Crown and Angel Duster are both excellent and the transition from All Due Respect>Love Again is perfect.
So... perhaps it is you who is a fuckboy.
Crown is pretty good. Due Respect isn't goo, Love Again is an unlistenable mess. Can't bake a cake with rotten eggs. They were trying to be too clever by half.
El-p has some of the best lines on RTJ2. Y'all are crazy, give the man some credit
"You can all run naked backwards through a field of dicks"
"The bright lights of fuckery stuck in me automatic I’ll tea bag a piranha tank, heart barely beatin'"
The two best lines on this thing are courtesy of our boy El-P
Fuckboys
That first line sounds like something written by a 16 year old. Its pretty sophomoric and not even clever.
There's no double meaning to it or anything, it's not supposed to be clever. It's just an absurd line that just goes over the top of all the other insane shit they're saying. It's awesome
I've only been able to listen to RTJ2 once. My first impression was none of it was as good as the first album. But I definitely need to listen more. I'd feel like a real fuckboy voting for Ben Howard, which would be my vote right now.

Love Again is sex rap. I can't exactly sing along with it, but the beat is a great grimy thing. And Gangsta boo's verse at least makes it equal opportunity domination. Honestly, I think she holds her own better than De La Rocha or Big Boi on RTJ1.
Anyway, I think its a more consistent project than RTJ1. That Prince Paul/Chest Rockwell guest was worse than Love Again by half. The beats are great. They're talking about more serious topics on almost every track. It might be the rap album of the year if it wasn't for Freddie Gibbs & Madlib.

Then call me a fuckboy, because RTJ2 isn't that great. Suffering badly from Next Album Syndrome, and it's not as good as RTJ. As others have mentioned, it falls off severely in the second half. At some point, I'd like to see El-P vary his style a little bit, because everything he's produced since 2012 has been extremely similar. I don't have a problem with his verses on RTJ2, though I think he's better in small doses - his verse on "The Last Huzzah (remix) is one of the truly great verses of the 2010s - and I feel fatigue setting in whenever he has too much space.
Caribou is a legitimately great record and a contender for album of the year. Also, Gorgon City exists, so I look forward to everyone pretending they're the best when they start popping up on festival lineups in the spring, even though none of you are mentioning them this month.

I'm just being salty. Caribou is a great album. RTJ2 is getting unfair criticism in this thread, though. At least in my eyes (or ears).
maybe it just seems that way because its one of the few places without a super boner for the album. I think all the criticism here is on point, reasonable, and well explained as opposed to "lol it six"
IX by ...And you Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead was released in Europe and became available on Spotify on October 21. It is not being released domestically until November. So, should we treat this as an October or November release?
Did you guys know that "fuckboy" draws it's origins from prison slang, where it was used as a derogatory term directed towards those on the "receiving" end of male-male intercourse? Essentially, it draws upon the notion that those who participate in such activities are inherently shameful and therefore worthy of your disrespect.
