Rumors are swirling around Detroit that we'll be hosting a music festival at Fort Wayne Park at the end of the summer. It all seems a bit last minute to me, but I am definitely a strong supporter of anything that brings people to Detroit.
Fort Wayne Park is an abandoned historical site with views of the Detroit River, a decidedly very cool setting for a festival.
Here's a blog post that includes a few pictures of the site as well:

There was a trial of sorts last year in Grand Rapids that included: George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic, The Walkmen, The Pharcyde, Lee Fields & the Expressions, Trans Am, Future Islands, Stardeath & White Dwarfs and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.
Here's a laughable description of what to expect from Deadline Detroit:
Detroit may get its own music festival this summer, a mashup of Chicago’s Lollapalooza, Tennessee’s Bonnaroo and the Coachella event near Palm Springs, California.
The Motown Alumni Association was approved with a budget to create the MAA Dedication to the "Motown Revue". We are using original Motown artists for this event. Based on our budget we think we can put together a fantastic show in Detroit at the historic Fort Wayne barracks off Livernois St., in Detroit.
Major alternative, rock and hips hop artists from all music genre will perform within 3 stages on those days; the promoters expect to draw over 100,000 people on those days.
!!!
EDIT: Turns out that was sent out a couple of months ago...
I'm still skeptical they can turn around and sell this in a little over a month with little to no advertising yet.
