Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Nooooooooooooooooooo....!!! Torrential downpours, deathly heat & humidity, drug sniffing dogs, all of these I can manage. But ticks are an entirely different level of hell for me. The first thing I did when deciding whether to go all in for bonnaroo was google "tick bonnaroo." The results filled me with reassurance & peace regarding the issue. But NOW THIS?!? AND TWO DAYS BEFORE THE FESTIVAL?!? Please tell me this is a practical joke ????
Oh don't freak out about it. Just be sure to check your sheets and stuff before/after sleeping. Periodic checks of your hair & exposed skin & clothes before going into your tent. Someone suggested tea tree oil, maybe google how that'll help.
But yes, I have noticed the bugs have been pretty bad. Bring bug spray for sure. The rain isn't helping the Mosquitos either. But the rain has stopped again, so some good news I suppose.
This is just an excuse to find a buddy for a nightly strip down and tick check
This is a little random....I know everyone (or a lot of us) are gearing up for Roo. God knows I am more than excited to get to the farm at the end of the week!
A small favor to ask if you have a few moments today.
I entered a contest on Talenthouse to win the opportunity to photograph ZZ Top in Atlanta later this year. I would appreciate the votes if you care to take the time. The photos I take will also be featured by the band on their various social media outlets, providing some great exposure. Although I am not real fond of these "popularity contest" who can get the most friends to vote kind of things, I thought it was worth a shot. Thanks for taking the time to vote.

I swear there's a country song that plays at work all of the time about this metaphor.

A song called 'Ticks'
'Cause I'd like to see you out in the moonlight I'd like to kiss you way back in the sticks I'd like to walk you through a field of wildflowers And I'd like to check you for ticks.

Ok. Voted. But you better win, or you will be banished to the City of Lud, and forced to listen to "Velcro Fly" over and over for eternity. lol. ....just a little fictional reference there. < best placed smiley, ever.

This is the one. A girl I work with was convinced it was about bugs.
It blows my mind how many people can't do basic math. Like, the most basic math. I'm taking a stat class and a girl in my class wasn't able to computer 31+49 without a calculator.

That's not very nice. I am extremely mathematically challenged. Like, I took basic college algebra 3 times before I passed it with a B
Gary (VP) came by my desk and we were talking about the view from my desk. There's a brick rectangle just outside the door that is currently a mud pit because of the rain.
Gary: I guess that's supposed to be a fountain eventually? Me: Nah. I like the mud pit. Gary: Yep. Bonnaroo!
hahahaha
Then on the flipside: Linda: Okay kiddo. Where's Bonnaroo? Me: Manchester Linda: Oh so it's south. Okay. Alright. Me: Yeah. It's about 2 hours from my house Linda: Okay then. Good job. Good job.

What I see all the time is people use a calculator when they don't need to, and they don't use one when they need to. Like my students use calculators to multiply one-digit numbers (instead of just knowing those), but they'll just stare at a square root. Plug it in the calculator man!
Let me tie all this randomness together with one fell swoop... Speaking of numbers and words...does anyone else get bothered that the abbreviation for "Number" is "No."?

It is bc it's actually abbreviating numero which is the Latin word for by number.

I didn't...until now.
Does anyone else get bothered that credit cards are always run upside down in credit card commercials?
