Insider said she'd give us 2 "prime time" slots per day. That doesn't mean headliner or biggest acts those days. If Massive Attack plays LN Which on Saturday they'll be a bigger draw than Black Keys as the pre-HL for whoever the Saturday headliner is. There'll probably be a big Sunday Which closer ala White Stripes/Phoenix on Sunday (probably the Strokes, maybe Death Cab) that rivals or is bigger than Robert Plant.
Can we move this from "Is it Eminem" to "whether or not Dre will be with him"? Obviously it's been discussed but at least it's a more sane topic. What are the chances he's solo vs. him coming with Dre?
Raekwon - valid Jay Z - valid KRS One - valid Q Tip - valid DMC - valid Rakim - valid Mos Def - valid Talib Kweli - valid Chuck D - valid Black Thought - valid Kanye West - LOL The Game - LOL!
before i continue reading thread i just have to comment on this.
I used to be the biggest Kanye hater out there. he never did it for me, never got the hype, didnt like the idea of him playing Roo, wasnt planning on missing a minute of Phil, randomly decided to go check out his set and we all know what happened. Then i heard MBDTF and all bets were off. i delved deeper into his catalog and career only to find out not only is this dude is as legit as it comes as far as music production, he has had as big of an influence on hip-hop as anyone in the history of the genre
i was dead wrong about this dude from day one and eat crow every day when i get one of his songs stuck in my head.
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

i wish they would change that Leno already. i like Conan a lot but shit, Jay Leno is a hilarious quacking dude. whats the issue?
Everybody's all butthurt that Jay "stole" the Tonight Show back from Conan, when it was an executive decision by NBC and Jay was simply caught in a shitty contract.

I think if we get one, we'll get the other, as well as a bunch of other friends. Just a feeling though, nothing to back it up, as far as evidence.
The reason I feel that way is because I read a article last night where Snoop was talking about Detox, and how amazing it is. He said something to the effect of "It's got a lot of heat on it, and it's coming. Right around the corner."
Hahahaha holy crap who smited me FIVE TIMES in the past like, 20 hours? Immature. :-(
I agree, I opted out because it's the stupidest thing ever. You would think that regardless of what your opinion is, as long as you are respectful, make good points, and have valid arguments, people would respect your opinion. HAHAHAHAHAHA. People on here hate you just because you have an opinion sometimes. Ignorance.
I'll tell you guys this, having seen Jay four times, Kanye three times, and Eminem three times
Jay-Z showed you last year how great a rap show can truly be.
Kanye is right there with him when it comes to performance.
but if you're simply a fan of quality live music, Eminem will leave you disappointed without question.
Again, be careful what you wish for. Whether you know it or not you'd be more satisfied with it being Kanye than you would if it were Eminem. Trust me.

I seen Jay-Z and Eminem last year at Yankee Stadium...Jay-Z like always was fantastic. I was a little worried that Em would not be anywhere close to the Jay performance. But let me tell you he rocked the whole stadium....Roo would be lucky to get him and/or Dre (He was there to for a cameo) for the hip-hop headliner

I agree with this. I've seen Jay-Z twice (Coachella, All Points West) and Kanye once (Lolla 2008). Kanye was actually the best show and near the top of my "all time" list. I didn't go in with high expectations, but our group thought it was the best of Lolla that year (and RATM and Radiohead were the other two headliners).

I can't argue that Kanye is a great performer and gives a good live show. It was probably just a "sh!t happens" moment at his Roo show in 08, but that's exactly the reason people on these message boards are so upset at him. A lot of us sat and camped out for that show thinking it was going to be near the top of our "all time" list, and ended up getting something much more half-assed.
Is he capable of giving Bonnaroo a good show if he comes back? Yes, at least in my mind, there is no question about that. But if he was stupid enough to come back, he would never get the chance because some joker would undoubtedly throw something at him.
