Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo in 2013!!
Each Tipi can house up to 6 adults. In 2011 Tipis will cost £900 to hire (Festival tickets not included). This year Tipis will come complete with a groundsheet and rain catcher, but you will need your own bedding, camping equipment, etc, and any necessary creature comforts. Tipi dwelling is an incredible and elemental experience, but not a luxury one.
I need 3 more folks. Applications will be forthcoming.
i didnt realize they have cots - and the actual GB site specifies 6 people... strange. are there two varieties of these bad boys?
druid - if vicki and i go, can we be in your tent?
booo if you guys pass her application process then me and my yet to be determined bed warmer cant!
i think theyre actual inflatable beds or real beds since they have duvets and everything. this is what really makes me want to do these instead of the 6 person glastonbury ones. actual bedding and 'beds' makes suuuch a huge difference.
i am definitely in for a tipi. i just need to figure out who i'm going with. even if i cant convince anyone i WILL go

Did the math, its 668 GPB or $1083 for the fancy dancy teepee (what's with the i's?) if split 4 ways... (plus taxes, i'd guess another $100).
so almost double the original price of a 6 man, but you get to be in the secluded section and have fancy porto's... hrm. sleep on the ground and get rained on or sleep in this thing on a proper bed.

decision, decisions.
exactly. especially with so much time to plan for it. its 2013. def enough time to do it right.
I was gonna post this earlier and the window was open when i noticed that they fell through on their commitment to Glastonbury and kept 3000 peoples money.

Alright, registration is a go! I have spent the good portion of my day off looking into this. I've always said I was gonna go one year and 2013 looks like it.
I definitely think I'll be renting one of their facilities, be it tent, yurt, tipi, or tiny little closet-like dwelling. I can't imagine trying to bring my own stuff.
It would be magical if we could get 14 people together and just rent that house listed at the bottom of the Glastonbury "other accommodations" page.
I just need to write some figures down because I would like to be sort of comfortable(dry when it rains), but I also don't want to spend so much money on my dwelling that I can't do other things while in UK.
I will definitely have to get registered soon. With 2012 being an off year, i guess the ticketing could start next march or april.
A question on the ticketing for those who know:
You initially have to reserve your ticket, and put a 50EUR deposit on each ticket, right? Do you reserve a Teepee at this point to? Or does that come later?
Nevermind, found it right on their webpage, details are as followed (with dates for 2011):
October 3rd, 2010 - You may begin to book tickets for 2011 April 1st, 2011 - The ticket booking site reopens, and you have one week to pay the balance for your ticket order, now is when you book a teepee, caravan pass, parking pass, etc
So, if 2013 follows this pattern, you will have to be registered by late sept 2012, and will have to book your ticket(s) in early october 2012. Now, in spring of 2013, the ticket booking site reopens, and you have to pay your balance, and take place in the mad dash to book a teepee. Also around this time, you will have to be booking a hotel room and airfare (I think leaving the US Monday, and leaving the UK Tuesday would be the most hassle / stress free way to go.)

^^I think that all sounds about right. Although they might change it up drastically due to the 2012 hiatus.(I hope they don't) Hell, look at roo, no hiatus in sight but they are selling tickets already.
They all clearly like to keep us on our toes...
I think I am going to take an extra week while I am there and just pop up to Scotland for a little while before coming home though.

So roughly 10,000 pounds for the long weekend? See that seems more feasible to me when you are splitting it with 13 other people, especially for all the modern conveniences of a home. Looking at the map it doesn't seem to be too much further than the yurt camp. It is right on the edge
Camp Kerala is just too pricey for my blood. It looks AMAZING but I just can't justify 8,000 pounds for two people. Maybe once I get my fancy grown up job and can actually use this Masters degree I will roll in style like that! haha
I know, right?!?! I wish they listed prices for that weekend though.
5,000 pounds for 2 nights during the peak times like Glastonbury.
Damn Straight!
If I win the lottery, I will take myself + my 10 favorite peoples on inforoo to Glastobury in style... though I think I have a better chance of seeing elvis
if the price is comparable to this years then it looks like maybe a little under 6k pounds a night. sounds like a lot but if you split it with 14 people its not that bad.
A word of advice for those interested in flying with camping gear. In preparation for Bonnaroo 2006, I searched the internet for tips on backpacking. The first thing I came across was Lucid's Backpack Guide. I used the guide and made a moderate investment in good quality and lightweight camping gear to fly into Roo. Since then, I've gained the confindence to fly into multiple large American camping festivals including Bonnaroo, Sasquatch, Rothbury, and Coachella. I can fit all of my gear, clothing, and essentials in a bag that weighs well under 50 lbs.
That being said, those tipi's look pretty cozy and convenient. Plus, as it's been mentioned, It would be kind of a pain in the butt to lug all of that gear to other destinations in Europe. But for folks just going to England or doing a small side trip to Amsterdam for example, lightweight backpacking gear is the way to go.
