despite a few assertive, late-Romantic exceptions like Mussorgsky and Rachmaninoff, the music used to scatter hoodlums is pre-Romantic, by Baroque or Classical-era composers such as Vivaldi or Mozart.
I found that part particularly interesting. I wonder why that is.
I guess I'm just kinda weird. I'm ok with this. When the time comes it will be a requirement that attendees of my wake must take a selfie and post it to instagram and/or Facebook before they can get to the open bar.
NYPD tries to stop longboard skaters during Broadway Bomb, fails miserably
"The Broadway Bomb brings together more than 2,500 longboard skaters each year in New York City to push eight miles through Manhattan, from West 116th Street to the Charging Bull in the Financial District. Since it’s inception in 2000, the NYPD has tried to hamper the event by hassling skaters, blocking roads, and even handing out tickets. This year the NYPD busted out the orange netting to try and corrall the skaters. They failed miserably. It was so bad that someone set the folly to the music from Benny Hill and it couldn’t be more appropriate."
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.

I'm never hungry in the morning but I just recently started eating breakfast. Until a couple of days ago my routine was to slam some juice, slam a cup of coffee and GO GO GO. My first actual encounter with food wouldn't happen until 1 or 2 for lunch. I've now incorporated a bagel with vegetable cream cheese and scrambled eggs with chorizo sausage into my morning ritual and WOW! It really makes a huge difference!
Seems like common sense but I haven't eaten breakfast in years.

That restaurant is actually really unique, and by that I mean artery clogging, calorie intake mecca. But they have a good thing going in their location (The Piazza is a good bar scene as well as a good concert location during the summer). Great place to stroll out of a bar and eat a crap ton of bacon. Probably wont be back around that district till next summers concert season, but will keep it in mind Tejas
Aren't those great? I remember seeing that woman's blog awhile back. Not sure if it's the same mom that did these but soooo creative!
looks like the same mom who did the "When My Baby Dreams" photo book, which originally started as a blog. I totally should have done that with James, so cute!

I hate it when I end up being the first person at the office. It always makes me question whether we all have the day off, and I just forgot about it. Halloween is a federal holiday, right?

I don't think my babies ever slept long enough or hard enough to make that happen!

HOly crap! I just saw 6 big azz hawks circling around in the sky and I'm not even on hallucinogens yet. Sucks to be a Chihuahua in my neighborhood today!
Was so excited to see one of my photos used in my favorite little (former) hometown publications. The Metro Pulse in Knoxville. I am a n00b, it is still strange for me to look at things like this and see my name and work.

Lately, I've become very restless and feel the need for a major change. I've been researching a nomadic lifestyle which is loosely labeled "vandwelling" these days (living in a van, RV or converted bus/stepvan). I am very intrigued by living semi off the grid. If it were just me, I would be saving money to buy a travel trailer and hit the road. But, I have a 9 year old and, well, kids need stability. Buuuuuut, I do homeschool her, so it's not like we could never do it. Maybe I'll start saving, buy a camper and hit the road for increasingly longer "vacations", just to try it out

This makes me think of the movie Chocolat. It's an attractive lifestyle. For me not practical but I feel ya.
