Yeah, I don't think Huka would pay that much for AFP, but it would probably take a huge offer like that to get them there. Particularly if they aren't touring.

I posted this earlier in the thread, but I think Mumford and Sons value this year will be way overpriced due to there hype. I don't think the Hangout can win a bargaining war with the bigger, more established fests. The fest might not want to anyways. Definitely a tricky cost-benefit analysis with a capped attendance.

I'm hoping for no Mumford. I can't stand them.
Atoms For Peace would be great. I just want to get a real legit rock headliner. Muse? I like some of their stuff, but eh.... Would rather see them go after a Soundgarden or a similar act.

be prepared for Muse. Its fairly inevitable, really.

We got the Jack White announcement on Feb 3rd last year and then they did most of the lineup announcement by giving us a few names every 30 minutes or something starting at midnight on the morning of Tues Feb 7th I think. We got the lineup on Wed Feb 2nd in 2011. 3 moar weeks of ass-scratching.

WSP will not be at Hangout they are doing a Wharf run the month before.
Even if this happens I don't think it rules them out at Hangout. I think there is a good chance they play and the Black Crowes too. Sabbath on the Beach would be insane..that is what I'm pulling for.

This may be an unpopular take, but I saw Sabbath in 2001 and they weren't that great. I can't imagine they have improved in 12 years.
I would say they are most definitely better now than 12 years ago. Ozzy was a mess....they probably all were. Even with Tommi's cancer I've heard nothing but great reviews of the shows so far and they have a new album out in June. I think they would tear that Beach up.

The possibility of an Ozzy sit in with WSP would make my pants tight. Everyone thought it was gonna happen at the 10/31/10 NOLA show since Ozzy played Voodoo the night before. They went ahead and opened with Faeries Wear Boots just everyone would be able to relax knowing it wasn't happening.

I saw Sabbath at Lolla last year. I wasn't expecting much, but it was actually pretty good. Probably one of the best shows i saw all weekend. Ozzy makes the show that much better. Sabbath on the beach would be pretty f'n sweet!

I'm pretty stumped here running some possibilities. Especially when it gets down to one headliner left.
If say Sabbath and Petty are headliners, who would the third be? It's gotta be a jam band right? Maybe a rapper? The only way I see that as a possibility is if the undercard has a deep jam feel to it.

Pardon my ignorance because I'm not actually up on the jam band touring history and standing within the festival world, but what jam bands are worthy of headlining Hangout besides the usual of course like WSP and Phish?
