Against the Grain does a lot of interesting beers, but very well done and very well rated. It is in the baseball stadium, but at least they're playing in Pawtucket today so it should not be too crowded.
Thank god for all of you, and for my friend Trish, a Bonnanoob who lost her PD husband 4 years ago and who volunteered to be my date so attending Roo post Love Tour wasn't so overwhelming. Maybe it'll be alright. Maybe it won't. But I at least have a 50/50 chance.
Love you girlie. I will be your date anytime.

I soooo wish you were going to be there. Sooo, sooo much.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

Idk where to post this exactly, but just an FYI for everyone heading to Roo, the ticks have been really bad here. Idk if it's because I'm in the shade or what, but I've never seen a tick before and since Friday I've killed 3, pulled 1 off my sheets, and picked one out or my hair this morning. Mosquitos are bad too, but the ticks are insane.

Interesting, that's t second report I've seen of more than normal bugs. I wonder if they decided not to spray the farm this year

This is kind of icky.
A friend of mine was bit at a festival almost seven years ago. She's been battling Lyme disease ever since.

Nooooooooooooooooooo....!!! Torrential downpours, deathly heat & humidity, drug sniffing dogs, all of these I can manage. But ticks are an entirely different level of hell for me. The first thing I did when deciding whether to go all in for bonnaroo was google "tick bonnaroo." The results filled me with reassurance & peace regarding the issue. But NOW THIS?!? AND TWO DAYS BEFORE THE FESTIVAL?!? Please tell me this is a practical joke ????

Ticks are thriving this year. It sucks a lot. Do tick checks often.
The tick season started early up here in NY. We've been pulling them off our dogs pretty consistently.

Ughghggg. So strange, as I take my dogs out for 3-4 hour days at the dog park & haven't seen any yet. Of course, it might help that it is on a peninsula. I don't know; I just very clearly recall reading that ticks aren't an issue at bonnaroo. Now I am going to be ridiculously paranoid the whole time, especially at night when no one can check me in natural light. It's just how it is. Not only are they in & of themselves terrible, disgusting creatures without which the earth would be a better place, but I have seen the horrifying & seemingly endless effects of Lyme disease. It is not something that I am the slightest bit interested in contracting & living with for the rest of my life...
Please tell me that there is some way beyond bug spray to repel these horrifying creatures

Thanks for the updates! I'll be sure to look out for those this year as well as.. the spiders! Every year one of those bastards makes it's way into my tent.

Oh don't freak out about it. Just be sure to check your sheets and stuff before/after sleeping. Periodic checks of your hair & exposed skin & clothes before going into your tent. Someone suggested tea tree oil, maybe google how that'll help.
But yes, I have noticed the bugs have been pretty bad. Bring bug spray for sure. The rain isn't helping the Mosquitos either. But the rain has stopped again, so some good news I suppose.

STOP! I am now terrified. I didn't sign up for ticks. I live in a concrete jungle, maybe I overestimated my ability to camp.
(fyi, not seriously bugging, but definitely not happy to hear that)
