Doesn't make it any less funny at all the people flipping about about Northern Illinois when teams like Louisville and Wisconsin are in there.
Louisville isn't equally as bad, but i agree it's still bad. As far as Wisconson is concerned, blame Jim Tressel for being an outlaw and Nebraska for choking it off. Not that I'd be anymore excited to see Nebraska - Stanford.
The real savior of this years bowl season is obviously the title game. Also, Kansas St - Oregon should be a shootout (Oregon will take it though).

I don't think anyone is saying it makes up for Louisville and Wisconsin, but at least we can see why they made it in. But why would NIU? Does anyone really believe they are the 15th best team in the country??? They had their chance to beat qualifying conference teams and they couldn't. What makes anyone think they can beat even a mediocre team when they couldn't beat 4-8 Iowa? They won by a td vs 1-11 Kansas. That is pretty sad. I dare to stretch, but I believe even UT could've beaten these 2 teams and by much more than a td. So then you say, ok, but maybe winning out in the MAC has its merits. So who is 2nd? Kent St, who got creamed by Kentucky....case closed. These 2 teams just beat up their MAC opponents, but couldn't beat even the worst teams of a larger conference.
Chris Peterson is a fantastic coach (fingers crossed he doesn't go to Texas).
If what I have read on him via the UT coaching search holds water, he is not super interested in leaving Boise St. Then again, nobody really knows but him.
Yeah I've kind of read the same thing but citizens of Austin seem to think he's holding out all offers for the Texas gig. Of course those idiots would also probably assume Jesus Christ would be after the Longhorn job if he were coaching.
I'm just afraid of what kind of program Peterson could build if he did in fact end up there. Scary stuff.

I fail to see how this is different than what Louisville did. Rutgers was the only other good team, and....well, would you look at that? Who did Rutgers lose to? Kent State. Let's pump the brakes with acting like the Big East should be held in higher regard than the MAC. More notable doesn't mean more talent.
And why did Wisconsin make it in? Because OSU and PSU are both on suspension.
2007 Fiesta Bowl was probably the best game I have ever watched. Hook and lateral and a Statue-of-liberty, we can only hope NIU gives us something close to that, remember, they are playing an ACC team. I think Louisville is better than some give credit, but we will be ready to play against coach Strong.

Sang you know who will win by 3TDs?
LSU will.
I just wish LSU had the kind of offense that could outdo 70-33. I also wish that I could watch the game, but, alas, I'll have more important things to attend to on the 31st

Scrog do you know if Omarius Hines is getting much playing time? I coached him and his 2 brothers. He was recruited from us as a receiver but I think Florida has moved him all over the place since then. I actually got to meet Urban Meyer when he was down recruiting him.

We got a few miles out of him. Good player. We did not pass a lot this year, but he got his hands on the ball a few times and a couple of TDs. I think we have him listed as a TE, but if I saw him on the outside as well.

they might beat us, but it will be a lot closer than that.
I coach at the high school/town I'm from. Corsicana High School
He made high school CB's look silly. Figured it would be difficult for him with the coaching changes and all. If anything the Florida program definitely bulked that kid up. He probably put on about 40 pounds of muscle after leaving us. He had tons of offers and we were nervous about him going there because all of the competition at wide out. At least he got an education out of the deal though.
And yeah TE sounds right with the weight he put on. Think he went from WR, RB, LB, H-Back. Too bad you guys didn't use him more, that's one athletic tight end right there.

That is very cool you coach, I am sure you know how coaching changes can be difficult for players, but I think we did okay. Hines did get some playing time, but we have a couple of players like him, named Jordon Reed and Trey Burton and they are just as bad ass athletes. If we get a little more out of any of them, we would have played Bama last Saturday and not Georgia. Not saying that any of those three did not give their all, I am saying we were very one dimensional this year and the hands did not get a lot of action. I like that we are now a power running team(the future looks good here and the last name is Taylor ;D ), but we need more balance. It will come.

Yeah, that doesn't sound like Tennessee fans at all. The only reason Saban hasn't been put in the rumor mill is because "we don't want him"

Is he getting the job or just interviewing? I ask because, if it's anything like UT, they are interviewing everybody and their mom.

Given Clemson's success on his side of the ball recently, it's only a matter of time until someone lures him away. A guy that young is not going to stay a coordinator forever.
Texas has had a down year. Lots of identity questions and of course the issue of still having Mac Brown as HC. I think Oregon State has a really good chance. Texas has a freshman rb that is phenomenal but haven't really gotten the most out of him yet. We played against him last year in the state semifinals and he made our defense (which was actually a good one) look like slow children. He's the real deal. They need to get him more integrated into their running game and I think they'd have a much better chance. Still basically a home game considering San Antonio is only 2 hours from Austin and that entire region of the state is Longhorn crazy.
Keep an eye out for that rb, Jonathan Gray. He was the #1 recruit in the country last year. I expect big things from him (and I don't like that one bit considering I'm a Baylor guy).

Clemson fan site said he told them he's not interested in the auburn job. that's hard to believe.
