Just finished season 2 on Netflix, just about to watch the season 3 premier on demand. Holy crap, this show is good. Can we talk about it? Let's talk about it.
I don't know about the second episode of season 3. Have not seen it yet. But episode one was was quacking fantastic. Not sure we still know how he did it. All I know is I want to be Molly in those first two minutes.

I haven't seen the second one yet either. I think they'll probably keep throwing out random theories, or just let it stay a mystery.
ahahaha oh my god, that scene between Moriarity and Sherlock from the Season 3 premier... oh my lord. That's the stuff that weird creepy female fan fiction is made of.
Man, I have to say I was not crazy about the Watson wedding episode, but knowing them, this next episode on Sunday will show me 400 things I missed in the wedding episode that were awesome.
I also am afraid that Mary is in for some bad times. I remember them saying they weren't going to add any new characters that weren't created by Arthur Conan Doyle, and I'm pretty sure John Watson never had a kid in the stories.

He did not have a wife for very long...
Really? I thought they were married for a few years or so, but I'm not exactly a Sherlock Holmes scholar so that's going on my vague recollection of the ones I read in middle school and high school

I'm super excited there are people here who watch it! I have some friends here who watch it but they'll wait till it comes on American TV.
Meaning I have a LONG time to wait to discuss it with anyone.
Given the (relatively) cheerful nature of the last two episodes I can only imagine the season finale on Sunday is going to be rough! I read that one on the writers referred to the episode by just saying "so sorry".... And Mark Gatiss said the cliffhanger was even worse than the Reichenbach Fall episode...
I feel like the BBC exists just to rip our hearts out. Rip them out and then step on them with cleats.
Incredible show for real. Benedict Cumberbatch nails it. Only bad thing about the show is that there aren't more episodes in each season! Planning on watching episode two season three right about.... Now

Awesome show. It really has it down. Quality over quantity. They film it without interference of the actors schedules. It's the best case scenario for everyone. Looking forward to the next season later this month!

Seriously, I am such a Moriarty fanboy. I went through all the stages of grief with him throughout the three episodes this season. The first episode I was "Hey, it's the first episode. They want to let it build a little first. Deal with Sherlock being back and all." The second episode was "Well, the middle episode tends to be less big story related (see Hound of the Baskervilles). Plus, it's Watson's wedding. That has to carry some weight." The final episode was "Who the fuck is that old guy? Ok, he licked that woman's face. That's creepy. He's no Moriarty, but he will do. Maybe Moriarty is putting him up to this." to "Oh snap. Mary is the bad guy!" to "Hey! It's Moriaty! Wait... they just confirmed he is dead. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!" to "Oh shit. Sherlock just shot that dude in the face! What are they going to do for a villain now?" to "Who would Sherlock miss? OF COURSE I MISSED YOU, YOU! Wait... what else happened this season because I totally forgot."
Dave is going to be so happy. I did not think they could top that first episode of the new season. But they did. Mary. Shocker. And I thought the bad guy was even more disgusting than Moriarty. The way in which he defiled his victims so personally was revolting. The interactions between the brothers were delightful. Can't wait for everyone to get to view these.

The twist with Mary did totally catch me off guard. I had a little twinge when they mentioned how Mary and the other woman both wore the same perfume and he smelled it on the chair, but I dismissed it as being ridiculous because surely Mary was just an ordinary woman, right? Speaking of which, I did enjoy how they touched on Watson's motivations for staying around Sherlock. It was a fleshing out of his character that I thought really made since especially in the context of him choosing to stay with Mary.
I completely agree on the bad guy. He was a different kind of villain than Moriarty. Moriarty has that bit of playfulness to him that makes you want him to stay around kind of like the Joker in Batman. The bad guy in the finale was just repulsive. When they made you think that he was going to get away with it, I was actually really pissed off. I could watch Sherlock and Moriarty play off each other forever. Watching that dude violate people would have gotten old quick.
That flicking of the face. If Sherlock did not kill him, I was. John knew it was her as soon as he saw the chair back. The perfume just solidified the fact.
Every time Magnussen flicked John's face, I flinched. He did it with such glee... and it was terrifying not knowing who was going to snap first. When the helicopter got there, I was waiting for John to pull his gun. Then, when it was Sherlock, my jaw just dropped.
And Mary. DAMN.
I need to watch it again because Moriarty gave me a case of whiplash at the end.
I'm hoping that since they have the 4th and 5th seasons planned out, we won't have to wait 10 years for the next one!
