Songs of Experience is really good. I don't like October, Pop, Rattle and Hum, or No Line on the Horizon.
Yeah I'd put October and No Line in that category. Pop has some good shit, but also some of the better stuff is like b-sides and remixes. I like some of the original songs off R&H like Desire, Van Diemen's Land and Angel of Harlem. Also the version of ISHFWILF with the choir is pretty awesome, although the film version is better than the album.
This would be much easier voting for favorites than least favorites cause there's a ton of new U2 that I haven't even tried but there are several that I love.

Yeah, but we're gonna run into that problem one way or another at some point and with pretty much any artists. Even Floyd/Beatles I bet there's a good bit of Floyd people aren't familiar with, whether really early or really late era.
I think it's probably unrealistic for only one R.E.M. album to have only one vote, but that's where we are now.

This one is gonna hurt. I was in junior high school when I heard "I Will Follow". R.E.M was my first in-town concert experience with a girl I dug at the time. Green tour. The Connells opened and it ruled.
I like later period R.E.M more than late U2 though. I'm expecting those to go quick.
I can get behind this. However, once we get to the top 5 albums of each band, it'll start to sting a lil. I think as a whole discography, I'd say REM is for sure superior... but it's kind of that Zeppelin vs Sabbath thing, as Zeppelin called at quits about two albums into their decline, while Sabbath continued to put out (some admittedly really good among many bad) albums.
