I fall on either end of the dichotomy of headliners vs undercard draw. For example, if the headliners Arcade Fire, Radiohead, and/or Daft Punk , I could give two shits about the undercard, I am going. If the undercard this year has acts like Massive Attack, Belle & Sebastian, Soulwax, etc, in other words acts that rarely if ever play my area, or collectively provide and experience I cannot obtain locally, I am in.

Friday night is going to be one of (if not THE) most epcot nights that farm has ever seen.
There's going to be a real strong act before the Aracde Fire. Possibly two (WHAT,WHICH).. not to mention MMJ is going to blow the fookin roof off this biatch!!
There have been many time I was relaxing in my tent during a headliner, and heard the tectonic roar of the crowd after a song (and saw the temblors ripple across the surface of whatever I'm drinking). The headliners are worth it just for the feel of the crowd, whether you're in the thick of it or a quarter mile away skirting the mayhem.

Agreed. If Insider is correct about Friday night, then AC can shit the bed (metaphorically speaking) the other two nights for all I care. Or not fix the porta-pot issues of 2010 even.

Is it possible Dave Matthews Band can come back and split the Friday headlining spot with Arcade Fire? They are announcing their intents on the 15th, the same day as Bonnaroo.
edit: If they get Jack Johnson, I think we found our Saturday split headliner w/ Eminem, only if he's the Saturday hip hop headliner and they do evolve into split headliners this year.

MMJ will be that real strong act before Arcade Fire
I bet MMJ and Arcade Fire get a split set like Beasties Byrne.
I think MMJ is preheadlining this year. You have two other acts that can play late night: String Cheese Incident & Massive Attack.
Edit: What is the point of Dave Matthews announcing his summer plans on the same day as Bonnaroo? Why hasn't this been discussed yet. Is it because nobody cares about DMB? I know I don't, but I'd imagine this is integral to the Bonnaroo discussion.

I pretty much agree with your logic, but I'm one to never say never. I just find it interesting that they are both announcing on the same day.
Edit: on a diifferent subject, in case we get BEP'd, I vote we find a bar in Manchester and disappear for a few hours so we won't be able to hear Fergie sing. We'll just play the jukebox at the bar as loud as we can.

Several people have now mentioned Black Keyes - which I can confirm as pre-headliner Sat night.
Headliner Sat night will most probably be the rap act that is close to a done deal but not quite - and stop with these silly Kane posts.......
Insider says the headliner is rap act...then follows up with "stop with these silly Kane posts" which I assume is suppose to be referring to Kanye West. I sincerely hope that Kanye is NOT the suspected rap act that is holding up things in 'closing the deal". You have to wonder since he was mentioned along with the rap act.

It's not that hard to understand.
She said the Saturday night big act is a rap act who was in negotiations.
Then says to stop the silly Kanye posts. That should tell you that Kanye IS NOT the person she is talking about.
How could her saying "Stop the Kanye posts" mean that Kanye is who she's talking about?

Because possibly she wants the constant stream of negative posts to stop about him because that artist is in fact playing at Roo. It would make sense that a diva like him would be holding up negoations. It was simply a thought and there are multiple ways of looking at things.

There are multiple ways to look at things. That doesn't mean that they are all right.

I never said that I was right. But based on your statement, you could be wrong in your assumption that KW won't be there.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if we got a Kanye West combo act with other artists. That's why we didn't get Furthur, Phil Lesh is still mad and wouldn't be on the same bill as Kanye again

Lil Wayne is taking his music to the streets on a 25-city trek this spring. The I Am Music II tour kicks off on March 18 at Buffalo’s HSBC Arena and wraps up on April 29 at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena. Also on the bill: Wayne’s out-of-this-world protege Nicki Minaj, Teflon Don rapper Rick Ross, Mixmaster Mike and Travis Barker, who’s new single “Can A Drummer Get Some” features Weezy and Ross.
She said Lil Wayne didn't pan out...but what about an ensemble

If Kanye West is at Bonnaroo this year I will buy you a ticket.
I sincerely hope that you are correct in saying that he won't be there. I don't want KW anywhere near the farm and I think AC/Superfly would do far more damage than they could ever imagine or repair by putting him on the bill again.
-When I Hear My Name -Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground -Blue Orchid -Passive Manipulation -Red Rain -Death Letter -My Doorbell -Hotel Yorba -Same Boy You've Always Known -Lovesick -Little Ghost -We're Going to Be Friends -The Hardest Button to Button -Black Math -The Nurse -I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself

Kanye West is making plans for a star-studded hip-hop tour with Jay-Z and Lil Wayne, following his doomed joint trek with pop star Lady Gaga.
He adds, "I would definitely like to bring Nicki Minaj on tour, Rick Ross, Kid Cudi. ... I'd like to do different tours. ... I'd like to do a tour with me and Jay. I think that's an obvious winner right there. A tour with me and Wayne, maybe me, Wayne, Jay and Drake."
What if it was ironing out details...how would you feel if it WAS Kanye but not JUST Kanye? What if Jay-Z came with?

I don't want Kanye in any form, no matter how many friends he brought. He burned the bridge with his arrogance and should never be allowed to return. He ruined some really great other sets that night.

You're new here, but what sets did he ruin? Aside from all the nonsense about Phil Lesh apparently having to get off stage a little bit early, what else happened?
We've had this discussion about 100000000000 times before, but seriously. It was three years ago, and AC/Superfly is in business with this festival - if they think it's a sound business decision, i.e. it will be profitable, they'd have him back. Simple.
Actually, I'm not new here. I have been a member since 2008 but changed my username in June 2010. I have been going to Roo since 2005. Anyhoo, if Kanye is there I will just use that time to catch the undercards or nap. I don't like him nor do I want him there but if people do then have fun watching him.
