Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I have to imagine it's going to be Eminem if it's not going to be Lil Wayne. I don't see Big Boi confirming he is going to be at Roo for an Outkast reunion when they are supposedly still negotiating.
Gorillaz aren't hip-hop. I don't think it's gonna be Outkast either. They are giving us Big Boi, and Karasko said that he includes Outkast songs in his show. I think the Hip Hop Headliner will be Em and Dre or one of the two.
Gorillaz have strayed away from the hip-hop styling gradually since S/T dropped, it's true. They are kind of all over the place. Electronica more than anything these days.
I was just kidding about Pac and Biggie headlining. They're actually getting me to headline, we're just working out the details on the african children's choir I want to bring in to do backing vocals and the cooking dance.
Then don't pay. End of story. Go to Hangout or wherever and get one or two of the bands you'd get at Bonnaroo, and act happy about it. I don't know what 'WOW' factor you want. Those bands (Radiohead, Daft Punk, whoever) AREN'T AVAILABLE.
So yeah, maybe you can see Arcade Fire, My Morning Jacket, etc. elsewhere. Can you see them all at once? Or all at a major event where there will be more energy than at some random stop in Bumf*ck, IA on an amphitheatre tour?
Dude chill out, nothing to get angry over. And I already payed, booked my flights and everything, so I am going. I'm NOT unhappy with the bands, I just wish there was like one more band in there that would give it a little boost, something more special that I can't see just anywhere. Hell, if we do get Outkast, I'm sold!
I am entitled, I am a paying consumer. I get to have an opinion about what I pay for. I'm not saying I won't still love it and have a great time, but I can't help but be a little saddened over the lack of WOW factor. None of those acts are really anything special that I can only catch at Roo or whatever. And from a marketing perspective having no WOW factor really makes no sense to me...
It has more WOW than any other lineup from any other festival this year I have seen.. Be glad you get this lineup
Bonnaroo and Hangout share My Morning Jacket, Widespread Panic, and the Black Keys.

I HIGHLY DOUBT this, but I could imagine a scenario where big boi says "yeah ill be at bonnaroo", while secretly thinking "I didn't say I'd be solo" I mean it's within the realm of possibility. But I think we're getting Eminem

I can get down with this viewpoint, but I think, as a whole, they are just as much of a hip-hop act as they are an alt-rock act.
Of course, I only gave Plastic Beach one or two listens. I was pretty disappointed considering how much I loved the first 2 albums, so maybe they've changed since.

The Gorillaz are a perfect example of why I hate the idea of Genre's and labeling music. It is clear that they have a tremendous amount of influences, one of which being hip-hop. But all-in-all. They just make good music.
Sublime is another. Tons of influences. And to label their music to just one of their influences, is not doing them justice.
That's my only question about the lineup right now. The Hangout isn't that far from Roo when you really think about it. I still think Roo has something up their sleeve that is really going to set them apart from everyone else. That may just be wishful thinking though.

well maybe originally it was just Big Boi. Insider said Furthur dropped out, maybe they were originally the Sat headliner.
When they dropped maybe AC began talkin to Big Boi about doin a Outkast set instead and the talks heated up from there?
never know what exactly happen, but Outkast makes the most sense to me as a hip-hop act who could headline.
I would say Hangout at least equaled Bonnaroo. Plus it's on the beach. But less freedom.
On paper at the moment it looks that way at the moment. But we dont know the undercard of sat headliner yet. And allgood is an inferior festival, even if they had better headliners

Plastic Beach has nothing on Demon Days.
Kinda feel like there's gotta be more than what the lineup has shown so far... have to be holding something back big.
Right now it's a conglomerate of Coachella & Hangout more or less (which still is a sick lineup so far)... Gotta believe they have a couple more punches to pull
can we stop referring to insider as she? for the following two reasons:
1. if i was a betting man (which i am), there could be a chance (i'll put it at 5:2) that the 'insider' could have misrepresented His/Her gender in order to make identification more ambiguous.
2. i think articles should no longer be used to refer to the 'insider'. refer to Him/Her as either the proper name or if your going to use an article folks, at least capitalize the damn thing. show some respect.
an aside: with the black keys news and black star 'confirmed', i hope we a little blakroc action... well at the very least a little.

Whoever said these headliners wouldn't fly at Lolla needs to realize that Lolla is all about the headliner. They put all of their money into signing six big name bands and skimp on the undercard severely. Roo is not about the headliner.
Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.
I have to imagine it's going to be Eminem if it's not going to be Lil Wayne. I don't see Big Boi confirming he is going to be at Roo for an Outkast reunion when they are supposedly still negotiating.

I don't disagree with that at all. It would just seem odd to me is all I'm saying.
Like someone else said maybe they are still negotiating with Wayne. I've seen him twice and I have to say he is definitely in the elite. I wouldn't have went back after the first time if I didn't believe that. I would love to see Eminem too.

STOP!!! STOP MAKING OUTKAST SOUND SO LIKELY
im watching live videos on youtube now, getting my hopes up. i knew it would happen. god damnit.
I don't think a Black Keys show in the middle of the day would come close to their epic late night last year.
I was there and it was pretty cool. But to say it is epic is a bit of an overstatement. 1- they only played about an hour and a half. 2- they sounded just like they do in studio which didn't thrill me.
In all honesty, I think TBK are a little overrated at this point, and if they were to be considered a headliner/ return for their "late night" set, I would be disappointed. They'd be great if they were on the undercard instead. Give me Radio Moscow.
At this point I could see the most likely of the hp/hop headliners being either Drake or Eminem... Though no one has ruled out a Dre/Snoop set.... Which IMO would be pretty cool.
I would say Hangout at least equaled Bonnaroo. Plus it's on the beach. But less freedom.
Roo also has Black Star, Massive Attack, Decemberists....
People forget. These smaller fests can splurge on good headliners, then they have to fill out the lineups with sh*t bands like RAQ and Ozomatli and crap. Bonnaroo has a dope headlining set, then an undercard that's more stacked than any other fest.
It's kind of like in baseball - yeah, the Mariners might have Felix Hernandez, and he's the best starter in the AL, but then you look and the rest of their rotation is crap, whereas the Sox have Lester/Beckett/Buchholz/Lackey, and you're like "sh*t, the Sox #4 starter would be #2 on the Mariners," and you realize the depth that's present.
Bands that will be middle of the pack for Bonnaroo would be top 3 lines for other fests. Believe that.
Furthur, the Saturday night headliner? I couldn't post a picture on here last night and I smart enough to know that wasn't going down...
just throwing possibilities out there. you dont know anymore then the rest of us. its safe to assume WSP was gonna be there from the start. maybe they were originally a late night and moved to close the fest when Furthur dropped. none of us know for sure.

Lol, I don't think they skimp on the undercard at all. They usually get quite a few bands I like. Last year I had many undercard conflicts...
