Part of me feels like this is backlash for the way it's been delivered. I wonder if we had just gotten the lineup if everyone woulda been so outraged. I'm still dreaming of Neil tonight. I'll dream about it until the day I cram my nuts into the Geo and drive down. And if the mans not there, well, life goes on.
This. horrible execution.
If they didn't have what a large number of people were expecting they should have either 1. Announced the initial lineup all at once as usual. 2. Not teased with the final announcement only to reveal Stevie Wonder. Stevie shouldn't have been listed last-- they should have saved a crowd pleaser for that spot.
Anyways, unless they do something drastic to make up for this, I'm not there.
Looking at the lineup last year, they really shat the bed on this year. I don't know what planet they live on where Dave Matthews Band and Kings of Leon are getting the job done. Unless they have an earth shattering reveal in the next few weeks, I'm not impressed in the slightest.
Kings of Leon were barely headliners at Lollapalooza and they got outshone by everyone else who played. Pandering to the bud light crowd if I've ever seen it. Don't get me wrong, I'm excited about certain bands, but that lineup is not enough so far for me to travel, equip myself and cough up 2 hundo for.

KOL I can sort of understand if people are saying they have no stage presence, however, I will defend a Dave show to death. You don't like the content, cool, that's fine. But the group collectively is talented and really just brings it. Hatas gonna hate, but hatin just because is pretty weak.
I knocked Coachella to all of my friends, thinking that Bonnaroo (argueably the best festival in the states) would blow everyone away. I thought not only would we have some of Coachella's lineup...but even better headliners. Its hard not to think of the $500 spent already...I wish I was going to Cali now.
arghhh i thought the day-long announcement was cool for like 20 minutes this afternoon...then it got old. hate the slow trickle. ESPECIALLY with no fantastic freaking finish!

dave, stevie, jay-z will all put on great, great shows.
it's just that......when Bonnaroo teases things like Rolling Stones and the Who and other acts on their twitter a few weeks ago and deliver this it feels like we were teased a bit.
i think stevie is taking some unintentional hits right now. i know he will be great...i just think everyone was waiting for one of the big names that we have debated upon as headliner to come out as the last name.

Missing:
Arcade Fire Spoon Neil Young Pavement Thom Yorke/Radiohead Muse MMJ Broken Social Scene or The New Pornographers --any cool or upcoming band...where's Surfer Blood or a repeat Yeasayer or MGMT who all have albums out. HELLO?
Weezer, DMB, Blues Traveler, KOL....gaaaaaaaayyyyyy
Throughout the whole "unveiling" it was very exciting. But now that the lineup is on bonnaroo.com, I do feel underwhelmed. BUT, I know there are people who were confirmed via CoS who did not appear on the initial lineup. Coupled with Bonnaroo saying there will be more additions later makes me less worried. It's just something about the way the artists are listed on the Bonnaroo website, it just diminishes the lineup somehow. I look back at years past and the lineup looks lame on paper, but the whole weekend was a blast.

in comparing the 2010 list vs. 2009, it looks like there's a ways to go... although i wouldn't think any of the bands that will be announced in the future would be anything other than mid-tier
neil in 2011 bonnaroo get with it!
all in all, i'm not that disappointed in the lineup, but it seems like bonnaroo is changing from a jam-ish festival to more of a lollapalooza, appeal to everyone festival.

add to that teasing - a FULL DAY of teasing every 5 minutes and then you have a reason for people to be upset.
Coachella has ins/outs this year, along with car camping, and 300 sq feet per site this year. $55 for each site and you can put as many people on one site as youd like. Anyway, this lineup is really depressing. Think I might go out to Cali for the chance to see Faith No More, Gorillaz, and Orbital.
John butlers twitter says june 13 9pm to 11 pm, does the which stage play that late or any of the tents on sunday, i'm pretty sure hes not big enough to close out what, or did they just throw a time out there?
we had over 150 bands total last year. today they've announced 88. They must have a TON of headliners up there sleeves. the question is. . . big time headliners or lineup fillers?
