Another day closer. Day 53 and Band of Horses. Hope you enjoy.
Band of Horses is an American rock band formed in 2004 in Seattle by Ben Bridwell. The band has released five studio albums, the most successful of which is 2010's Grammy-nominated Infinite Arms. On February 24, 2014, Band of Horses released a ten track live album, Acoustic at the Ryman, featuring stripped down versions of some of their best known songs. The album was recorded over two nights in April 2013 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The band played a 13-date run of acoustic performances across the U.S., which commenced on 11 February at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre and concluded on 5 March at The Ryman itself. The band's lineup, which included Mat Brooke for the debut album, has undergone several changes; although the current lineup of Bridwell, Ryan Monroe, Tyler Ramsey, Bill Reynolds, and Creighton Barrett, has been together for several years. Band of Horses' fifth studio album, Why Are You OK, was released in June 2016.
Saw their set last time they were at Hangout. Thought it was great. The band sure seemed to be having a great time. Lot's of smiles up on stage. A band that gives you your money's worth.
Avoiding lightning strikes, tornadoes, high wind, and floods last night, I am thankful that we are only 51 days from Hangout. I selected Weezer for my Tuesday feature.
Weezer is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1992, consisting of Rivers Cuomo (lead vocals, guitar), Patrick Wilson (drums), Brian Bell (guitar, backing vocals, keyboards), and Scott Shriner (bass guitar, backing vocals). Weezer has sold 9.2 million albums in the US and over 17 million worldwide.
After signing to Geffen Records in 1993, the band released its debut self-titled album, also known as the Blue Album, in 1994. Backed by successful music videos for the singles "Buddy Holly", "Undone – The Sweater Song" and "Say It Ain't So", the Blue Album became a triple-platinum success. Weezer's second album, Pinkerton (1996), featuring a darker, more abrasive sound, was a commercial failure and initially received mixed reviews, but went on to achieve cult status and critical acclaim years later. Both the Blue Album and Pinkerton are now frequently cited among the best albums of the 1990s. Following the tour for Pinkerton, bassist Matt Sharp left the band and Weezer went on hiatus.
One of the ten acts I'd like to see at Hangout 2017.
I've seen these guys twice & I'm sure looking forward to seeing them again sometime. I figure they'll close the Surf Stage one night. Latest album very nice ('Thank God for Girls' is killer, IMO) & Rivers is a wonderful guitarist. They play the hits. Might not get them all, but there will be a bunch thrown in there.
Hey jdstultz and djjazzyjoe , us old folks are up early. I was hanging with the early birds before it got hot as hell, grabbing lunch at the restaurant and a great table for one of those 11:30 shows. Some of my favorite shows. I would prefer they ditch some of those hotter than hell mid afternoon shows. That is time to be in the pool, Gulf, or in the shade. I wish they could play morning sets and later evening sets and everybody jump in the pool or Gulf from hot as hell to hot as hell afternoon. Dig? The 11:00 cut off is ridiculous. For three nights, deal with it Gulf Shores.
Agree with you, Bob. I was in there at 1100 & didn't mind sparse crowds at all. Sad that they would cut music because a bunch of hungover partiers can't get going by time fest kicks off.
So krisplettuce and his lovely bride, sparkysarah , mattlikesrock , beachdude , and maybe beachbob are planning on going to this thing. Who else? The more I go through these youtube clips, the more I'm thinking I need to buy a ticket and figure out commuting and parking.
thebrewdude along with wife and friends will be there. Ocean Reef baby!!

I'll be there with my family for the 6th year and VERY much looking forward to it!
Also, when did Band of Horses play Hangout previously? I've been a fan for a long time and have never seen them. Did I miss them or did they play the first year of the festival??? Can't wait to see them!

Thursday 49 days out. How about Young the Giant today? Young the Giant is an American rock band that formed in Irvine, California, in 2004. The band's line-up consists of Sameer Gadhia (lead vocals), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Eric Cannata (guitar), Payam Doostzadeh (bass guitar), and Francois Comtois (drums). Formerly known as The Jakes, Young the Giant was signed by Roadrunner Records in 2009 and they released their eponymous debut album in 2010. The band's first three singles, "My Body", "Cough Syrup" and "Apartment" reached the top five of the US Alternative Songs chart.
Oh yeah...I like this. Have a great day Inforoohangoutouters.
I counted 11 Inforooers going to Hangout 2017. May pick up a couple more stragglers like me. I think I will just grab a GA ticket after the 1st of April and drive or Uber back and forth to the show from Orange Beach. Anyone know if they have Uber in OBA/Gulf Shores?

I know they did at one point, and i remember them stopping it at one point as well. Not sure of current status.
Well, by my count the list of folks diving into the Gulf in 49 days is up to 15 plus two maybes. That is about half of my "Inforoo Regulars" list. Sounds like the Ocean Reefers are hosting the after party. Can I get witness?
