I am both impressed and alarmed by your hospitality. I love me some inforoosters. But that doesn't mean anyone who posts on these boards is automatically welcome in my home. I and everyone else who's met us knows that you're a nicer person than I am. I also know that with your pack of Presa Canarios and collection of automatic weapons and vintage samurai swords, you can take care of yourself. But don't go overboard on the "mi casa, su casa" thing.
thank you but It is not like I am posting the address online. I feel pretty certain that I could screen any respondents and direct any undesirables to another location far away.
i am probably too trusting, yes. but I can't help it
You people who work in professions where you help people just have a whole different mindset than those of us who work in professions where we try to screw each other over.
If you swing through Georgia I would love to host you. I live a little over an hour east of Atlanta in a lakefront house. I will feed you, give you the guest room and make you WAFFLES if you so desire. or whatever.
For that matter, I will host ANY Inforooster who wants or needs a place to stay or get away.

But I can stay at your place when I get to San Fran right?
They tell us "Rock'n'roll is the devil's music." Well, let's say we know that rock is the devil's music, and we know that it is, for sure … At least he fuckin' jams! If it's a choice between eternal Hell and good tunes, and eternal Heaven and New Kids on the fuckin' Block … I'm gonna be surfin' on the lake of fire, rockin' out.

I've been here for over a month now, but like all places I've visited I'm going to be leaving soon. The plan is to head north. San Francisco, Eugene, Portland, Seattle and find some cool places in between. So again, we'll be looking for some free or cheap places to stay if anyone can help us out. I'm really looking forward to getting back on the road and meeting new people!

Of course!
So uhhhhh we're going to be in San Francisco on Friday and still need a place stay for a few days... any advice? Not looking for someone to host us, just a place to stay.
Update: We're currently spending time around Lake Tahoe and god it's one of if not the most beautiful place I've ever been. I may come back and live here someday.

If you haven't already been, I highly recommend checking out Emerald Bay. The drive is a bit nerve-wracking, but the views are fantastic. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emerald_Bay_State_Park

It's seriously amazing. I still talk about it quite often. It's the only place I've ever been where there can be snow under your feet, a desert to your right, and a beautiful lake to your left.

I don't understand how people can come here and not stay here forever. It's going to be very hard to leave

I don't blame you. Having traveled more since then, it's not my favorite snowboarding town, but as far as a place to live? It's tough to beat. It's perfectly sandwiched in between the very best of what the West Coast has to offer. Unfortunately, that was my only trip to California, so I'm really looking forward to experiencing what the rest of the state has to offer.
