From the article on the Titans:
"Not that Titans fans will notice. Remember: Titans fans are just off-duty SEC fans. These are the people who spend every Saturday watching UT lose and then root for Alabama in the national title game at the end of the season as a way of mooching off a bit of their glory. Watching the Titans is just a filler activity for them. Well, Lurlene done kicked me out of the camper agin. Giss aw'll go watch them Titans over at Earl's camper! SEC SEC SEC!!!"

F*ck. They are on to me.
I unfortunately know a lot of people who are like this, minus the trailer trash stuff. I have more invested in the Titans than UT (sorry), so it bums me out.
That Jets article was the laziest thing I've possibly ever read about the team. I don't care if you make fun of them, but at least be clever and witty about it, not "derrrrrr BUTTFUMBLE! LOLZ"
David Lee (the Jets' QB coach) has worked extensively with Quinn and Quinn knows the style of offense they run.
This was done for one of two reasons: Sanchez is hurt for an extended period of time (likely) or Sanchez is going to be cut (not likely).
They need someone besides Matt Simms to be a backup and the backup QB market is like sifting through a landfill, so what's one piece of trash compared to another?

Just because you're upset, don't go pointing the finger at Mr. Magary. "Why Your Team Sucks" is about the best piece of NFL writing going.
It's lazy. I could write a much funnier piece tearing the Jets apart. But how could I compete with such witty commentary as:
EVERY LIVING SOUL ON EARTH already knows that he's a bust.
Really? Every living soul on earth (hyperbole, I get it) knows Geno is a bust? He's played 1 half of NFL football.
Then the whole "pretend the NFL didn't have the Jets" thing is just idiotic. The Jets are a top-10 valued NFL franchise and top-15 anything-franchise in the world. It's a flagship franchise of the NFL (laugh all you want, it's true) and they would cut 20 other teams before the Jets even got mentioned.
The Jets are one of the winningest teams in the NFL since 2000, have more playoff trips than half the league in that time, have only had 1 losing season in the past 5....but sure, they're the laughinstock of the NFL because ESPN runs the buttfumble 34985734895738534589 times a year like the unoriginal clown shoes that they are.
Look, I get that the Jets are fun to laugh at, I don't even care when people tear into them, but this article was lazy and boring. It's not 2012 anymore, find some new jokes.

For me, I just dislike Quinn. F*ck Notre Dame.
Trust me, there are plenty of QBs I would have preferred, but when you're adding a guy this late in the game I'm okay with going for familiarity.

You should probably read through the rest of the "Why Your Team Sucks" articles. I'm just saying.
I read most of them, but when the Why Your Team Sucks article for the Jets sounds like Manish Mehta and Rich Cimini's greatest hits? Sub-par.
I love Drew, Deadspin and almost everything they put out over there, this was just a swing and a miss for me.
FWIW, I think people are being too tough on your boys. That line came out at like +9.5 for them, that's just outrageous. As it stands it's still 7 or 7.5, that's tough to justify with all the issues the Broncos have had this offseason. I won't jinx them by betting, though, don't worry.
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.

I agree. I get it, I guess. When you lose big names like Reed, Lewis, and Boldin, people are going to be like "OMG HOW DO YOU REPLACE ALL THAT!" But, if you really look at it I think the team will be fine. Until another receiver steps up I'll be a little worried about the Boldin trade (predicting it will be Marlon Brown, rookie from UGA). Reed's production and health concerns don't justify the salary anymore (he's still a ball hawk, but has really struggled with tackling the last couple seasons). Kruger was a really good player, but I think Dummervil is an upgrade. Losing Ellerbe is tough, but Daryl Smith is a really underrated MLB, who I think will show out this year. Things change every day in the NFL, but one of the few constants is Ozzie Newsome and his knack for being one of the best GMs in the league.
Broncos are scary on paper, but when you break it down they have holes, just like every other team in the league. I won't go so far as guaranteeing a Raven's victory, but I'm totally confident in their ability to beat Denver tomorrow. Our pass rush can get to Peyton, and Champ Bailey can't hang with Torrey Smith on the deep routes all game, I don't think. So I like the way the match-ups work for Baltimore.
I thought the "Why Your Team Sucks" articles, well....sucked. They were pretty stupid. I felt like the author of the articles was more a casual fan of the game, and doesn't really know what he's talking about.
I think we need to start a Jets thread. I'm not trying to bash on you Flanz, but i don't get why people love to talk about them so much.

I've always said I'll talk about any team, but for whatever reason it gravitates back to the Jets.
What do you think of Trestman? Might he be the guy to corral Hay Cutler?

Champ Bailey out week 1.
Kinda surprised. I knew he wasn't practicing, but I figured it was a situation where they just wanted to get him as much rest as possible knowing, as a veteran, he could come in without missing a beat. Broncos down 2 defensive starters (3 if you count the loss of Dummervil), could mean trouble, we will see.

I like what he's done so far, but I don't even think he or the Bears trust Jay completely. Emery has said that they are not doing any contact negotiations until the season is over, and they have something close to twenty guys who are in the last year of their deal, Cutler included. So they are putting themselves in a position to completely rebuild if they have a disappointing year. I'm more excited about Emery than I am Trestman. In recent years the Bears biggest downfall has been their draft selections. Emery's guys, while still to early to tell, are showing great promise. Which is exciting.
I know it's not you, and it's not just here. It's in all of NFL discussion. People just seem to love to discuss the Jets.

probably because you have guys like Flanzo that refuse to believe their team isn't good.
Shut the f*ck up, Sang.
I refuse to think the Jets are the worst team in football, because last year they weren't the worst team in football with a less talented roster and harder schedule.
