Back to Chicago argument, United Center holds 23,000 people for a concert, First Midwest Amphitheater hold 28,000. Also First Midwest is in the suburbs (Tinley Park) and is an outdoor venue. I'm going to throw in the towel and say I think we are getting Radiohead for a headliner, and that schedule looks pretty real. You guys win.
Lack of a venue, however, is a legit reason not play there if they arnt doing a stadium. This is true. I'm not familiar with Detroit's venue situation.
there is only one amp big enough for RH to play. they specifically haven't been back because this amp has too many corporate logos surrounding the stage.
I saw them at the Molson Amp in Toronto for In Rainbows and the venue worked out great I thought. Having seen them previously at Skydome/Rogers Centre I must say I liked them better outdoors.

The Palace, Ford Field, and Joe Louis Arena are all big enough. The Palace has covered up sponserships many times in the past and JLA doesnt have a ton of sponsorships when set up for a concert I dont believe. That being said none of them are great. Drastic decline in seats to go to the Fox theatre.
I think that schedule is faker than fake, but people who are like "lolz ampitheaters are smaller than arenas thats stupid" are wrong. Most "amphitheaters" have the "indoor section," which only holds some 8-10K, but then a huge lawn that holds anywhere up to some 20K more. Unless you're talking "stadiums," the biggest indoor arenas are smaller than most amphitheaters.

I actually don't mind the palace as a venue. my favorite tool show was there. i think this string of arena dates makes it possible for them to play, but i don't know if they can sell the palace out.
i suppose all those venues listed look legit but wouldn't they have more dates than that? it barely covers a two week period. i'm not familiar with all of those venues. the place in indy is what a lot of us probably refer to as deer creek. last time radiohead did a summer amphitheater tour they played there. i believe it holds 25,000 or so. it's not like every time radiohead does a tour they have to play venues that bring in 50-100,000 people. so i'd say i believe these dates and would expect more to come after that. unless they're going back over to europe for some of those festivals, than it completely makes sense.
They would sell the palace out easily, they just have something against playing michigan. I remember in 2008 they did not play michigan and that news got enough attention to where it was in the papers around here and i had to get tickets to the ohio date and had to drive 5 hours to see them and most of the people i met at the show were from detroit. On top of that i personally knew a group of 25 people from metro detroit who went to the same show.
You can still use Wiki if you hit Esc. as soon as the page loads (before it goes "black").
And the 2010 census put the NYC Metro Area at over 22 million people. People tend not to leave the NYC Metro Area at a greater rate than they come there, so I'll stick with my approx. 23 million figure.
It probably also matters what people are defining the "Greater NYC Metro Area" as.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
MC, stop squee-ing all over fake tourdates on At Ease. Come on man, you're better than that.
Why are you convinced they are fake? If anything I think they are more real than fake. The locations and dates look realistic and none of those venues have conflicts for the dates listed.

Care to scroll back a few pages there, chief?
Plenty of reasons why this is not real, just go and read the ones posted within the past hour.

I'll say again that the kid who posted these dates has twenty posts and this is his only post within the last like 6 months. I really don't think he has any info that we don't.

I read all the previous posts, seems to be a bunch of posts about them playing wrong sized venues and not playing Detroit.
I don't think one of the more telling signs that it could be fake has been raised - this fake schedule has the First Midwest Bank AmphitheatRE spelled wrong.

How many posts does Insider have? Guess you have to start earning credibility at some point.

That actually makes it sound more legit. I mean, look at insider's post count.

Insider has like 95 awesome points, that dude has -16.
If he was as "legit" as Insider, people probably wouldn't do that.

He probably found them on another forum/message board.

Has the poster on the Radiohead boards predicted things like this for the past few years?
