Sail has gotta be one of the biggest fluke songs ever. Not a one hit wonder, because AWOLNATION has other radio-played songs and typically one hit wonders other songs sound not terrible, but a fluke: where a terrible band makes one very solid song.
I think you're the only person I've ever met who would describe Sail as a "solid" song.

King T is like 17. I thought Semisonic's Closing Time was solid at that age. Plus ADD is a common diagnosis of today's youth.

I was about 13, hanging out in the Walmart music section while my mom shopped. A middle age woman with a walmart employee approach me and say "Hey, you look like you like music, what band sings that closing time song?". I told them, they were happy and thanked me.
To this day, I want to know what looking like you like music is.
Every new beginning starts with some other beginnings end.
It grew on me after some older kids sang along to it on the ride home after college night Thursdays at some local club.
For me I always think about Eagle Eye Cherry's "Save Tonight" in the same breath as "Closing Time". I know they were 2 different bands but I somehow connect them.

I get this awesome code for Sia tickets today. It basically is great seats for $22 each. I go to buy them and notice that even at $22 each the total was $71. I click the details and there is $10/ticket fee and a $4/ticket service charge. So fees are more than half of the ticket price? That is standard Ticketmaster fucking logic. I hate them. No Sia for me.
Way I see it: would you pay $35 a ticket for Sia?
Ticketmaster fees suck, absolutely. But that's why you basically ignore face value for the total cost.

That's the problem, we just dismiss that they are riping us off because of a 'value.' There's no reason for fees to be half of the cost of your ticket regardless of a discount, I think that makes it worse. Almost a slap in the face.
I've bought one Ticketmaster ticket this year and it was Beck, and fees were stupid. There's lots of smaller venues here that use ticketweb, sell through songkick, winter circle or front gate that don't charge outrageous fees. The civic box office doesn't charge the Ticketmaster fee either.
I know I'm not really buying a bunch of shows this year, due to circumstances, but that really makes it much easier in making the decisions not to buy from Ticketmaster. I have to be stingy on my music purchases and $22 with $14 service fees each ticket are not worth it. Especially when that $14 is going to Ticketmaster. Lawsuits do not change policy and as long as we buy tickets from them they well never change policy and will constantly raise fees.

I wish that I didn't have to use Ticketmaster so much, but they seem to have a monopoly on all the major venues in the Boston area. There are a couple of box offices where you can avoid the massive fees, but it's inconvenient for someone who doesn't live or work in the city.
Just saw that Whitney is playing the Duke Coffeehouse for $10 tomorrow. First come first serve tickets sold at the door... Eep. I hope I can get in
Good luck! I just got back from their show at The Earl and it was great. During the show they mentioned they needed a place to crash tonight. Maybe you can get lucky and they'll play you a private living room set in exchange for a bed.

Don't you mean "play you a private bedroom set, in exchange for sleeping in your bed?" Meow.
