SLASH FEAT. MYLES KENNEDY & THE CONSPIRATORS STONE TEMPLE PILOTS WITH CHESTER BENNINGTON BREAKING BENJAMIN • SEETHER • HALESTORM THE PRETTY RECKLESS • RIVAL SONS • COLD ROSES
Nope, and that's another reason. I wanna see them before J. Mascis decides to call it quits.
Good idea, I saw them back on like 2006 or so and it was great. I got to stage dive and it was a blast. A mosh pit broke out at one point a cd they stopped the show and told them to cut it out, it was kinda funny to see actually
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Weren't you like 10 in 2006?!
I was 12, thank you very much. It's been briefly discussed a time or two in random threads, but I fortunately skipped the period of my life that most people have where they listen to music that is popular with their age group at the time that they realize was awful later on in life when they find music that is actually good. This was because I grew up being big in the skateboard industry, so I hung out with kids that were/are 6-10 years older than me which caused me to be very different from most kids socially. (My best/oldest/closest friend turned 30 a few months ago.)
So, the same thing happened with the shows I attended. I don't have any shows that I went to when I was young that I'm embarrassed to admit I attended. My first show was Andrew W.K. opening for Flogging Molly in 2001 and after that I just went to a bunch of punk/indie rock shows with my dad until going to Dino Jr. And then De La Soul the next year. I always went with my dad and the older friends that I skated with because no one my age knew the groups I wanted to see.

Haha, oh my bad, but yeah, it made it really easy to stage dive because everyone gets really excited when a kid gets on stage/stage dives at shows that generally have older crowds because everyone is surprised by it. Like the W.K./Flogging Molly show, I stage dove at that one as well. It was right before Party Hard got really popular and I actually sang the chorus of Party Hard with W.K. and then got hoisted by Andrew onto one of the speaker stacks and he told me to stage dive off it, so I obviously did it. It will forever be one of my favorite memories.
Related to this, a couple weeks I was at an Agnostic Front show and a little kid stage dove (dived?) and I was really surprised because agnostic show are pretty dangerous for grown men, but I was happy to find that everyone in the pit stopped moshing and cheered for the kid and they floated him over the entire crowd, it was awesome.

That has to be the coolest first concert story I've ever heard!
Related to mosh pits, it is nice to see the people in them care for others. Anytime I'm around one, if someone falls, everyone IMMEDIATELY does their best to pick them up and get them on their feet again. Then proceed to slam into them again Just nice to see that even when people are letting out aggression, they can still care for others.

"Listen, you guys in the front here, keep an eye out for each other alright? If you see someone going down help him out, alright? That what's we are here to do! Help Each Other Out!" - Tom Araya No one gets it more then these guys do.

I've never been in a mosh pit at Bonnaroo before, but that's going to change when Slayer decimates us. When Angel of Death plays, I expect half the crowd to just devolve into a giant pit.

That is one of my favorite concert experiences. And yeah, I've been to several shows with mosh pits where nobody looked out for each other and it was shitty. A girl that was with me went down in a mosh pit at a Gogol Bordello show several weeks and I nearly had a panic attack because it was pretty crazy but she was back on her feet before I could even take two steps forward her to help and it made me have the biggest smile because it reminded me that not everyone sucks (which can be easy to forget nowadays) and, ironically enough, I had to go to punk show and get punched and pushed and shoved by strangers to find some people who are looking out for each other

Oh.... But then... Raining Blood is gonna start and the half of the crowd not moshing is going to get in the pit too

Anyone else going to the Smashing Pumpkins/Manson tour this summmer?
Hell yea, got GA tix to the nola show! So excited. Great follow up tour to last year's 90's NIN/Soundgarden spectacular.
Gonna try for Faith No More ATL tix too.
Haha I was saying the same thing! NIN/Soundgarden was the best show I saw last summer, I anticipate this tour will be the same! I'm even more excited now that they said they might close these shows with a joint performance of "Eye."
Faith No More with Refused is such a good lineup too. I might go to the MSG show.

Whoa, just noticed that. I hope that happens, I will lose my shit! Always been one of my fav Pumpkins songs since it came out.
I think Adore was criminally underrated. Check out live recordings from that era. My first ever record store bootleg purchase was Atlanta Transmissions 8/4/98. The band is fairly large with like 4 xtra touring musicians (and Kenny Arnoff on drums right after Jimmy got kicked out after the Melvoin incident). The older songs have new arrangements which are killer.

I'm gonna tell him you said that, and I bet he won't let you in tomorrow night. Ticket NULLIFIED.
That we are not. You're the one who is supposed to be adding people. Not me. Watching people freak out about shows is always fun. I wasn't jealous of Jaz's Mumford adventure at all, but I was excited seeing that he was excited.
Also, getting him banned for a Sufjan show would be the funniest thing ever.
We aren't currently snap friends I thought you got scared off/disenchanted by the b00b convo a few days ago in the snapchat thread.

This is what makes you slightly less terrible than you could be. And yes, that would be absolutely hilarious.
