I had a weird dream last night that I was an astronaut going to the moon and it turned out the other astronaut that was going to the moon with me was a werewolf. And the moon is always full when you're there. So like when we got there I was chased all around on the moon and then I woke up when I got bitten. Also I had dreadlocks for some reason and was constantly being ridiculed but was confident and comfortable in my own skin.

You better start writing that script and submit it to the sci-fi channel ASAP. Their a little wrapped up in Sharknado 2 right now, but they will jump at the chance for "Houston, We Have A Werewolf"
Advice: my sister is on the job hunt. I haven't job hunted in several years, and the job I have now was from word-of-mouth. Where should she start looking on the internet? Back when I was looking, I found both of my jobs through the good old fashioned newspaper classifieds, so I have no experience with career builder or monster. Are those worthwhile sites?

Do you know if she's on Linked In? That's how a lot of people I know have gotten jobs lately - word of mouth through Linked In connections. Monster is fine but don't limit it. Check careerbuilder.com and indeed.com. There are also specific sites depending on what kind of position she might be looking for. The reason to use multiple sites is they all have different algorithms and don't turn up the same results depending on the search terms. Some companies don't submit their openings to all the websites either. Also, does she have a resume? Livecareer.com has an ok free system for using a resume template and building a resume if she doesn't already have one. Depending on what she wants to do and where she wants to work, most websites have an employment opportunity section to their website - we get hundreds of resumes submitted every day and they all get filtered into the system so when we look for a resume, even the unsolicited ones come up in the search.

Thanks for the advice! I don't know exactly what she wants to do, I'm not sure she does either! She's been a part-time employee at a bank for about 7 years, but she's ready for full time work now that my nephews are in school. Apparently, she does not want to work at a bank anymore. She has a college degree but her work history has been all over the place.

Then the key is for her to not have a generic one-size fits all resume. She should have a basic resume but be prepared to tailor it depending on what job she sees that she might be interested in. So like if she sees a financial analyst one or something similar, then she should play up the numbers/money aspect of the bank job and play down the clerk/customer assistance angle. Alternatively, if she sees an admin job she's interested in, play up the organizational skills and customer service type stuff.
My thing with getting jobs is always figure out how to get my foot in the door and then when they meet me they'd have to hire me even if I'm not fully qualified. And when I hire people, even if they're not fully qualified, if they have a great personality and we click, I will look for something else for them in the company just to have that kind of person around.

The job I have now I got because a guy I worked with ten years before remembered what I can do, and drafted me. It's a great job.
I don't network as much as others, but it does work. Work your network.

The first "real adult" job I got was via a temp agency. It wasn't a great job, but it got me some great work experience that got me on my way to bigger/better things
I think "Festival Snob" and "The Festive Owl" should have their own thread where they can go to bitch and trash each other without disrupting other threads.
Good idea. What would we name it?
"Obnoxious shit 19,998 members don't care about" or OSMDCA
How hard is to comprehend that you don't go down the lane in a parking lot if the spots are angled away from you?
The best is when they look at you like you're the crazy one for going the correct way!
That totally happened to me. I was trying to turn left out of the lane, and I was toward the middle of the lane (you know, since it's a one way road) and the dude totally gave me the stink eye as he squeezed his SUV past me.
Sorry if this is in the wrong place but wanted to let all you jam fans know that bbc2 Mastermind right now someone's specialist subject is ................... THE GRATEFUL DEAD!
I dunno what the score is with international iplayer or using Hola or whatever but thought a few of you guys would want to test your knowledge
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I hid away my snowboarding socks after last season and now I can't find them anywhere. We leave in 2 hours for Stowe, VT.
Also, it just thundered. This weather is straight up whacky.
Have a great time. I usually go up to Stowe a few times a year to get my east coast shred on. There's alot of good stuff off-trail to do up there if the snows good. It's my favorite VT mountain, for sure.
Also, if you're an IPA drinker, find Heady Topper. It still sits in my top 3, and I would pay you handsomely if you brought me, like, all of it.

I'm not a big fan of IPA's, but I do enjoy a Heady Topper whenever we go up to Burlington. A shop owner in Burlington told us that Alchemist has some crazy system for distributing it and only do so like once a week. People line up at the brewery to buy any extra they might have.
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
