This thing is a monster. Gonna be hard to top this in January.
Lucky for all of us, Percussions today just released 2011-2014. It's technically the collection of all the Percussions tracks released over the last three years, but basically nobody on here has a clue what those even were, so once you all listen to this album, it'll be your favorite for the month and possibly the year. If it's not, then you're wrong.
I've gotta go with Viet Cong for January; that album was a beast. The new Sleater-Kinney album was great too, but didn't excite me the way the Viet Cong album did.
I'm also tentatively throwing the month of February to Father John Misty, because his new album is absolute stunning and perfect in almost every way for me. However, I have big hopes for my main man Phil Elverum to wow me with the new Mount Eerie album Sauna.
This will be a hard month for me. Panda Bear and Viet Cong are right at the top, but I am looking forward to Jessica Pratt and Natalie Prass. Sleater Kinney is also very good.

Jessica Pratt's album really let me down. "Back, Baby" is still one of my favorite songs of the past couple months, but it is the most complete song on the album.

If you're wanting to cast a vote for an album, post a picture of the album in the thread. It makes it much easier for someone tallying up the votes.
For what it's worth, this month alone has seen almost as many great albums as all of 2014. Percussions, Sleater-Kinney, Joey Bada$$, Bjork, Viet Cong, California X, Mark Ronson, Belle & Sebastian, the Notwist, Jimmy Edgar...man, 2014 was shit.

Agree.
Sleater-Kinney is way more solid than I had hoped for. Viet Cong is solid (though after only one listen I like it less than the EP). Didn't totally dig the Belle $ Sebastian.
BUT - this Joey Bada$$ is as good as any hip hop album I heard in 2014. I'm already on a third run and there are some special tracks on this thing.

Need to go listen to that Percussions.
I actually like this new Viet Cong better than the ep (I like it a lot).
