Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
and yeah, I could never say Roo sucks...I've had so many amazing times the past six years and have faith next year will be more to my liking. One down year (imo) isn't enough for me to write it off. I'm sure if I went I'd have fun, but with this lineup I can't justify spending the cash.
I wasn't planning on going at all this year. It's a money and time thing. I have all intentions of returning next year. If I didn't have any issues this summer I would have gone to Roo again.......but this year would be the one to take off. I believe that Bonnaroo's 10th year will be amazing and so I decided that there's no way I can miss that, so I sacrificed this year before any rumors began.
So i'm a little relieved there's no Neil or Roger or MMJ. Of course they could always be a late add but I doubt it.
See you guys on the farm in 2011 (unless Jonas Brothers headline).
You can't please all the people all the time. People bitched just as bad last year because of Bruce and Phish.
True. But last year the rumors of Phish and Bruce came true.
This year the rumors of Neil and Roger Waters never came true and add that to the way they released the lineup (which I liked, but most disliked) and we have a lot of backlash.
Sasquatch got all the indie acts I was crossing my fingers Bonnaroo would get. If you're interested in indie, Sasquatch demolishes Bonnaroo. Just knowing all those acts were out there to book makes me even more disappointed in the Roo lineup.
I'm still going this year if possible, but man, it's like this lineup was engineered to be as underwhelming as possible
Assuming this is dripping with sarcasm, if you don't think Stevie Wonder is absolutely epic, you must be living under an IndieJam rock somewhere. The only reason I can see that he isn't THE top headliner is because he isn't exactly core-Roo music. Still, he is a legggend. I mean name one male solo act that has more Grammies...oh, you can't.
This will be my 3rd Roo, and I for me and my musical taste this is by far the best line-up yet. I like Phish and had a great time both nights, but detest the Boss so that sucked for me. I enjoyed all of the shows I saw last year but the the best show that I saw was one that I was expecting to just catch some of spending time between big draws for me(Tift Merrit, it was incredible) and the second best was a Troo lounge act we swung by to get pics for a friend that couldn't make it (Dear and the Headlights, these guys were out of control!) I am already anxious about scheduling this year because I want to see so much I am not seeing how it is possible. I get how this year is not going to be for everyone, but to me it is almost as if I hand picked these bands. I CANNOT *FUCKING WAIT FOR JUNE! Just weighing in with my opinion...that is all.

Exactly, Sasquatch got all the great indie acts Bonnaroo missed out on.
Also knowing Massive Attack will be in the country a couple weeks before the festival and not making it down to Bonnaroo is sort of lame. I could understand if they were in Europe, but they're playing the U.S. so close to the fest and Bonnaroo didn't get them? Sasquatch went for a younger lineup than last year and hit a home run, I don't really understand what Bonnaroo was going for this year.

But in all fairness they do this every year. M83 & Doves come to mind.
Sasquatch always pulls out a few bells and whistles. That doesn't make it a better festival.

I don't think it's a better festival, but they get some great bands. I just don't understand why Bonnaroo ignores some of the most requested European bands. I know there's a lot of other things that go into it besides just getting a contract out, but it's not like these bands are impossible to get and Sasquatch proves that.
I probably missed something along the way, but regardless, has there been any discussion about Neil still being listed as 'expected' on CoS? There has been talk of 'a lot of money still being on the table' as an alleged big-name act dropped out last minute. Neil Young would be an awesome addition. Hopefully he, or something equally as solid, is part of that 'surprise' we were promised via Roo's twitter a few days ago.
I have looked all over the place and these boards are the only place that say anything about a big name dropping out. Does anyone have any solid info on this?

No solid info on it.
I think it's wishful thinking. There's still a possibility of an add that will make everybody happy (cough Neil cough) but I wouldn't get your hopes up.

Oh don't miss understand. That wasn't directed towards anyone. I've never been to Sasquatch. I can't say whats better and whats not.
If you really wanna get pissed take a look at how many of those bands are playing Primavera Sound that same weekend. Flying from Spain to Seattle and playing in less than 2 days.
I agree that it might be time for new blood at Roo, but your also looking at a festival that plays it safe year after year.

Every single time someone brings the rumors of a headliner/big act dropping out last minute I reply and ask for them to tell me what rumors they are talking about. Nobody has answered me yet lol.
There was one guy who claimed that his source at Spin magazine said Elton John was signed but dropped out....but most of us chose not to believe it because he's been booked in Europe during Roo for a while.
Other people were trying to claim The Who dropped out because of comments Pete Townshend made in an interview.....but there was never any mention of Bonnaroo. Just that they canceled some shows.
I don't think a big name dropped out. I half-believe Alex from CoS who says that when Roth folded, Neil opened up and Bonnaroo tried to get him....but the deal didn't work out. I'm not sure if that's true....but it sounds possible.

I wonder if that act that dropped out was Paul Simon, seeing as he seemed to be a shoe in....then was not on the lineup.

That's what I'm thinking. The clue "Tom and Jerry minus Art" pointed squarely in that direction since Paul Simon & Art Garfunkel started performing at Tom and Jerry.
But as my grandfather taught me, no use crying over acts that dropped out.

The correct answer to that clue was Deadmau5
I think that was an after-the-fact effort to save face. They were hinting at Simon, he didn't come through, so they needed to come up with a different answer for the clue and that was the best they could come up with.

Simon was only confirmed by one website. In the past, websites have confirmed Led Zeppelin and Flaming Lips on years that they weren't playing. Sometimes websites get it wrong.
I wouldn't be surprised if they either made a pitch to or considered making a pitch to S&G. I'm just not sure how viable an option that really is for Bonnaroo. Seems more like an ACL or APW act.

We knew that clue wasn't pointing to Simon by Feb. 2nd, when everyone was sh*tting their pants because they thought the line up would come out. whoever was doing the clues denied simon in a chat.
