Some of the tracks had leaked on to Soundcloud or torrent sites and a lot of the hip-hop blogs were posting early mixes that don't really sound like the album tracks do. The full roll-out with the colored vinyl, collector's edition, and tour announcement was in June.
The Creamy Crew has a tour gap for Bonnaroo. Surprise set?

I'm in love with this Kills record through 4 replays in 20 hours. Saw a bunch of it live already helped, sure. Wonder if anything this month will beat it.

weirdly, I was expecting it to be better than I'm finding it
I love me some Radiohead and thought the album was very solid but am honestly surprised there haven't been more critiques of it 'round here.... did seriously no one else find it a little boring?? I've heard way more people voice that opinion about James Blake's release, yet I feel that his album was much more dynamic than Moon Shaped Pool.
I feel the complete opposite. The James Blake album bored me to tears but I could listen to Radiohead all day
The only critique I could offer of Radiohead was that it felt like it was missing the really intense moments where they break out into what sounds more like "real" rock n' roll. Like it has the build up but often feels like it's missing the big moments where they are shredding. This feels most evident on "Ful Stop." However, the fact that they do this on literally every song on the album, shows that it is an intentional aspect of the album and it really distinguishes it from the rest of their albums. I am fine with it. In fact, I LOVE the album because it is so beautiful. But, this aspect that I'm addressing will forever prevent it from becoming my favorite Radiohead album. All of this being said, it's by far my favorite album of last month and I continue to just not understand what people love so much about James Blake.

I know exactly what you mean. I get all tingly inside when there is even a hint of guitar action on their new stuff. I'm always waiting for the full on freak out but they only tease us these days. I still love this album.

What do you think it's missing? Maybe I'm blinded by Miss Mosshart.
I feel like highlights from this week were Whitney, Classixx, Steve Gunn, and FEWS.
I also kind of dig the new Strokes EP.
If you liked that Steve Gunn album you should check out the new William Tyler. Honestly don't know if it comes out this week or next but it's really good. I may actually like it more than the new Gunn album.

It came out last week. I'll have to listen again. I didn't like it that much, but I was a little distracted while listening.

Not that I ever expected it to contend for AOTM, but holy hell is the new Fitz & The Tantrums album a flaming pile of dog shit. I didn't like the opener ("HandClap") when it was first released, but somehow the album steadily goes downhill from there. As someone who really enjoyed their debut album, it's sad to see how the quality of their studio output has completely fallen off a cliff. There's just zero substance on this album.
I've been away from most technology and any semblance of paying attention to the music world for what feels like weeks now, but based on that list from Cokes, I'm pretty stoked about Whitney, Dan Lissvik, DJ Shadow and case/lang/veirs.
