Has there been talk of GNR touring into 2018? I thought they said the arena run in the fall is it for this cycle? I really doubt we'll see them headline any fests next year, heard there was some talk of new material before they'll tour again.
Is there gonna be a lineup pool again this year? Just curious because I know last year they were due 10/31.. but I also know that interest seems to have plummeted haha
Unless I'm mistaken, the lineup pool happened last year and the lineup came and went without the person running it ever tallying the results. *ahem* Delicious Meatball Sub
Hah, I didn't even realize that! If nobody else wants to run it I wouldn't mind, if others want to participate. Don't wanna step on toes though, I know I've not been around here that long.. I love doing pools and making lists and stuff like that so it'd be kinda fun for me haha
Couple new Billy Corgan interview popped up today, he is leaving the door wide open for a reunion, says everyone is back on the same page.
He has a short fall tour upcoming and James Iha has committments with APC through the end of 2017. If the original Smashing Pumpkins is booked for a fest are they a headliner? That run of Gish, Siamese Dream, And Mellon Collie still holds up 20 years later.

I don’t think they are. That’d be cool as shit if it happened though.

Yeah probably not a headliner. But I'd actually think there could be decent potential for them to come to Roo if they did do a reunion. Seems like something Live Nation would hop on for a package deal and I can't imagine they'd skip Lolla

I don't think so. They are a legacy style booking but without the catalogue or sustained fanbase of most of those types of acts. (E.g., U2, RHCP, Pearl Jam)
I think that they're headliners at Hangout or Firefly but probably not at Bonnaroo. They could maybe be a #4 playing 8:30-10 before an 11:00 headliner, though. Or a late Which a la Cage or Ellie Goulding, or a true LN.
I would freak out for an original pumpkins show. The last pumpkins tour with jimmy a few years ago when they were touring with Manson was so good. The setlist was a complete greatest hits with everything you'd want to hear. If they all get back together though I'd love to hear some deeper stuff of Siamese and melloncollie like silverf*uck, geek USA, bodies, porcelina.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round

As this is the first time it's come up, you can see how much everyone cared.

Fleetwood Mac - Foo Fighters - Frank Ocean - Lana Del Ray
This would be ideal for me.
It feels pretty likely to me that we either get Foo or Jay-Z at #2. If we get Foo, this version seems pretty likely. If it's Jay Z at #2, I think we see Arcade Fire or Killers at #3. Who knows which legacy they dial up, but Fleetwood has to be on the short list.
I know I'm most likely wrong. And it's probably me being biased, but it seems like the smashing pumpkins are bigger than Foo Fighters. didn't they headline Lolla several times, like the overseas Lolla's? Smashing Pumpkins seems like a big get, especially with original members

I would think on a Bonnaroo lineup they are somewhere just north of Blink 182: a 4-8 spot.
I don't think they'd be at Roo though - they seem like they wouldn't take the ego hit to be a non-headliner.

Smashing Pumpkins are more likely for 2019 than 2018. Corgan just put out a solo album and he has dates until mid November so that leaves him like a month and a half to get SP back together and booked for a summer tour.

Don't forget that Foo Fighters have sold out Wembley Stadium and played baseball parks here.

Billy Corgan has been trying to get someone to bite on shelling out for a reunion for 2-3 years now and have gotten no takers. I just don't think the major fests want to make them headliners for whatever reason.

I don't think so.
The Pumpkins headlined Lollapalooza 94 but that was because they got bumped up with Nirvana dropping out/Cobain dying.
Foo Fighters have headlined Glastonbury and fill arenas when they tour the US.
On top of that, Dave Grohl is a media presence, doing carpool karaoke and jamming with acts on the regular. The members of the Smashing Pumpkins are not exactly outgoing, charismatic, or particularly marketable.

I think it'd be really cool to see them headline some smaller fests like Shaky Knees and Riot Fest, but outside of that they're just gonna take up blink-182 spots.
