That was the worst game Sanchez has ever played. Which is like saying "that was the best game Tom Brady has ever played," only it ended the Jets' season and hopefully Mark's Jets career.

That's what you put on the field Mark? That's the effort you give in an elimination game? Nobody thought you could play worse but yet you found a way to prove everybody wrong? What an absolute disgrace.
And I'm not even really talking about the last snap/fumble. Mangold f*cked it up. Yeah S*itchez probably should have handled it but I'm just absolutely disgusted by the 4 INT's and constant awful throws. I was one of the very few Sanchez supporters left about 1/3 of the way into the season and I regret it. If this guy throws one more pass in a Jets uniform, it's too many. They absolutely need a new QB. And no, it's not Tebow.
Of course he will. What, you think he will switch to Tebow at the last second? He's already been ignorant this far. The fact that Rex has been absolutely refusing to play Tebow, makes me think he was completely against bringing him to New York. This may already be well known though. Idk, don't follow the Jets. Flanz?
Obviously Tebow is a horrible QB,, but Rex should have been starting him. He still has a winning record, and he knows how to manage the game enough to let the defense win it for you. Plus he can create something with his legs. Rex is so determined to keep him on the sidelines, but he probably sacrificed a couple wins, a playoff berth, and his job to do it.
No. For what? They clearly don't see him as the QB for the future. They probably leave Sanchez in their to see if he can play well enough in the last two games to garner the slightest amount of trade interest from a team that needs a back up.

There is a zero percent chance Mark starts. The Locker room finally gave up supporting him last night. A lot of guys spoke to the media (commendable given the fact they would've won that game by 2 scores with even an average QB) and no one defended Mark.
Big Mac is the early favorite to start next week, which is a good thing. See if he can start 2 games in a row without sh*tting himself and we've got improvement, people!

I lived in Gainesville during the Tebow national championship year, and was a serious Tebow fan when he played in college. I really hoped he would be successful in the NFL, regardless of how cheesy he can be at times. Its still so interesting how he gets worse and worse every year at throwing the ball. If Denver didn't already have great bones (as we can all see now that they have a real NFL QB), Tebow might not even be playing football this year.
Last night during my bi-weekly pickup soccer game, a 12 year old kid from the neighborhood where we play put down his basketball and decided he would play with us. We are all at least decently athletic adults who take these games too seriously. This kid was about 4 foot 6 and extremely slow. We all let him play because we are nice people and continuously passed him the ball near the goal so that he could score and feel good about himself. He ruined numerous opportunities. Some guys even let him dribble past them without really trying to stop him.
I say all this to say that I think there are far too many fans out there who are wanting this little boy to be given opportunities to start because he is a genuinely good person. They do not care if he is horrible and ruining the game
So why do you think Tebow isn't starting: McElroy is better, Ryan hates Tebow or Tebow's rib injury?
Tebow was never, ever, ever, ever, ever (despite the media's best work to say otherwise) going to start for the Jets. They said he was going to be a Wildcat QB, and that's what he was. The issue was that Sanchez was sooooooooooo bad that the Jets never had enough sustained drives in a game to make Tebow useful. He was giong to be a late-game power back to crush tired defenses, kind of how the Jets used Shonn Greene against the Cards and Jags.
Also, another huge unreported piece of the puzzle: playing time escalators. If Tebow played X, Y, or Z % of his snaps (forget exact #'s, but the first two were really low and the last wasn't all that high) his contract increased and his salary this season became HUGE. Like $8 million huge for a guy who would be running dives and blocking on punts.
why did they pick up tebow if they are not going to use him?
The always intended to use him "between 2 and 20 snaps a game" (Rex's exact words), depending on the match-up and how the game was going. Tebow, to put it simply, was going to be a close-game power back to move the chains. Go look at the Jets' schedule, the only close games they really had were the past few weeks and the first Dolphins game. Other than that....blowouts, one way or the other.
It's hard to get your tricky power running offense going when you're down 20, and it's pointless to use it when you're up 20.
Woody Johnson likes to sell tickets. He is also the reason the Jets went out and got Brett Favre's corpse instead of giving Pennington one last shot (who Mangini preferred).
Rex never wanted him. Hopefully he doesn't suffer Mangini's fate, since he's actually a really good coach. Just got put into a really tough spot with the worst QBs EVER on his roster.
I hate when you talk like a Jets fan.
If you were, and knew anything about Leon Hess, you wouldn't say stuff like this. Woody had nothing to do with the acquisition of Tebow. Literally nothing. He wanted McElroy to start the Jaguars game, not Tebow. If he cared about tickets, he would've had Tebow start in Jacksonville last week. Visiting teams get 40% of the gate for away games, and if he was all about the money he would have announced Tebow the starter that Monday and just cashed in. But he didn't, because he runs one of the 10 most valued franchises on the planet and jeopardizing that for a .01% of jersey sales is ridiculous. Every Jets ticket, every one, is sold out. Constantly. The $15 tickets stuff you see is the secondary market, people who just want anything for their ticket. He's already made his money, the only way for him to make more is to win, and he's said that publicly multiple times.
Since the guy became a partial owner the Jets are (brace for it) one of the better teams in the NFL. In terms of making the playoffs, making the conference title game, not having losing seasons and some other measures, they're in the top 5 AFC teams and top 10 in the NFL. Shocking, given the hilarity with which they're mocked in the media, but they're not (sorry, Mike) the Browns. Or the Raiders. Or teams that have prolonged suffering and losing seasons. The Jets' "suffering" has been in the playoffs half the seasons Woody's owned the team. Are they on the Pats' level of consistent success? No. They've never won a SB in my lifetime, either. But they're not the doormat bottom feeding chimps most people make them out to be. And a lot of that is because of Woody.
Let's go back to 2008, with the Jets sporting a veteran roster with high hopes. Except for the fact that Pennington is coming off his 3rd shoulder surgery and 3rd season ending injury. Jets fans (for all their fellating of Pennington today) were fed up with Pennington's injuries and weak arm and when Favre came people were ecstatic. Let's not forget the Jets went on the road and beat the Pats on national TV and then the Titans (when they were AFC favorites) in consecutive weeks to go 8-3 and be everyone's #1 power ranking team. Then Favre's arm snapped and he didn't tell anyone. That's Woody's fault?
If you would like me to, I'll link the story that discusses how the Tebow trade was made, with Rex & Tanny sitting in an airport waiting to go to Quentin Coples' pro day when Tanny got a call and they discussed and decided to trade for him. Because that's what took place. Woody was actually the last person to find out.
So how the hell did he win a Heisman and a NC at UF?
Uh, he had the fastest team in the country and he runs the option extremely well since he's hard to bring down. He's a great college QB. The list of "great college QBs who didn't pan out in the NFL" is longer than you could fathom
he threw a beautiful pass to win that playoff game last year. I don't get it.
You're using the term "beautiful" loosely, it was a good pass though. He has a completion % under 50% in nearly 400 throwing attempts. Your one pass doesn't outweigh all the bad ones.
His mechanics are incredibly flawed and my personal belief is he's too muscular, forcing his throwing motion to be too loopy and rigid. He can't read defenses to save his life and his first instinct at the sign of pressure is to tuck and run, which works in the NCAA when you're faster than a lot of guys, but in the NFL when you're slower than the opposing team's DT? Not going to work.
I just find it outrageous this guy gets discussed so much. He's a religious Eric Crouch and because ESPN packed up all journalistic integrity to suckle at the Tebow Teet, the entire country follows suit? Maddening. I can't wait until he's released in the offseason. CAN'T WAIT! (Bart Scot )
he's not the worst qb ever. he can play qb in the nfl and win (he already has). I just think it's funny that every single argument against him includes a shot at his religion.

Really? I have heard multiple arguments focused on his extended throwing motion and lack of accuracy at times where they almost apologize for talking bad about him because he seems to be an genuinely awesome guy.

Worst QB ever? No. Worst QB in the NFL that people irrationally think should be a starter? Yes.
The list of crappy QBs who have won is long, and it starts with names like Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez. You agree that Sanchez sucks, correct? He's won more games, more playoff games and has better career per-game numbers than Tebow. But he sucks, as we all agree. Why is it unfair to say Tebow sucks if he's worse than QB that sucks?
And I didn't mention his religion until I said "religious Eric Crouch," which wasn't a dig on his faith but instead to show the only difference between his play and the play of Crouch is that Tebow is a very notable Christian athlete with a fanatic following. That's it.
His throwing motion being horrible has nothing to do with Jesus, so don't act like that's what people are saying.

So, flanzo, I read that rumors have already started about the Jets trying to trade Sanchez and Tebow (shocker on both accounts!) and bringing in Vick. Scale of 1-10, how pissed would you be about Vick?

They are going to release Tebow, he has no guaranteed $ and no team is going to trade for him. Prediction: Tebow to CFL
They are going to try to trade Sanchez, and it's not completely irrational to think they can do it. If he was released outright he would 100% be picked up by a team that wants to take a flier on a veteran QB with experience who maybe needs a change of scenery. The question would be how to get one of those teams to trade for Mark. Well, assuming the Jets don't find someone to take Sanchez's full value (which is possible if you do a "headache for a headache" swap with, say, a franchise-tagged Dwayne Bowe), they can pay $4.3m of Mark's ~$8.6m 2013 salary, making him slightly more expensive than Kyle Orton was this year. Not impossible to trade him at that point, especially if it's for a 7th or something.
I wouldn't be happy with Vick because he's smaller than Sanchez, just as mistake prone while under pressure, and because he's always hurt. Jets fans are already saying they'll "quit the team" if they sign Vick, which is b.s. Jets fans are such babies, they'll be back just like I will to see what a QB with a rocket arm can do behind the Jets' big OL.
But on a scale of 1-10 how happy would I be, with 10 being "Mila Kunis giving me a lap dance" and 1 being "Vince Wilfork giving me a lap dance," I'd be about a 4.

I'd take a Big Vince lap dance any day of the week.
