Someone said earlier the fastest sellout was about three weeks. The pre-sale tickets were gone in about an hour this year as I recall. But it was the same way last year and took months to sell out. I would think people have lots of time to buy a ticket, but who knows. The festival scene seems to be exploding in America.
Looking at the Coachella double weekend sell out, that might mean a lot for festivals in this country. Not that Roo would sell out that quick due to the weather and it not being near a huge metro like Los Angeles. But still, I kind of think what happened with Coachella might be the biggest demonstration of how powerful the festival scene is becoming. It'll be interesting the next few years to see how festivals and festival culture evolves from this point forward.
I am guessing that Roo has a fairly high turnover rate from year to year with attendees due to how grueling the conditions are. I brought my sister with for her first Roo last year. She thought it was really cool and saw a ton of great shows, but it was just too physically demanding for her. She told me this year she is going to do Sasquatch with me instead. Got a taste for festivals, but Roo was an overload. Purely guessing, I think Roo has a higher percentage of new attendees every year than something like Coachella. None of this matters as I bought my ticket during pre-sale.
See y'all in the pit for Radiohead! OK Computer and Odelay were my gateways as a teen growing up on a farm in rural North Dakota for all the music I love today. I didn't even get to see my first show until I was nineteen. Now I've seen Beck, and this Radiohead show is going to mean a lot to me because of how their albums shaped my music tastes. Pretty damn excited.

Ooooo Weeee!!!! The pieces are starting to line up so nicely.
This could be just the fevered rambling of someone BLOWN AWAY by today's Insider post, but...
Imagine if NY/CH still got booked, and Eddie Vedder solo, as well. Atoms for Peace is almost its own type of Superjam, and there's already at least a level chance we'll get that.
The idea of a separate, full-blown Superjam incl. Neil, EV, ?uest, friggin' Robert Randolph, Trey or Claypool even, is just mind-melting. It's a snowflake's chance at best, and I'm not getting my hopes up. But stranger things have happened.
Like Billy Cundiff missing a game-tying 32 yd FG last SUN.

I don't want to be a party pooper, and hopefully this has already been ruled out, but what about Rat Dog being the "headliner"? That would just be mean of Insider though, and that would be out of character.

i thought she said R, vowel, D. which pretty much leaves... RHCP, Radiohead, Rodrigo y whatever, and Rod Stewart. those last two would be a major let down as headliners.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts

If Saturday, as some say is Radiohead, who opens for them? Lots of people think RHCP will be Friday HL, but I see RHCP --> Radiohead on Saturday. Thats why Insider said, "loosely." She always considered the top 6 as headliners. MMJ wasn't technically a HL, but kind of were and opened for AF last year. I still think Friday is an unknown HL as some others have said. I know its not popular thinking, but RHCP could be #4. Maybe not likely, but possible.
If Kings of Leon are headliner material, pretty sure RHCP are as well. RHCP in the Arcade Fire/Phish '09 spot on Friday, Radiohead unopposed on Saturday and Phish Sunday. Throw in something like the Roots vs. Beach Boys on Friday, a la Beastie Boys vs. David Byrne.

She said "bands". Rod Stewart wouldn't qualify. R y G would never make it on first two lines of a lineup. There are no other legitimate choices but those two.
