As a Packers fan, I am sad to see Lovie let go. He came in, promised his top priority was beating Green Bay, then failed miserably at that stated goal for most of his tenure. I can't not love that.

They're apparently front runners for Chip Kelly (who I personally think isn't going to be a good pro head coach, but Jets fans are basically throwing parades and rallies trying to get the guy as the HC).
Do you just not like the taste of a Steelers fan owning your team? I probably wouldn't like it if a Dolphins fan bought the Jets, I'd have to think.
I hope Kelly goes to the Bills. I want to see CJ in his offense. will they win any more than they have been? no. will they be fun to watch? yes.
Stop drinking in the morning, Sang. Also, if Chip Kelly went to Buffalo I'd laugh and watch the Jets crush his spread offense which won't transition to the NFL at all. Not with Ryan Fitzpatrick being the derpiest derp in the league. (edit: I'm living in a fantasy world where Mark Sanchez isn't in the NFL next season, shut up and let me have my fun in the offseason)
Flanzo, ESPN says the Jets may have a boner for Norv Turner as OC. Have they got your stamp of approval on this?
Eh, I think Norv is a chump, but he has a good track record as an OC. Maybe when the pressure isn't on him and he's not making game decisions other than play calls his peanut brain doesn't get overloaded.
I won't be upset, but I won't be thrilled. I'm more concerned about who they hire as the new GM and if Rex is keeping his job once that person is hired.
I also love the fact that the Jets have the PFWA filing a grievance with the league against the team for a violation that hasn't even occurred yet. I cannot wait until the media's hard-on for the Jets is over, which will start happening when Tebow is cut.
Also, I love this .gif and hope Seattle wins the whole goddamn thing:

Not at all. Haslam puts stronger thoughts of Modell in my head every day. Joe Banner has absolutely zero track record for running the football side of a franchise. It speaks volumes that the only former employee that would come work for him is Mike Lombardi, a HORRIFIC talent evaluator (which is a misnomer because he doesn't watch film), and hasn't had a sniff at a job in 5 years.
Chip Kelly is the last person on my list. There are quite a few drinking the Kool Aid here AGAIN, but he has absolutely ZERO pro experience, would have to run the draft with Lombardi here, and has what, 3? years of Division 1 College experience as a head coach.
My first choice is actually Doug Marrone. I'd like to get Bill O'Brien, but it wouldn't sit right with me for him to leave PSU after talking all those kids into staying.

Well, I gotta say I don't really disagree with your take on any of this, but isn't Banner just playing that role until they hire the GM? Or is he going to have final say on all personnel moves?

Speaking Candidly... you'd get it if you heard the presser on Monday, it's meant to be personnel by committee, driven by the head coach, a player personnel support team and of course Joe's input as well. My greatest fear seems to be coming to fruition.. Banner morphing into Jerry Jones - the Jimmy Johnson years (He never received enough credit or limelight in Philly) and a hands on owner that thinks he knows football because he can afford a team.
I skipped this earlier, but I could care less that he owned a piece of the stealers, he wasn't a stealer fan until he bought the team. His main experience is as a UT fan and booster, his Daddy played there. He wanted the Titans, but freakin' Bud wouldn't sell the team. Maybe they'll trade franchises like the Rosenblums and Irsays. He claims to have studied hard at the feet of the Rooneys, and want's to build a team based upon the draft and continuity, yet fires a damn good GM, is hiring his new coach BEFORE the GM, and is acquiescing to Banner giving the coach the most power.

Well, the Jets have a head coach in the Bahamas, two coordinators who are about to be fired, but aren't being fired until other teams fill in their coaching vacancies (because apparently Woody Johnson decided he's going to be a huge d*ck this year - no pun intended), a GM search that's moving at a snail's pace and Mark Sanchez's guaranteed money being the single most damaging aspect of their GM search.
Top-10 defense without its best player (and possibly the best player in football)? Would make any job attractive.

Yeah, the J E T S jets jets jets definitely have issues, QB being a very large issue. Are they going to replace the DC also?
I think so. He apparently has been the inside source that the newspapers are using to dig up dirt on the Jets, which is particularly despicable considering this guys entire career has been piggy-backed off of Rex (who saw Petting like a little brother).
If the Jets had average QB play, they'd have been in the playoff hunt until the final game, as sad as that is to say. That's got to be priority #1 in the FA/trade market. I can't watch Sanchez anymore. I won't sell my season seats, but I'll want to.

Sanchez is bad, still mad at Mangenius for not holding you guys up for more.
NYJ Supposedly interviewing Heckert for the GM role on Saturday IF he doesn't go to KC with Reid. If they hire Heckert Ryan is gone after next year...

That's the game I'most looking forward to. The battle of the rookie QB's. The hobbled RGIII vs the surprise Wilson. I would lean towards Seattle taking it, seeing as they are probably the hottest team in the league. Maybe Griffin has some magic and continues this legendary rookie campaign this weekend. I've never seen a first year player go through a season at the toughest position with so few mistakes.
Me and 90,000 of my closest friends will be hoping so in person. Actually, we'll be hoping to wipe the smug goofiness off of Carroll's face, but in all honesty the smoke and mirrors of our defense the last few weeks will come to an end Sunday. I hope I'm wrong but Seattle feels like the better team.
So is ol’ Rex going to get his tattoo removed if Sanchez is gone next year?
A) It's a tattoo of his wife (in a sexy cartoon sort of way) wearing a Jets jersey and the only # you can see is on the sleeve (in other words, easily amendable).
Also, why in the hell would anyone want to coach/play/whatever in New York. Relaxing vacation in the Bahamas? Nope, some asshat from the NY Daily News is going to take candid photos of me on the beach. Are people really that interested in what he does?

NO! People are so f*cking tired (Jets fans especially) of this nonsense.
The team is interviewing 3 top GM candidates today (personnel guys from the Packers, Falcons and Niners) and there has not been a single report about that.
Instead, we have Asshat #1 (Manish Mehta from the NYDN) reporting that the team has never, ever seen the tattoo before. You have Asshat #2 (Rich Cimini from ESPN NY) saying he's "had it forever). Up is down, black is white, dogs and cats, living together....MASS HYSTERIA!
I just want to know how these interviews go and who is going to be steering the ship for the next however many years. I don't care if Rex got a tattoo of his brother's face on his ass. Actually, that'd be pretty funny. But you get the point.

Is Ryan running a 3-4 or 4-3? I think Heckert would be a great fit in NY, but now that Pioli is out in KC, with his history in NY, does he enter the mix?? Heckert drafted extremely well in Cleveland, and all his questionable picks have Walrus prints all over them.

He doesn't run either. He runs his own defense, which is unique in that it is a "hybrid" 4-3 and 3-4.
I know Pioli personally (I still have his card from his days as the Pats' player personnel guy), so if he does get hired I'm going to try and get a job in their scouting department haha.
But I doubt he's hired, the Jets are looking elsewhere already.
