I was there too and we snuck on the floor through someone who works at the TD Garden. The mix was definitely muddy, but we had wax earplugs which made everything sound better. I can imagine it sounding worse in the seats though.
Agreed with your points on the TLOP tracks and the fact that we got a shorter show without the deep cuts/slower tracks. Other than that, it was awesome, the floor experience was wild. I liked him better at MIA Philly, but finally got to hear Flashing Lights and Gold Digger, and Blood on the Leaves killed it once again.
I was in Loge 5, which is to the right of the sound booth, and not that far from the floor. I had earplugs and it didn't make a whole lot of difference. I was in a very similar spot for the Yeezus show at the Garden 3 years ago and the sound was much better, the production itself was much better, and the setlist was much better (even considering that he played all 10 Yeezus songs, which has a couple of ehhh selections).
I hate to say it, but last night felt pretty half-ass.
I was on the floor close to Loge 2, so not far from you. Too bad that it didn't make a difference. Will take your word that the 2013 show was better (which I sadly missed), but Yeezus was a much better album than TLOP so that's not too surprising.
You guys are mad that he's playing TLOP tracks on the TLOP tour?
But note how he stuck to the TLOP bangers for the Boston show and neglected a lot of the quality slower tracks. Hell, he hasn't even attempted No More Parties in LA thus far for this tour, perhaps because there's more actual rapping on there.
Yeah. I can go to almost any club and watch people dance like maniacs to Fade. It requires no further effort from Kanye, and that was one of the most disappointing things.

seeing him at the meadows, im wondering whether the lack of his current stage set up will be a good or bad thing. i think it'll actually have him focusing on performance, and gives an oppurtunity for some special guests or a choir *cough cough ultra light beam cough*.
Anyone go to MSG 1 last night? Good show, though dunno if the $200+ price tag for a floor ticket was worth it for an hour and a half show. The bass too...my insides are still vibrating. Sound quality overall was really lacking. There were moments where it took me 20-30 seconds to figure out what song he was playing because the mix was so muddy.
Stellar setlist, although there were no crazy surprises. Would have been great to hear DIAND, All Falls Down and/or Amazing, as Indy got all three on the first night.
Spotted a bunch of celebrities in the section behind me - Kim K, Chris Rock, Puffy, Q-Tip, Chance the Rapper and Swizz Beatz. Apparently Alicia Keys was with Swizz but I didn't spot her. Tiesto walked right by me at the end of the show - two 16 year old kids started freaking out about it. Wouldn't have known it was him otherwise.
Tried to get merch but the line was ridiculously long and didn't move much. If you're looking to cop merch for this tour, definitely get there early and plan to wait in line for a little while.
I was thoroughly impressed with his show in Boston. I was front row in one of the lower Loge's near the sound booth and agree the bass did overshadow a lot of his vocals but I was stoked about the set list, besides being salty he left out Real Friends. I also went into the show without knowing the set list so maybe that overall surprise element played a big factor for me!
Looking to trade my ticket (sec 84) and $$ for a GA for the Austin show. As great as it will still be up there, I need to experience being on that floor.

You are half right, but seriously that entire experience was basically a big celebration of Kanye. If you like Kanye, how could you not like the show? what the hell were you expecting going into it?
I was expecting it to be great. It wasn't. He was out there on his less-interesting-than-anticipated platform for an hour and a half and went through the motions. I wanted to hear and enjoy the songs I love, and I largely couldn't because the mix was that bad. I want to be able to hear the synths on Flashing Lights and the Mayfield horns on Touch the Sky! For a production so big, and for someone who is such a maniacal perfectionist, it's really baffling to me that the sound was so muddied.
I hoped he'd play the songs from TLOP that are great and actually prominently feature - Famous, Saint Pablo, 30 Hours, Real Friends, No More Parties in LA, Wolves, FML - and he did Famous and Wolves. Feedback, Freestyle 4 and Waves are good songs and I'm glad he did them, but Pop Style? Father Stretch My Hands? Pt 2? Facts (which is still the corniest shit Ye's ever put out)? The one verse from Highlights? Who would rather hear those than any of the five I mentioned before? I get that he could't not do/use Ultralight Beam and Fade, but ending with them was so anticlimactic because he essentially mugged for 10 straight minutes before being taken off his platform.
There's 20 songs on TLOP, right? He's obviously not going to do Silver Surfer, Frank's Track or Low Lights. So 17 tracks, really. He did 12 of those 17 and missed five of the seven best songs on the record. He could have drawn the TLOP songs from a hat and had a better setlist, and that's what's frustrating.
Maybe my expectations were too high. But compare it to this, the show he put on the last time he was at the TD Garden (which had impeccable sound)

Well the real problem with comparing Yeezus to Saint Pablo tours is:
Yeezus the album is wayyy better than Pablo. For me anyway.
And I didn't see the Yeezus tour because the closest date was 3 hours away on a day I had to work. But it was clear that way more effort went into the choreography and planning of that show. The mountain, Jesus, the dancers, the different acts. It told a story.
It sounds like Saint Pablo is an expanded setlist version of the show he played at Bonnaroo. Which is fine, but isn't him at his best. I don't think Kanye half asses much (though the verses on That Part and Jukebox Joints come to mind), but this show definitely sounds like a 3/4 ass compared to what he's capable of. Still going to go and have a blast, but my expectations are slightly tempered. Oh and the merch sucks compared to Yeezus too.

Breaking news: Kanye is broke as fuck.
He jacked up ticket prices and cut production costs. 1+1=2.

Source? Cause my opinion is he just isnt being pushed creatively to the extent he was before Fantasy and Yeezus. Your thinking is a little too cynical for me to agree with
