I'm sure there's more than a few musically inclined people here on the boards - would any of you want to get together during Roo? I was thinking about a Wednesday night jam session. I see drum circles and such at smaller fests more than I do at Roo, but I'm probably gonna be bringing my djembe and perhaps my guitar anyway. I think it'd be cool to get a motley caravan of Inforoosters together to parade through the campgrounds Wednesday night. Horns, guitars, glockenspiels, drums, maracas, kazoos, didgeridoos and whatever else you can bring, all joining together for a drunken cacophony of festival delight. Anyone else down?
Edit, now that things are getting more organized:
We'll be doing this from 10-2 on Wednesday night, probably starting off near the Arch. We'll be compiling song suggestions for the next month or so, then I'll do a poll thread to decide what we'll playing. Our band name is The Traveling Roosters. It is known.
The people of Inforoo has voted on our setlist and the votes are in! Here are the top 12 songs the Inforoo community thinks we should play:
1. The Beatles - All You Need Is Love 2. Neil Diamond - Sweet Caroline 3. Outkast - Hey Ya 4. Biz Markie - Just a Friend 5. Prince - 1999 6. Old Crow Medicine Show - Wagon Wheel 7. Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes - Home 8. Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell - Ain't No Mountain High Enough 9. The Animals - House of the Rising Sun 10. Rick Astley - Never Gonna Give You Up 11. Warren G feat. Nate Dogg - Regulators 12. MGMT - Kids
I'll have an accordion and a jazz drummer with a single snare. We didn't bring the instruments down to brunch last year, but a Wednesday night jam session sounds like the bee's-knees. I'll stay tuned....
Glad to see some interest for this! We can organize things some more as Roo gets closer. The only snag is that last year they closed off BFE Wednesday night and wouldn't let anyone into the general grounds until the next day (which I thought was bullshit, but I digress). So if you're in BFE you might be SOL. Otherwise though I think this could be pretty awesome.
i went to a smaller fest a while back, and all fucking night long i heard this stupid fucking cow bell being rang in the distance, to absolutely no beat whatsoever... just constantly, for hours. so i finally decided to go on a little walk around the grounds, and i found the person with the goddamnmuthafuckin cow bell. to no surprise it was this one fucking zombie'd out hippie chick, all by herself in the middle of the path just hitting this fucking cow bell with her eyes closed and swaying back in forth. to this day i have nightmares about that damn cow bell. just:

I'll bring some monkybunney-made, crazyasssed rewired children's toys and we can make some circuit-bending noisetronica. It will probably sound like an awful amateurish racket but just a bit better than the Skrillybear superjam.
I'm bringing this guy along with me ... plugs into a car or porta speaker easily
Although I will be in the VIP section and arriving Thursday morning with the inforoo crew for VIP... too late?
Thursday morning meaning 3-4 a.m. or actual Thursday daylight morning? I'm sure there'll be some jamming going on Thursday as well, but I'd wager that it'll be more spur-of-the-moment just because people will already be out seeing shows and whatnot by then. But if you're coming early early Thursday morning, we might still be up making noise in some form or fashion.

And clearly you aren't a rapist (I hope) but the way you pop into any thread where a woman happens to be lamenting her lack of ride to Bonnaroo and tell them to come hop on your bus sounds extremely rapey.[
