i loved dr johns set. he didnt get as trippy as i thoguht he would with the evil laughs and and scary noises. but i danced my ass off to everything he played. he was awesome. but i was hoping for a little more trippy show. but it was great to see him. i thought dumpstaphunk stole the show at that latenight though. they were unbelieveable. i missed rebirth to go to the superjam. havent heard much about it. anyone catch them???
I really wanted to check out both Dr John/Rebirth/Dumpstaphunk and the Dresden Dolls/Balkan BeatBox/Cirkus, but I just couldn't move away from the SuperJam.
The superjam was off the hook, but Dr. John was where it was at on saturday night for me. I was able to get up nice and close and still have lots of room to dance... choice set.

ya it took forever for me to find out if they were palying with the duo. everyone was like "who???" i couldnt believe noone knew who they were. i must have asked 10 people before i found someone who knew their nuts. it was impossible to get up front when i got there. but thats fine. i was a dancing fool. if you were near the back you probably saw me. i made quite a spectacle of my self. people were offering me their shoes because they thought i was abusing my feet too much dancing around. of course i made a spectacle of my self at every night time show dancing around like a total freek. i had so much fun. i am so sad its over
Dude i TOTALLY know what you mean. Thursday night I was in the arcade with Motion Potion DJing (and he was fucking aweseome!) and when he was done I was talking to him for a while and he actually told me that it was going to be GRAB for the superjam (he has spun with Benevento and Russo, and knows all their managers). I was so incredibly floored by the news, for the next two days i told EVERYONE that it was going to be GRAB, and only one or two people knew who the Duo was. I was just like "just...go. It will be INCREDIBLE!" And, of course, it WAS incredible. I still think Umphrey's took the show though, they were just incredible, even for their own standards. That being said, I am super excited to see Phil&Friends and GRAB again in two weeks, its gonna be awesome! The fact that they wrote some new songs is great! Ahh i want to be back

i was so happy at the superjam cuz we went directly there after radiohead.... we got the first picnic table - on the right hand side facing the stage it was so badass to have that table!!!! ;D

I skipped out of radiohead a few minutes early to get a good spot. I was in front of the recorder, which was pretty freaking close. Not as close as I was for Umph/Bisco though....I skipped all of Petty to get in the first few rows!!! In my opinion, the late nights weren't worth anything if you weren't in the tent, and being so close made the shows SO MUCH BETTER. If I just wanted to hear the music, i could jsut download it!
"Man and his deed are two distinct things...a good deed should call forth approbation a a wicked deed disapprobation, the doer of the deed, whether good or wicked, always deserves respect or pity as the case may be. 'Hate the sin and not the sinner' is a precept which, though easy enough to understand, is rarely practicsed (sic), and that is why the poison of hatred spreads in the world." -Ghandi
ya me too. im looking pretty hard at all good too. bisco latenight/early morning set sounds awesome. plus the rest of the lineup is incredible. and the best part. no overlapping music. you get to see everyone on the lineup and its one hell of a list!!!!
OK, the ones I saw were great, but it would be a tie between MMJ and Bisco. Superjam was cool, but Trey is by far the preson I see the most live, and as good as he is, I would like to see others. I was hoping for something with Buddy Guy and Robert Randolph, but that was a hope. MMJ was great, leaps and bounds better than last year's show(during the day). Bisco was like nothing I have ever seen.
mmj was sooo hot on frinday! superjam worked me so hard and then i went over to catch the end of dumpstaphunk and that just freakin' killed what was left of me!! between those three, it's a freakin' toss up!

After Radiohead I was extremely high on life (amongst others), and Dumpstaphunk blew my mind! Those guys were so tight everyone was dancing their asses off it was amazing!
P.S. I heard Mos Def made an appearance at the Common show. Is this true? I love mighty mos and this will devastate me.
I loved the late night hip-hop, but Mos Def didn't make an appearance. Common had his cell phone ringing then said it was Mos Def and Talib Kweli calling him on a 3-way, then just asked the crowd if they'd heard of each. I was really hoping it would go somewhere, like he would cover one of their songs or even more awesome, they would make an appearance. Instead he just put his cell phone back in his pocket and started into his song. .
