I saw someone in a panda hood last week at F*ck Buttons.
Which one of you wankers came here and didn't tell me?
Sleepy, my boyfriend wants to go to Australia so badly. If we can save up the money, we'll be coming to visit you in the next few years!
I don't just like this post, I love it! Dinner on me at Sydney's finest (and this city has plenty of good eatin').
Fair warning, it can be expensive here, but it also depends what you want to do / buy. A nice meal out and a bottle of wine costs no more here than it would in most major US cities - but a case of beer and a new shirt? Your budget is ruined. www.budgetdirect.com.au/costofliving/ will give you a better idea of what I mean. Did you get down to London on your Glasto trip? I've never been, but it seems roughly comparable.
Sydney and Melbourne are both definitely worth a visit. Any particular time you were thinking of coming? September through November probably has the most reliable weather, New Year's in the summer is a trip, and May has Vivid Fest, which is quickly turning into one of my favourite festivals. It's not a music fest exactly, though there are concerts (Kraftwerk did a 5-night, 10-album residency this year ) - the city just turns into a giant discotheque for three weeks.

We haven't talked about it in detail, but I would guess it's a few years off. We would probably come in your summertime, because Jake wants to go to a beach. He doesn't have the same kind of music tastes as myself (or anyone else that I know, for that matter), so we tend not to do music-stuff together.

Cool. Well, one thing there's no shortage of here is beautiful beaches (Melbourne is a different story). It's also a very temperate climate, so you can comfortably go to the beach from September to April or so. Make sure to keep me posted!
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
Lately, I've become very restless and feel the need for a major change. I've been researching a nomadic lifestyle which is loosely labeled "vandwelling" these days (living in a van, RV or converted bus/stepvan). I am very intrigued by living semi off the grid. If it were just me, I would be saving money to buy a travel trailer and hit the road. But, I have a 9 year old and, well, kids need stability. Buuuuuut, I do homeschool her, so it's not like we could never do it. Maybe I'll start saving, buy a camper and hit the road for increasingly longer "vacations", just to try it out
This makes me think of the movie Chocolat. It's an attractive lifestyle. For me not practical but I feel ya.
every time I watch that movie I think about whether I really need a stable job, house, etc... not practical for me either but definitely looks fun.

I'd love to travel from little town to little town setting up a chocolate store and opening people's minds. And meeting Johnny Depp gypsies
Lol. When I read this I thought you said "I love to travel from little town to little town setting up a chocolate store and opening people's minds." I was gonna ask you what exactly are you putting in your chocolate! Or what Chocolate store is a euphemism for!

Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
"The LD50 of caffeine in humans is dependent on individual sensitivity, but is estimated to be about 150 to 200 milligrams per kilogram of body mass or roughly 80 to 100 cups of coffee for an average adult." One 8 ounce coffee is 108 mgs of caffeine, give or take. 100 x 100 = 10,000 mg is a lethal dose.
It occurred to me today at lunch that bean sprouts are kinda the veggie equivalent of veal. They are grown for the sole purpose of being harvested and eaten before they have a chance to lead fulfilling and meaningful bean plant lives.

For some reason this reminds me of this little show on Disney Jr called Small Potatoes. Have you ever seen it? It's super cute. They all have British accents.
