I'm really crossing my fingers that the music is halfway decent there after experiencing how terribly dead it is in Indianapolis. Luckily, it's close enough to Atlanta that I can drive back home on the weekends when I get a chance. Custeph, please do let me know what your Charleston friend says.

Wait. Was that you in glasses in the back right near the bar, wearing maroon/purple?
Edit: I'm 99% sure that was you. We stood next to each other during Public and then I went to the bathroom right before WtM came on. I was wearing a purple shirt and white pants. That's crazy; such a small world! I'm going to Alt-J next Friday if you want to join - always good to be in the company of fellow Inforoosters. =)

That was definitely me. I thought you looked familiar, but i felt creepy going, "hey, I think I know you from the internet." OH MAN. If this ever happens again, I swear I will say hi. I would love to go to alt-j but I have to work

Haha yea - I'd have found it funny, but if I were in your shoes I probably wouldn't make that my opening line either. Regardless, we are officially best friends now and you should prepare to be invited to a lot of shows.

Sounds legit. For realsies though, I got to a lot of shows and usually by myself so if you ever need a buddy hit me up!
I have never been to a show in Charleston, believe it or not... I always heard it was a good place for shows, but very few things have even gone through there that have excited me, or at least that I know of. I've seen a few shows in Myrtle Beach, and the majority of what I see in Columbia are friend's bands... for a town that prides itself on its long standing music scene, there really isn't shit happening in Columbia. Most of the shows I'm going to lately are in Charlotte, or even Asheville, and Atlanta once in a blue moon. SC as a whole is pretty dry as far as concerts go, it's just lucky to be surrounded by GA and NC.

Huge shake-up to the Skinny Puppy/Haujobb/Youth Code tour that starts in a few weeks... VNV Nation abruptly quit the tour and posted vague reasoning on Facebook. In very short time, Skinny Puppy reached out to Bill Leeb's Front Line Assembly, and they are now taking VNV's spot on the tour. Bill Leeb used to be with Skinny Puppy in the original days, and hasn't been on tour with them since 85... so, this is huge news to fans. While personally I was looking forward to seeing VNV again live, they admittedly didn't quite fit with the rest of the lineup, and while I've never been a big FLA fan at all, this is really something special and I'm actually glad VNV dropped because of how special and more appropriate it seems. Also, with VNV Nation went the old tour name and artwork, now we've got the amazing Allen Jaeger designing the posters for this tour.

Tonight I will see Lake Street Dive in Baltimore at Rams Head Live. Parker Millsap is opening. Just saw him two nights ago at Gypsy Sally's in Georgetown in DC. I really want to see Lake Street Dive and to have Parker open for them is an added bonus for me.

Hmm, Jack White is returning from his European tour to play Saturday and Sunday, January 24 and 25 at the Austin Music Hall. I may have to check this out. He then goes on to play Nashville on the 28th and Madison Square Garden on the 30th.

With the absence of Virgin Festival this year, I may do this. $75 for a DC trip on the 4th of July.
Plus: Baracuda!
If the Foo Fighters don't play Roo I am going to try to do this. With my brother in Richmond and plenty of friends in NoVA I would be dumb not to. My family usually throws a big cookout on the 4th, but I would skip for that.
