I got my Sanuks from Zappos, too. Very very very happy with them, and I'd recommend Sanuks to anyone. One thing, though...if you have any tendency toward stank foot, these may cause it. I'm taking my can of Odor Eater's, though, so I don't care.

Just got this at Hancocsk Fabric yesterday...it's smocked fabric with lemons, oranges and limes all over it. Its probably meant for a little girls dress, but I'm making a cute top outta it ^_^
Love that pattern, you'll have to post some pics of it when you're done! I still havent bought any smocked fabric, but im totally working on it.
soooo cute. at target.com i saw rainboots that kinda matched, if i remember correctly lol.

hey, havent read thru this whole thread bc its super long, but does anyone know any links to cute bandanna/headwrap type things to wear at roo so my scalp doesnt get burnt? maybe like a scarf to wrap around with a cute print?
i forgot that i never ever ever wear dresses when i bought two for roo thinking they would be super comfortable. i wear skirts all the time, but there's something about a dress that makes me feel awkward and conspicuous and overdressed yet naked at the same time. weird and hard to explain. anyway i wore one of the two today and that's how i remembered. crap. :-(
in my world if it doesnt have a zipper or drawstring waist it might as well be a ball gown. anyway i am going to wear them a bunch before roo so i dont spend the time feeling like i am wearing an evening gown to mcdonalds.
That is a cute dress flgypsymama! Maybe if you put some bike shorts under them you would feel more comfortable. I did that last year which was good since I was sitting in the gorund a lot and didn't really wanna show my hoo hoo to all of roo.
thaks for the link stephiejane! I may order one!
Got my rainboots prettypinkstars. they are same ones from last year and they are cute but the colors are starting to fade and my dog ate the pull strap on one of them....I really want a shiny new pair but I'd rather spend the money on some other Roo related item. I still have to order my shade chairs from Target and that is gonna be like 80 bucks. They will be totally worth it though!

so...i put on a roo fashion show for my hunny last night. don't think he was as excited as me. i have no idea why

I LOVE the target rainboots! I got a pair 2 years ago, they're pink with cupcakes all over them! Every year, I go back to target and pine over a new pair, then remember "how many pairs of boots do i really need???".... then I pull out my cupcake boots and tromp around the house for a day.
I also was a flip flop girl the past 2 roos, and Im sure I'll bring them this year too - but I did also get a pair of Sanuks. They're way comfy, but Im hoping that I dont get the "stank foot" since they're close-toed. we shall see.

I really love your headbands, make sure to link the etsy store...I will definitely buy a couple!
Okay my Inforoo Ladies - the store is up! Add me to the list of shameless self-plugging www.CraftMayo.etsy.com
I've made a couple more "bonnaroo" headbands. And I've gotten pretty proficient at reading my own pattern (imagine that) so I can now complete a band in one sit down. Any bands that dont sell by Farm time, Im just taking with me. nothin like earning beer money! (and p.s. no pressure to buy anything!!! im just thankful you guys kinda lead me to finally start crafting on a regular basis again ) But if any of you ARE interesed in getting a band, and you want a different color, let me know... my crafting addiction has blossomed into a humongoid bag of new yarn.
AND im all over my sewing machine these days. Last night I pulled out my tapestry that we use as a sun blocker, and patched up and reinforced the areas we use to tie to the camp canopy. I also got some smocked fabric from Hancock's (yes, it's the citrus fabric) and made up a tube top... think Im gonna add a waist band with a tie back to make it a little more "tummy slendering." then I'll post some pics! I have some other smocked fabric thats long enough to be a little above-knee sundress, and i'll likely sew that up tonight... Im a crafting tornado right now. and i LOVE it.
...and finally - all this tie-dye talk is making me think a big white cheap bedsheet from walmart and a couple of RIT packs are in my immediate future.

Those are really cute mayonaise! I already added you to my favorite sellers.
I just tie-dyed some old sheets-basically making my own tapestries kind of. They look decent, but the color isn't as bright as I had hoped. I used beige colored sheets instead of white, since that's what I had, so maybe that's the problem. Are there any expert tie-dyers out there that have some secret tricks to making those colors pop?
my crocs came and im in love with them and they are ridiculously comfy..ill have to put some pictures up of the dresses i got from forever 21 too! so stoked

Don't ask me why I'm reading the girly fashion thread, but my girl and I just tie dyed some stuff this past weekend and they all looked bad. We used Rit Dye, which has a website that gives tips and instructions. It even tells you how to make different designs. We even doubled the dose of dye and it still all bled out. I didn't look at the website and appaerntly you're supposed to soak it for 4-7 minutes then rinse in cold water til clear, then warm water. We just dipped, hung to dry, then I washed them out with a hose. Most of the dye ended up on my grass. For some reason, you are supposed to add a lot of salt to the dye as well as some laundry detergent. We spent $40 on dye and ended up with a bunch of shirts that we'll never wear. Oh well. It was fun. Check out the website.

use fiber-reactive dyes. soak in soda ash beforehand. let the dye sit 12-24h before rinsing. oh, and be a dumbass like we were and leave the bagged dyed shirts on the ac unit outside by accident. hehe, its hot (well, warm) and i hink that's what totally baked our colors in!
^^ mayonaise, I love the flip-it headband! Are you taking custom orders??
And I'm so jealous of everyone's craftiness! I can't even sew a button much less work a sewing machine
I absolutely take custom orders! I didnt add the "alchemy" section to the shop bc I dont really know how it works yet... but you can totally PM me, or just leave the message here, and Im all over it. Good to know: Im partial to the yarn brand "Sugar n' Cream." It's all cotton, machine washable, and breaths better than acrylic or wool (duh). AND it comes in solids, "twists", and "stripes"... in waaaaay fun colors. you can google their site and pick colors there too. Im happy to buy new yarn!
And thanks Clarity for adding me! There will be much more to come for CraftMayo! it's like riding a bike - i havent crafted in so long, but now that I am, I have about a jillion ideas in my head. hopefully they can all come out and actually be good!

Do you have any suggestions for fiber-reactive dyes? I haven't had good luck with Rit either, though it's been years since I've worked with it.
I did the "marble" technique from the rit directions. I used a bunch of salt on the first color, but none on the second color. The first one looks better than the second, but they are both pretty faded looking.
And I was going to ask all the same questions avocadolady just did.

last year i made a tie-die thread and people posted links and stuff... i'm not sure how to find it on here though I misspelled it and it's titled as "how to tye-dye" ( i think)
