I have been racking my brain about possible Headliners and I keep coming back to the same three: Lil Wayne and his Young Money crew (Although it is believed he has been ruled out), Eminem, and/or Dr. Dre. Outkast is not happening and Big Boi is already there. Gorillaz broke up, Beasties may never perform live again, ATCQ is not big enough to headline and Wu Tang probably isn't either. Public Enemy, might be too soon and I see no reason why they would be placed any higher on the bill than they were last time.
Insider said no to Kanye, Jay-Z was just last year, and BEP really cannot be considered straight rap or hip hop. And after the Super Bowl, I hope everyone has lost interest in having them at Bonnaroo.

I'd like to add that I just saw Lauryn Hill this week, and it was shiz. Please god don't bring her to Bonnaroo. She was an hour and a half late, her songs were unrecognizable, and she yelled at the sound guys to turn everyone up all night so it sounded terrible, and she was biznatchy at her band members.

I have only heard terrible things about her live show recently. People keep saying her voice is still there but that she is always late and there always seems to be a technical issue. And I don't like that she has messed with her songs either.
The only reason I'm still holding out the tiniest bit of hope for the 'Kast is because Insider didn't deny them, and they were mentioned pretty early after she brought up the unfinalized Saturday hip hop act. Not expecting/counting on it but I can't see Dre or Eminem taking that long to finalize a deal, to me it would make more sense if it was an act that hasn't toured in awhile. Maybe not Outkast, but I'm not convinced on the Em/Dre front.
I would like to also thank Insider for the info, and I am definitely NOT looking a gift-horse in the mouth.... But instead of the Saturday headliner, can we just get an idea of when the lineup will come out and tix go onsale? Im ready for that shiny new Lineup Poster, and some new headlines on the Bonnaroo site.
'11 Wishlist ------------------ Paul McCartney Prince Arcade Fire (YES!) My Morning Jacket (YES!) Black Keys (YES!) Deerhunter Fleet Foxes Kanye (I said it.. and bring Bon Iver) Beach House Sufjan Stevens Animal Collective Wilco Broken Social Scene Junip
So I sent an email to Bonnaroo about the lineup and any info they could provide. Here's the response. Nothing we didn't know already, but at least it's a response and we know they're working on it.
Hi Ben, The line-up will be announced VERY soon, we can assure you that. We can't announce the official date, but it will be very soon. Stay tuned to www.bonnaroo.com for the latest updates!
anyone mention diddy? he came out with a new album in december.
i think someone did mention it already, but no one really said anything about it. it seems like a very realistic option, and one that i could totally get behind. the new album is very, very good and it would make for a great late night set.

Twas me ;D , that is who it is most likely to be. Eminem and BEP are not bonnaroo material at all. Like at all. Kanye/snoop/Jay= run rap. People would be really upset for either one I believe.
Diddy could also be holding things up, cause he is kind of a pompus ass. But I like him. Maybe he does not want more problems.
Also he can not sing a song by himself, so that may be a problem.
I don't know about all this hip hop HL who's not confirmed yet business, Gary tweeted on 2/4...
Gary Chardonnay The 2nd one. Definitely. RT @tylercarter24: is the reason you haven't given a lineup release date bc you aren't done? you like torturing us?
On one hand, I know he's not gonna come right out and tell us if they weren't done, but I'm also not going to call the man a liar. He had the option not to respond, which is what I imagine he would have done if they really were scrambling. I have a feeling that the whole leaked lineup is bunk... I'm at least keeping my fingers crossed!
Edit: maybe not the WHOLE leaked lineup, but some/most/whether or not they're actually HL's.

I loved Busta in the 90s. Back when I thought the faster someone could rap, the better. Not that I don't like him now, but I don't think I've heard him in 10 years.
