It's awful that people are actually upset about Stevie Wonder being announced last. Say what you will about the lineup, but Stevie is a HUGE get. And dare I say it, he might be the best act announced so far.
6/18: Phish in Hartford 6/25: Phish in Camden 7/2-7/4: Nateva 7/17: God Street Wine at Irving Plaza 7/23-7/25: String Cheese at Red Rocks!! 8/17-8/18: Phish at Jones Beach 9/3: Rush at PNC
This Bonnaroo lineup is in dire need of some Rush.

i like the lineup but it is a step down from last year for me. last year was too perfect, it was pretty much all of my favorite bands at the same place
Glastonbury 08 where Jay-Z and KoL were the headliners. Looks like camping space will be easy to come by this year.
Sale of tickets did not occur as fast as has been the case in recent years.[9] After tickets went public on 6 April, only around 100,000 were purchased, prompting Eavis to re-open registration two days later. By contrast, 2007 saw the then entire allocation of 137,500 tickets sell out in around two hours. There are a number of theories as to why the 2008 lapse in ticket sales has occurred, with one popular theory being that would-be patrons have been put off due to the inclusion of Hip Hop artist Jay-Z. Michael Eavis disputes this,[10] claiming that the lapse is due to a long run of poor weather conditions during previous years of the festival. The global economic downturn may be another explanation for would-be festival goers deciding instead to hold on to their money. The event did eventually sell out, although the final tickets were sold on the opening Friday
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts

the coachella lineup is littered with acts that we got, and even more if you consider what played at the roo last year. maybe our lineup is just more progressive and up-and-coming. in a few years we may look back on this and laugh at our naivety...
we had over 150 bands total last year. today they've announced 88. They must have a TON of headliners up there sleeves. the question is. . . big time headliners or lineup fillers?

Coachella lineup is 1000x better, too bad i will already be out of town. there are still some pretty good acts. but i was expecting more, like sts9, 311, panic, what about more djs? i mean bassnectar is sick as shit but thats 1 that i count so far
A lot of those 150 were Cafe acts though. Not that many big stage names were added after the initial lineup, and someone said that there were like 75 on last years initial lineup.
seriously. and seeing people getting picked out of the crowd for smoking a joint. annd the small ammount of space they give you to camp with..
ohhhh and. that you can't go to and fro from stages/campsite as you please.
Oh and us hippie folk have to steer clear of the tazers at Coachella.
Yeah it's got a great vibe.
my buddy told me a story where he found a drum circle after the shows in the camp grounds, and minutes later a helicopter with a bull horn came swooping in screaming "DISPERSE IMMEDIATLY< YOU MUST DISPERSE' and then the goon squad showed up, great vibes. damn terrorists and there evil drums.

No joke! Some guy had a guitar a couple of tents away so some others joined with drums...a few minutes later the cops crashed the party. Music at night in the campground is apparently a no no.

maybe they will try and have a bigger thursday and have more bands...maybe a what stage band on thursday so they could add more bands than in the past

I agree with most of you that I'm overall disappointed. There is too much pop, rap, and country for my taste. I'm not a big jam fan, but I wanted some. Where are they? My girlfriend wanted some roots reggae too. The headliners aren't great, but I don't hate any of them (unlike Bruce). They just aren't exciting headliners.
Also, I thought Bonnaroo was going to have a Latin tent theme this year. Where's all the latin themed artists? Just curious
I hated the initial lineup last last year...I mean hated it (& the 1st artist additions). I ate my words when I started listening to alot of the bands that I didn't know. 09 turned out to be an amazing roo. There are quite a few that I've never heard of so I bet I'm going to gain alot of new favorites.
But there are alot of exciting artists & I'm going to end on a positive note: Flaming Lips doing Floyd, Claypool, Deadmau5, Chromeo, Bassnectar, Michael Franti & Spearhead, Clutch, Neon Indian, Blues Traveler, The Black Keys, Jeff Beck, Zac Brown Band, Thievery Corporation, Lotus, Phoenix, Medeski Martin & Wood, LCD Soundsystem, Damien Marley, Tenacious D, & The Dead Weather!!!!!!!
look at how bad Coachella crushes this initial bonnaroo lineup!
^takes a massive S H I T upon the entire farm.
and they almost got the who as well. I like the lineup so far, but for all the hype and joking about the who and rolling stones, they really dropped the ball.
