Kanye West is making plans for a star-studded hip-hop tour with Jay-Z and Lil Wayne, following his doomed joint trek with pop star Lady Gaga.
He adds, "I would definitely like to bring Nicki Minaj on tour, Rick Ross, Kid Cudi. ... I'd like to do different tours. ... I'd like to do a tour with me and Jay. I think that's an obvious winner right there. A tour with me and Wayne, maybe me, Wayne, Jay and Drake."
What if it was ironing out details...how would you feel if it WAS Kanye but not JUST Kanye? What if Jay-Z came with?
I don't want Kanye in any form, no matter how many friends he brought. He burned the bridge with his arrogance and should never be allowed to return. He ruined some really great other sets that night.
Quite honestly I saw some of the best ever Bonnaroo sets that night, and they were not crowded. I watched part of a great Phil show, then went and saw Lupe, Talib, and Chali2na plus Galactic. If that was not to your taste Ghostland and Sigur Ros also had what a lot of people have said were some of the best sets ever. The greatest part of all of this is that it was the least crowded I have ever seen Bonnaroo. So while I feel bad bad for the people he fucked over waiting on him, he actually made the LN's that year a lot better.
You're new here, but what sets did he ruin? Aside from all the nonsense about Phil Lesh apparently having to get off stage a little bit early, what else happened?
We've had this discussion about 100000000000 times before, but seriously. It was three years ago, and AC/Superfly is in business with this festival - if they think it's a sound business decision, i.e. it will be profitable, they'd have him back. Simple.
Actually, I'm not new here. I have been a member since 2008 but changed my username in June 2010. I have been going to Roo since 2005. Anyhoo, if Kanye is there I will just use that time to catch the undercards or nap. I don't like him nor do I want him there but if people do then have fun watching him.
So are you going to answer the question about what sets were ruined?
Lesh was ruined because of him. I was with a friend that wanted to see KW and we waited forever it seems and ended up leaving in time to catch the end of Ghostland's show (which was awesome!). I realize that this is my own fault and when I said that he ruined the other shows, I simply meant for me.

Booking Kanye West again would probably be one the smartest decisions AC/Superfly could ever make. The hype leading up to that set would be insane. People also forget that the majority of crowd at Bonnaroo could give a damn about what happened at the festival 3 years ago.
I would go bananas for "Lost in the World". He's said it was envisioned as a "summer festival closer". I really like "Runaway" too. Imagine him apologizing to the audience or something before that piano kicks in at the beginning. Oh, man. I'm assuming if WtT does happen, they'll do some of their own individual material, since I'm sure all they have to pick from is an entire album, and maybe some of each other's songs. Jay could do some stuff he didn't do last year, too.
Didn't he say he loved Bonnaroo, or does he say that at every festival? Haha.

Lesh wasn't ruined. The set was amazing. Sure, it ended a little bit earlier than it should have.....but to say it was ruined is silly talk. I had a great time at Phil's set. Jackie Greene is awesome.

I'm glad to see the possiblity doesn't kill everyone, I truely hated Kanye after his nonsense that had me on edge at 4am stuck between teeth grinding and sleep only to hear him come on stage and not even address the audience and put on the most lack luster show since I saw ZZ Top. But, you gotta give him a chance, you know he'd bring it for real if he came back to the farm, he would have no choice. But, he would have to bring someone like Jay to make it stick.

The last time Pras mentioned the Fugees he said that you would have a better chance at seeing Bush and Bin Ladin in a Starbucks discussing foreign politics than a Fugee reunion Wyclef just shot it down not long ago stating that Lauren is too power hungry and wants to be in control of the project and it will never happen.
That being said, that is REALLY funny because a girl I know that works for Live Nation told me she heard people at work talking about the Fugees...but we both laughed it off and decided it wasn't possible.
....right? There is no way anyone could get those 3 back together.

Ha, sorry. My friends named Lauren, spell it Lauren, I apologize. I forgot by default you must spell your name with different vowel structure if you are hip and urban or just to fight the "man".

Speaking for myself, I was pretty pissed at Kanye for a while — I kept leaving perfectly good sets that night to walk over to What, only to see the screens say he wouldn't be on for another 45 minutes or an hour or longer. Eventually, I just gave up on him. Now, after a few years - and his most recent album, which I love — I've gotten over it, and I'd welcome back. I'm just one guy, though.

I'm with you. I put up "don't step in Kanye" signs next to piles of horse shit from that year...and at this point...I think I'd welcome him back.

I was salty at the time, but forgive and forget, if Kanye comes back I'll show up to see it.
Now, if that mother-quacker is booked, and shows up hella late again, he's getting erased from my ipod, my mental music memory, everything...white washed.

I would probably shit my pants if they did. I think they're 4th most likely though after Eminem, Outkast, and Kanye.
They only one out of those i wouldn't see is Eminem, his new shit is horrible. I would be stoked for the other 3.
So let me get this straight. People who don't care or don't know about the 08 fiasco will just magically be won over by the hype of a Kanye's redemption because....what, they care about a storyline that only music media bloggers will give two craps about?
You can't have it both ways. Either it's a bad idea because of the negative hype or it's a good idea because Kanye is a popular draw. But it's not especially unique or special because Coachella's already booked him.

I really do not see Outkast as anything more than wishful thinking. If they were on the scene, working on an album, anything...but they aren't. A nice wish...but just a wish. This is about where I would put the Fugees possibility...It isn't really possible. They don't do a lot of getting along and reunions while discussed regularly, have always been met with sour bullhonkey between the 3 of them.
I know exactly what you mean. I'm just hoping for something big, though. Cause i honestly can't see Eminem being hard to book and i don't think they booked the rap act until 2 days ago. Wishful thinking, that's all.

Maybe my math is wrong but according to archive he played for over 3 hours with no setbreak. This actually makes it the longest Phil show I have ever heard of. I really wish people would stop acting like he got off the stage early. He does mention KAnye starting in the donor rap, but I doubt Phil was gonna play until 4:00am. His set at AllGood that year as a headliner was only two hours.

It's a good idea all the way around. Especially if he brings Hov.

Kanyes blames & trashes AC & Bonnaroo and they are gonna bring him back to headline?, I would lose a little respect for AC if he brought him back. I would let Kanye Sucks live forever @ Bonnaroo and than bring him back for the 25th anniversary to play the sonic stage
