If you have good bread, and it's warm, it doesn't really need to be toasted. #teambiscuits
Completely disagree. The toasting adds stability to bread, and a crunch that is very important. There are sandwiches out there that can be untoasted, but the majority is much better with toasted bread.
Honestly, where the hell are you guys eating biscuits so much that you would give up a toasted sandwich for them? Maybe they're just not popular in the Northeast, but I can't think of a single restaurant outside of fast-food that has them.
My granny's house. Tomato biscuits, biscuits and gravy, and biscuits are also really good with beef stew.

I eat toasted bread much more than biscuits but I enjoy my time with biscuits much more than with toasted bread.

sourdough bread is the best beef stew accompaniment, imho.
Please leave. Or come to Homegrown on Memorial Drive in Atlanta and be converted to the true biscuit side.
I've had what you Southerners call "biscuits", and they were damn tasty. But the name is inaccurate, and to rank them above bread/toast is absurd.
Exactly, biscuits are tasty, but the multiple applications of toast that would disappear from my life would severely outnumber the handful of times I have a biscuit in a year.

I would miss sandwiches made with toasted bread. I would not miss one piece of bread out of the toaster with spread on it.
But I shudder to think of a world where I would know how great biscuits are but could never have them again.
Just for fun I Googled, "definition biscuit." Apparently one acceptable definition is, "a small flat piece of wood used to join two mortised planks together." So there you go.

Y'all are crazy. I could have either disappear from my life and really not notice one way or the other. I'd choose bread but not really that loyal to the choice.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
Good biscuits are DOPE: so soft and buttery and warm and melt in your mouth, mmmmmm.
Toast is fine, but is is just....toast. Crunchy bread. Meh.
Biscuits ftw - and anyone from the South who claims otherwise is an incorrect fool.
It's not which is better. It's whether you'd rather live in a world where only biscuits exist, or only toast. One will be gone forever.
Even knowing that, I stick with the biscuits.
Yes, I know.
I'm asserting that I'm obvs on Team Biscuits. Take away the toast - my bread can be without crunch and I'll be fine. Don't rid the world of biscuits!!!

I'm team biscuit. I love a good biscuit or roll beside my dinner plate. I wouldn't miss toast since I hardly ever eat a sandwich other than hamburger and I use buns for that. Two toasted slices of bread do help make a BLT delicious, but it would be a worthy sacrifice for bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits.
without biscuits, what do you cover in sausage gravy???
This is why I think I have to fall on the biscuit side of things (except I make my gravy with bacon grease because I don't love sausage). I would miss toasted sandwiches, and it's not like I have biscuits and gravy all the time, but a world without biscuits and gravy is no kind of world to live in.
I think this is an unfair fight for two reasons. Besides the fact that Inforoo is heavily Southern/Southernish, we are comparing getting rid of a food completely vs getting rid of a food preparation style. If for some really odd reason this was a real issue, I would vote to get rid of toast for the greater good- why would I vote for a food to be extinct if it doesn't have to be? Unfair playing field. To make this as fair as possible, I say that we need say this is biscuit vs. bread. Bread includes the sliced variety and rolls, but would not include other bready baked goods like bagels and English muffins.

What say you?
Bread all day. Just yesterday I spent a good 15 minutes thinking about how much I love bread and how I would never want to not be eating bread.
I could give up the idea of not having hot toasted bread to save biscuits, but I cannot give up bread altogether for biscuits. No bread as described above means no sandwiches, no hamburgers. No thank you!
