Fucking refs. Clock was supposed to stop since we got a first down. Should have had at least one more play. Dammit.
Shouldn't have had to waste the last timeout - should have had about 12 seconds to spike it, run another play, then call timeout and kick, if needed. Definitely blew that one.

That was a great game. As Herbstreit said, there's not much Clemson can look back on with regret in that game. They played a hard game until the final whistle. The big plays just broke against them this game. Trust me. As a Tennessee fan, I know what it's like to think that you have Alabama beat only to come up short in the end. Swinney has built a great program there at Clemson, and I fully expect them to be in the hunt again next season.
That being said, sang_xcx's tears are indeed delicious and...
Clemson showed out. That was a lot of heart and fight there, even in the face of defeat. These are the kinds of games that make the men on the field better people. Don't ever stop fighting.
Despite the final outcome, nobody can deny the Tiger's prowess now and in the future.
I don't even like these teams but I left this game impressed. This was a great way to close out the season.
Considering it was Pac-12 refs last night, you might wanna hold off on conference wars for a little. Also, I think the announcers did fairly well last night with talking Clemson up, and Herbstreit gets called for SEC bias more than your average ESPN announcer.
Edit: for further proof, ESPN's "Way Too Early" 2016 Top 25 has Clemson in the #1 spot (http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/14514317/clemson-tigers-alabama-crimson-tide-lead-2016-way-too-early-top-25)
What a game. What a year. The things that beat us were the things that were our weaknesses all year. Special teams are horrible. We have to fix that. Our defense is over aggressive and gives up too many big plays. But I don't know how you leave the TE wide open twice? They played great other than those few big plays. No one stopped our offense all season. Not even the mighty Bama. We'll be even better next year when we get Mike Williams back. Deshaun may be the best college QB ever. He is seriously amazing. You get players with lots of hype but how often do they ever totally live up to it? We heard he would be a Heismam candidate. We heard that he'd have us playing for championships and he's done it. Still proud to be a Clemson tiger right now and I can't wait till next year.
And wow go Houston at 8. Good job for them. Just imagine if they didn't lose to UConn.
I watched much of the game last night. Very good game. Was pulling for Clemson cause (1) Steph and (2) Bama winning all the time is getting old. Yeah they lost, but aside from a couple plays they put everything out there - can't be too mad about their performance.
I kinda feel like this season was the first rocky movie. My tigers didn't win the belt but they went the distance and won a lot of respect. I just hope next year will be like rocky 2.

The Shoop hire is already paying off in that Reeves-Maybin just announced he is returning for his senior year. He had been leaning toward leaving early.
1 Alabama(61) 2 Clemson 3 Stanford 4 Ohio State 5 Oklahoma 6 Michigan State 7 TCU 8 Houston 9 Iowa 10 Ole Miss 11 Notre Dame 12 Michigan 13 Baylor 14 Florida State 15 North Carolina 16 LSU 17 Utah 18 Navy 19 Oregon 20 Oklahoma State 21 Wisconsin 22 Tennessee 23 Northwestern 24 Western Kentucky 25 Florida
Spoiler alert: If you expected Tennessee to move up after crushing their bowl opponent, you're going to be disappointed.
I think it's kind of dumb MSU and Oklahoma aren't top 4. I get they lost (embarrassingly) but doesn't making the playoffs mean you were a top 4 team? When you have a playoff of the top 4 teams, some are going to lose, but the games are played to find a winner from those four. The other bowls are tertiary pageantry. Stanford looked great against Iowa, but I don't think they should finish third, when they couldn't finish top 4 previously.

and it is contributing to the turmoil at Penn state, which is wonderful to see.
If the playoffs had looked like this we wouldn't have been bored to death with the two blowouts. And of course major football games shouldn't be played on New Year's Eve anyway, though the NCAA won't learn from the huge drop in ratings their schedule caused. Every football fan I know wanted to watch the two semifinal games but few did because they had other things to worry about.

Ahh who cares? Final AP doesn't mean a whole lot unless you finish #1. I do find it funny though that NW is only one spot below UT, meaning that they should be two evenly matched teams if they played, when we know that just isn't the case. Iowa at #9 is kinda funny to me as well. I think they would lose to almost all of the teams ranked 10-25, and lose to some of them pretty badly.

Yep! I've heard some rumors that he could get Cam Sutton back as well. I think our D could be real good next year, like real, real good. Shoop seemed like a pretty sharp guy in his interviews.
My Dad said he saw one way-too-early poll for next year that had UT at #4. I was like whoa, pump the brakes man. I hope our guys don't get too bigheaded, although most of the other polls I've seen have us anywhere from 8-15 which seems about right. We just have to beat Florida dammit, then I'll really consider us to be back.
