Anytime that album starts i imagine a composer stepping up to an orchestra cough and raise a baton, and then boom the guitar kicks in and the curtain rises. Shit is dope

I think that the first song of an album is really, really important, as it sets the tone for the rest of the album and I generally use it as a barometer for how well I'm going to like the rest of the record. A few other favorites:
"Beware" - Big Pun/Capital Punishment "Strange Terrain" - Circa Survive/Blue Sky Noise "Be (Intro)" - Common/Be "Marching Bands of Manhattan" - Death Cab for Cutie/Plans "Kill You" - Eminem/The Marshall Mathers LP "Overgrown" - James Blake/Overgrown "Make it Mine" - Jason Mraz/We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things "December 4th" - Jay-Z/The Black Album "We Don't Care" - Kanye West/College Dropout "Old and Gray" - Maps & Atlases/Beware and Be Grateful "The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide is Press Coverage" - Panic! at the Disco/A Fever You Can't Sweat Out "Lisztomania" - Phoenix/Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix "In the Flesh?" - Pink Floyd/The Wall "Fidelity" - Regina Spektor/Begin to Hope "Obvious Bicycle" - Vampire Weekend/Modern Vampires of the City
