Lucid dreaming is absolutely amazing. One of the best dreams I ever had was one in which I intentionally conjured a couple of dragons and my friend and I flew around/battled on them. It was one of the coolest things I've ever experienced, partially because it felt so real and partially because I felt limitless. Lucid dreaming takes some practice (i've only consciously gone lucid while transitioning to sleep once; all the other times occurred when I realized I was dreaming while dreaming), but it's worth it on my opinion. If you're into pharmacological psychonautics definitely give it a shot. It can also be useful for sorting out psychological tangles too - my personal belief is that it allows you to communicate with your un/subconscious, so I've found it helpful to occasionally ask the dream-universe questions as a form of self-inquiry. It's been fruitful.

I'm flying into LGA tomorrow afternoon and am concerned about all the delays/cancellations today due to weather. So I am searching Twitter for "LGA" and in addition to La Guardia I am getting tons of tweets with Asian letters and pornography. Is LGA a porn thing in Asia? I don't know what language it is but it's an Asian country and it'll be this long tweet and then a pic of people having sex or a naked person.
You should be ok. There were some nasty storms on our drive down to the city yesterday. Bad enough we pulled over to the shoulder to wait out the hail.

Thanks for the reassurance. At the airport now, everything seems to be fine so far. Anywho this is why I always travel a day before the show, to give myself a buffer.
it's the one of the worst shows I've ever been to. but I'm worried I'm living in an alternate universe because no one else seems to be bothered by it??? S.O.S.
I was there on the first night. It was pretty awesome IMO. Also one of the most respectful NYC crowds I've ever seen.

I'm just so perplexed. I haven't seen anyone else say they thought it wasn't good. are people blinded by their fleet foxes boner? or am I straight up crazy?? I honestly almost left 5 songs in - I couldn't take it. and I would consider myself a MASSIVE FUCKING FAN ever since their first album, and still am.
I'm not sure if it was the sound alone that was the problem, but there were *literally* people all around me plugging their ears.
the speakers on the right side of the stage (looking at the stage) were up *WAY TOO LOUD* my ears have never physically hurt so bad after a show. honestly.
the mics were omnidirectional mics - meaning all of the murmur of the crowd was picked up the entire show. it was like there was am overwhelming, reverb/murmur noise happening the whole time - drowning out other instruments/voices. and any time a crowd member said something you could 100% hear it
robin's mic was way too loud, the horns were either too loud or not loud enough depending on the song, good god could the mic on the tambourine have been any more overbearing???, it seemed like none of the other vocal mics were ever turned on - except maybe 1 toward the end, the bass guitar drowned out everything else
sooo, I think the sound issues cause a ripple of other shit to sound bad / threw the band off.
robin was singing in wayyyyy different keys for any song that wasn't a solo song. it worked for a couple songs, but for others you could tell it wasn't intentional/just didn't fit with the overall song
idk if it was because of the weird sound making the key changes, but the harmonizing was either completely lacking or just straight BAD/totally out of pitch
so many guitar and piano mistakes
the tempo was ALL OVER THE PLACE. sometimes songs would randomly speed up, and you could hear robin trying to sing slower to slow the drummer down, but it never worked. every single song was significantly higher tempo than it should have been - and not in a pleasant way
on that note. this drummer fucking sucks.
on THAT note. bring back some stage banter jesus christ. not having j tillman up there was a much bigger void than I expected.
one of the trombone players was... I'm sorry... but COMPLETE GARBAGE. I played brass instruments better back in high school.
I was almost in tears by the time I had moved to a 4th spot in the venue to test out the sound and realized it just wasn't getting better. I've never been more disappointed by a show - my expectations were high (I've seen them 2 or 3 times in the past) and I have such an emotional attachment to the band.

blah.
The left side of the stage did not have any of those issues. We were on the left about halfway between stage and sound tent.

when I was there the other week for sylvan esso similar sound issues were happening, but they fixed it within few songs that time.
I think this just solidifies my thoughts about just never going to a show there again. unless it's free.

The Assistant Vice President of Communications at the Aerospace Industries Association, who used to be the special assistant to the U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff, sent me a letter and an AIA coin thanking me for all the work I've done with them at my job the past year and a half. So humbled.

I'm in Saratoga at a talking heads tribute band show and this fucking guy just took a chair from the bar and put it IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FLOOR SO HE COULD SIT DOWN.
I am not 100% sure what is going on here, but it reminds me of the cat food bag jacket that one of my friends has. I tried finding the picture, but haven't as of yet. I will continue my search and update if found.
Ohio State University announced it has developed a dime-sized silicon chip that injects genetic code into skin cells which then turns those cells into any type of tissue (brain, vascular, muscle, possibly organs, etc.). It's anticipated to treat car crash victims and possibly soldiers injured on the battlefield. The hypothesis is that they'd essentially use the skin as an agricultural plot where you could grow any type of cell. Kind of wild.
This is a breakthrough technology, because it's the first time cells have been reprogrammed in a live body. Current cell therapy methods are high risk, like those that introduce a virus, and include multiple steps, a new study published in Nature Nanotechnology points out. There are no known side effects to TNT and treatment is less than a second, Sen said
