sorta off topic but i didnt know where else to ask.........does radiohead pull everything off live? like some of the weird noises and effects...or do they jus do simpler versions of the studio recordings
Yeah, people keep saying they're one of the best live acts around, but they don't improvise, and I doubt they have a Jamiroquai-ish stage prescence or anything, so what makes it such a great live act?
And Jamiroquai, by the way, is defnately a cocnert to check out.

Ummm... yeah, they really pull it off live... that's why they're known as one of the best live acts you can see. Jonny Greenwood is not only one of the best guitarists in the world, but he knows how to work all the knobs, switches, effects pedals, moogs, laptops, etc to great effect... hell the guy even plays keys, piano and glockenspiel during their sets. Not to mention their mind-blowing lighting effects. I've been seeing tons of concerts since I was in my mid-teens (nearly 20 years ago) and Radiohead is by far... BY FAR... the best live act I've ever seen... but that's just my opinion... click HERE for a little taste of what to expect...
And don't believe a word about Radhiohead not improvising... I saw them once where Jonny did shit with a guitar, a radio and a violin bow that was out of this world.

yeah I've seen Jonny go nuts with a transistor radio in one hand and his other hand working the slide controls of a modified moog... usually during National Anthem... or when they play Everything In Its Right Place, both Ed and Jonny are working the effects gadgets like crazy to repeat and distort Thom's vocals... they've been using this song to end their set lately, and it never sounds the same twice. HERE is a clip.

Radiohead puts on the best show ever- i kind of wish i could see them in a smallish , intimate setting indoors(but i guess that ship has longed sailed). It will hav e to be festies and bigger venus from now on. They definately improvise a fair amount and definately put on a spectacluar light show which is even better than phish's in their prime. Havent seen them since they toured the states but they bring it EVERY time, And if its stage presence you are looking for Thom will certainly provide that. One of the best front men you can see live. I cant Freakin wait.
I've been very lucky to have seen Radiohead at early stages of their career. First in 1992 on a double bill with Belly at the Boathouse in Norfolk, VA. Then twice at the 9:30 Club, once for The Bends tour and the other at OK Computer. I met them in London once, in the lobby of the Columbia hotel when they were finishing up the mixing of OK Computer. They were incredible and very sincere guys-- especially to an annoying American fan like I was.
well, chili peppers and volta are touring together this fall.....i dont blame the chili peppers for woodstock gettin torched so they should definitely come start the tourin off at Bonnaroo. Man, i just keep hoping for Volta, Im sorry you all lol.

What happens if my tee shot lands on a bird's back and he carries it out of bounds but then is attacked by a larger bird who grabs the ball and drops it in the hole? Is that still a hole in one? 'Cause that's how I'm gonna play it.
I saw today on WORLD PARTY's website that they have been added to bonnaroo but its not on the Bonnaroo website yet. There was no specific date but that can be added possibly now
Last year they had the Jack Daniel's cafe and the Budwieser cafe, both serving up good drink and a small stage for the small bands. There may have been another small cafe stage, it's kind of a blur. These cafe stages are separate from the Sonic Stage, which is just a small stage somewhere in centeroo.
The setup of bonnaroo keeps changing, so expect something new this year. roo 04 was super muddy, especially by Sunday. somwhere along the way we stumbled across a small, deserted stage displaying a man and a didgeridoo. it was dry and definitely a highlight of the weekend. Unexpected treats are the best part of roo
News seems to drop on thursday afternoon. I don't think the last round of additions sold many tix, i think we get something next week, and its gonna be full of jam.
