Last Monday I had a sleep study to see if I had sleep apnea. When I checked in they if my breathing was really bad after a couple of hours they would put a CPAP on me. Well, sure enough around 1 am they had to put it on me. And after that I kept waking up because they kept changing the pressure. Last Thursday someone called me up to give the results. They started out by saying if you stopped breathing 30 in an hour you have sever obstructive sleep apnea then they told in an hour and twinty minutes I stopped breathing 170 times. So I will be getting a BIPAP this Thursday. I thought there was a chance I had it but I had no idea it was that bad.
Holy cow, that many? I would suggest to make sure you and the hubs have sweaters. Hospitals are cold. And that he has entertainment and take out menus from local restaurants. I dunno know your plan is, and I don't want to presume. But first time around my wife went epidural but no painkillers, and we watched movies and hung out for like 12 hours while she was all numb. The second time she opted for painkillers, and once that epidural went in she was basically asleep right up until she pushed that little dude out. I was so bored.
Haha that sounds so relaxing! Ideally he'll have no time to be bored while helping keep me comfortable and relaxed, since we're trying for a pain med free delivery. If I decide to change the plan and go for the pain meds/epidural and wind up zonked out, he'll have a TV at least. I've been running super duper hot for months now, so a walk in freezer for a birthing room sounds sooooo nice.
I'm sure I could stuff everything into one huge bag, but I want to be able to find everything (or guide someone else to finding it) easily. Also I can't stand the hospital gowns, they're so constrictive around the neck area (and way too open in the booty), so I've got multiple changes of loose and comfy clothes involved. (Also including my purse and the diaper bag in that count!)
I don't even remember bringing a bag with me at all, but I must have because I wore these pants I had before I got pregnant home from the hospital 5 days later. And that sounds NOTHING like what I experienced.
I woke up needing to walk around 1am, sat down and timed my contractions at 3am (2 mins apart and 1.5 mins long) I didn't want to be that woman that got sent home. I might have been a bit unreasonable. Once we got there it was all downhill until he came out at 10:36am. It is freezing cold in there and they kept trying to change me out of the soaking wet sheets/blankets due to my water breaking, but I wasn't allowed to wear anything but the hospital gown.
I scared the doctor at around 5:30am and we didn't see him again until the delivery room at around 10am. My mom tried to tell me very unfunny jokes that did not lighten the mood. I tried all natural, but they ended up giving me Demerol around 7am, once that wore off I begged for more since your body forgets the pain with the painkillers and once it wears off it is ten times worse, they didn't give me more because then it was "too close" to time. I actually busted all of the capillaries in my back from pushing, I had scratches on my stomach from the nurses jumping and pushing on my belly when it was time to push.
But out of all that you get this amazing little person, so that is cool. Also, all the nurses came and apologized to me and told me how I scared all the other mom-to-bes, which really makes me happy.
EDIT: He turns 19 tomorrow, I didn't even realize it was July 31.
Does anyone else have really vivid dreams when they're not in their own bed? Staying at a family friend's house this weekend and I had like 3 extremely vivid dreams last night.
I just have really vivid dreams. It doesn't matter where I sleep.

When I kept a dream journal (weird I know) i always had vivid lucid dreams. Now it's only when I sleep somewhere else or when taking a t-break. Consider yourself lucky

I don't consider myself lucky. They are always fucking crazy and sometimes seriously fuck me up because they are realistic. I am not a fan of my dreams. This morning my dream was I was possessed and had to kill people but was trying to not kill the people and fight off being possessed, but the consequences of not following through were was worse than killing the target.

Dang that is crazy. Have you looked into lucid dreaming? It's pretty much training yourself to know you're dreaming so you can take control.

I have not. Sometimes I can tell when I am dreaming and but still can't take control. Like Thursday night I had dreams about my ex, berating me like he did in real life. No matter what I did, it was never enough. I knew I was dreaming, but was unable to escape from the dream or the belittling. I might need to look into that, because let me tell you, I felt like shit all day Friday because of that dream.

Yeah I definitely suggest at least looking into it. I got into it (more for enjoyment) because one of my friends said it cured his nightmares.

I'm the exact same way. The dreams seem more real then waking life. Really hyper-realistic stuff. A lot of my dreams are apocalyptic/dystopian in nature. Like once I had a dream that the Trump presidency was extremely fascist with an extremely heavy handed police state mentality. But he wasn't the first president like this and it has been this way since after Kennedy was assassinated. And me and a friend of mine were part of a group of freedom fighters. Also, in the dreams LSD was used as a means of time travel and since a friend owned a house that Hunter S. Thompson lived. So, we would go to his house drop acid, go back in time and help fight against that regime and learn gorilla fighting techniques from him. Really crazy stuff.

Damn y'all that's crazy but check this out one time I had a dream I had to go back to high school to finish a class shit was wild.
I got a refund for a pair of headphones I did not send back to amazon. They are sitting at my desk at home. I never even initiated a request for a refund because I have no intention of returning them. Weird. I find myself in a bit of an ethical quandary now. I did recently return another pair of headphones to amazon, but I received my refund for that pair week before last.

I would give myself a couple days to see if amazon fixes their mistake themselves. Then my conscious would kick in and I'd contact them about it.

does anyone have a recommendation for a power plug adapter for europe? there are so many on amazon, i'm not sure what to look for. i'll be in france and belgium, and will pretty much only need it for cell phones (and to charge my fitbit, which uses a usb).

Just buy one of the cheapest ones, the 99 cent ones will work fine for your needs. Just use a normal USB plug in it, which im assuming you already own.

Not weird until years later you go back and read about that vacuum cleaner head you got or whatever. Haha. I had this awesome book back in the late 80's that encouraged people to do it. I hadn't finished it, but I loaned it to some lady who lived across the street, and she split up with her boyfriend. I can't remember the name of it, so I never got to finish it. There was a lot to this book in the 1/3 or so of the way I had gotten through it. Premise was if you keep it close by, you'll wake up just enough to jot down your thoughts without disturbing your sleep. Obviously sometimes you can't read what you wrote and sometimes it makes no sense. But once you started doing this, there were ways to enhance your own dreams and get the outcomes out of them you wanted by putting them to work for you - such as where you wanted to go, who you wanted to be with, what you wanted to do, etc. I never got that far because of loss of the book and forgetting the title. Oddly enough, an old girlfriend told me neither of her psychologist parents (both doctors and possibly psychiatrists) believed in dreams. They concluded that memories of dreams were just of the time between semi-consciousness and consciousness. I have always maintained this to be complete and utter bullshit. Too many times have I kicked something and slammed my foot on the wall or bed board and had other similar occurrences.
As for sleeping on couches or at random places or when taking a break (doesn't happen anymore), I also find the dreams are much more vivid. If I remember correctly from other studies, there are several stages of falling asleep - Alpha/Beta/Delta and R.E.M. R.E.M. is I think where the major dreams and dream scenarios occur. I think it's either Alpha or Beta when you're falling off a cliff, about to get in a car wreck or something like that that startles you back to being awake or semi-awake. That almost always happens when I'm on a couch.
I guess this won't be news at some point, but the headline reads, "Transgender man from Oregon Gives Birth to Baby Boy." First, congratulations to the couple. Clearly I don't understand much about gender identify or fluidity. I'm not a hater, I just don't understand many of the ins and outs of how people identify and choose to live and particularly the psychology. In some ways, I guess it's not really that different from an African American woman wearing a wig, a blonde becoming a red head or whatever. But those are just the physical aspects. Based on Trystan's explanation, I guess I can see his point to what he identifies as and how. But some men want to be women. Some women want to be men. Some men who want to be women don't want to have a sex-change. Some women who want to be men don't want to have the operations. www.nola.com/politics/index.ssf/2017/08/transgender_man_gives_birth_to.html#incart_river_home_pop

This may seem pedantic but I promise it's out of an abundance of sensitivity.
It's not that a woman WANTS to be a man. She is born in the wrong body and it's up to her how far she takes her transition. In the example that I'm giving the person is a woman who was assigned male at birth.
Thanks for that 10gb. It's still fairly confusing to me I guess because of the newness in society-at-large. I can accept gender in non-binary terms. And I can accept people as a certain gender in their minds but not their bodies. So in that case, she already is a man psychologically but not physically. I should have worded "wants" differently - maybe how one exists as or how far she takes it like you said. Obviously to each their own and people should have a right to be who they are. So I don't have a problem with that. I even watched some of the Katie Couric show recently on fluidity and realized there's a ****-ton people haven't even thought of yet. And again, I'm not looking at this in a binary sense. And maybe I shouldn't care how someone chooses to present him or herself, but it's kind of a natural inner-rhetorical question when you see someone you're not sure about. I'm naturally curious and always want to know the answer to something I'm not sure about. I guess there are just a lot of combinations of gender identity and expression. And then when you thrown in sexual orientation, it multiplies those combinations again.

I agree not weird to write down your dreams, except if they are about getting back together with an ex and your current reads it. LOL
I think that it is odd that those psychiatrists don't believe in dreams. I was always taught that when you sleep/dream (especially those you can't remember) you brain is working through issues and conflicts. I find the whole thing interesting. Also, since we talked about all this, I have done research into lucid dreaming and have made mental notes to noticed when I am dreaming so I can take action...NOT ONE DREAM since. And I always have vivid weird dreams. Very upsetting.

All good dude. I didn't think there was any bias in your post.
As far as navigating the murkiness of self-identification and so on... my rule of thumb is listen when people say, "I am ______." So long as you address people the way they ask to be addressed you're off on the right foot.

Dear Brooklyn weather god/sky person, please stop the downpour. I don't want to sit in the backseat of a car for 3 hours soaking wet after Fleet Foxes.

During my Occupy days, I met someone who identified as a woman named Sara and looked like (probably was) a homeless man. It seems odd at first, but considering Sara's housing, employment, and financial status - not like much could be done on the matter even if she wanted.
it's the one of the worst shows I've ever been to. but I'm worried I'm living in an alternate universe because no one else seems to be bothered by it??? S.O.S.

I'm flying into LGA tomorrow afternoon and am concerned about all the delays/cancellations today due to weather. So I am searching Twitter for "LGA" and in addition to La Guardia I am getting tons of tweets with Asian letters and pornography. Is LGA a porn thing in Asia? I don't know what language it is but it's an Asian country and it'll be this long tweet and then a pic of people having sex or a naked person.
