Jamie xx and Bully are at the top of my list, but this has been another stacked month. Also as a side note I am loving all the great female fronted bands this year. Bully, Hop Along, Diet Cig, and Colleen Green have all had some strong albums.
Sleater Kinney and screaming females were this year too.
Just mentioning two albums from 5-6months ago for quacks sake.
Courtney Barnett was one of my favorite shows at roo. and she has hardly been forgotten around these parts.
I was more commenting on the original post, not yours, although, you should have mentioned her as well.
Courtney Barnett in New Orleans is still the one of the best show I have seen this year. I was just mentioning some lesser known bands who are gaining a lot of attention. That is why I didn't mention Waxahatchee, SK, etc. either.

Loving this new Kacey Musgraves. I was worried she'd get sucked into the machine of pop music but its so confident and builds fantastically on her first album.
I feel like everyone is just gonna wait til the last minute to spring their well-deserved Migos vote on us.
Lawl. Anyway, I went back to look at the June cheat sheet list and now I feel slightly under-qualified to vote this month because there's so much on it that I haven't listened to yet (despite previously thinking I had given June releases a pretty extensive listen so far). That said, I am quite sure I could listen to the entire list, start to finish, and my vote would remain where it is now:
Lots of honorable mentions, in no particular order because I was overwhelmed with how good this month was, tbh:
Florence + the Machine - How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful Of Monsters and Men - Beneath The Skin Ryn Weaver - The Fool Kacey Musgraves - Pageant Material Miguel - Wildheart Thundercat - They Beyond / Where Giants Roam (idk what people decided on this counting as a full album or not, and thus whether or not it is a voteable option but definitely worthy of honorable mention for me) Son Lux - Bones
There are others I really liked too. And many I haven't listened to yet. Yay June.
EDIT: Damn, juuuust listened to the Vince Staples for the first time. Shit it is really really good. Definitely makes it onto that honorable mention list

Is the deadline tomorrow? or a week from tomorrow?
A week from tomorrow. Also, remember that starting July 10th records will start being released on Fridays. Which would put the final day to cast your vote for July on August 7th.
Let's try to keep the album art a little more manageable in size. I can tell what album it is without it being the entire width of the website.
I know this is partly directed at me (and I'm by no means offended - I get why bigger images can be annoying), but I have to admit: initially it was by accident that I posted such a large version of the image, but then once it posted that big, and I got all distracted by the pretty colors, I then forgot to edit and switch to a smaller one...and now, well, I am just gonna keep it. Pinky promise to reign it in on the size of my July vote doe.

This is tough. I love the Hot Chip and Jamie XX albums. But i really DON'T like country and Kacy Musgraves is honestly the first time i have actually enjoyed a full country album, which is saying a lot. I also am really enjoying the Leon Bridges album as well!
Great freaking month, can i just cast a quarter vote for all of those?

I thought Hot Chip was last month?[/quote]
You right you right, June was such a blur... Makes voting somewhat easier..
A lot of great albums this month. I think I connected to Jenny's album the most. It's just a solid concept album from start to finish. It's just as great as Innocence is Kinky.
2. Jamie XX (close second) 3. Florence & the Machine Tie 4. Leon Bridges Tie 4. Kacey Musgraves Tie 4. Bully
I am also still loving last months's My Morning Jacket album - might be a top five contender this year for AotY. The only song I don't like is the first song on the album.
