just to get there. Haven't made the playoffs since 2009, and lost to the f*ckin Jets in the first round once they got there.
At least the Patriots actually keep making the playoffs, got to the AFC championship game again. Yeah they sucked ass today, but seriously... you sound like an ignorant New York fan. Your team couldn't do shiz, so just hate on whatever is more successful.

And you sound like a Yankees fan right now. Next time cool off after a loss before returning to this thread.
I can't believe I'm going to defend the Patriots here, but I think some of you missed the correlation does not imply causation and regression toward the mean lessons in statistics.

Nothing better than some good ol' fashioned neurovascular trauma that will undoubtedly have significant long term effects on a fellow human's quality of life!!
Well, since the Pats haven't won it every year in the past decade, that statement obviously isn't true.
Brady was 10-0 in the playoffs and 3-0 in SB's pre-cheat. He's 7-7 and 0-2 in SB's post-cheat.
I was going to let it go when you posted this once as a joke, but jesus christ flanzo, if you seriously believe that means a god damn thing, i've lost all respect for you.
The brother vs brother aspect of this SB will be covered to the point of nausea but really the matchup is pretty interesting from a team vs team perspective.
I think SF has a good enough pass rush to stymie Flacco (unlike the Pats) and the Ravens have a defense that can contain Kaepernick on the ground as well as in the air. I see a pretty low scoring game and the Niners better hope it doesn't come down to a clutch Akers FG.
