I just think if we are talking... mmj, arcade fire, robert plant & wsp then we are going to have a pop friendly headliner saturday that will draw in the big ticket sales. neil young wont do that unfortunately. i thought if he was there he would either be friday or sunday
"It's hard to say whether seeing Kellz backed by Jim James and his lion's mane hairdo or Billy Idol rocking out next to John Oates and his soul patch was weirder to watch. Let's just say both were beautifully bizarre sights to behold."
I'm just saying that Bonnaroo is missing that act that usually draws in the randoms to the festival. As much as I love some of the headliners right now, if I told a friend to join me, there's a good chance that they couldn't name one song from any of the 4 headlining acts we have right now (assuming that we don't count Zeppelin songs under Plant).
It's not that that's a bad thing, it's just that Bonnaroo has recently embraced the mainstream crowd recently with acts like KOL, DMB, Jay Z, Pearl Jam, Metallica, Bruce Springsteen, Jack Johnson, Nine Inch Nails, Kanye West, Beastie Boys, etc.
and this is exactly why i'm expecting u2 and/or black eyed peas
BEP is well subpar to all those artists mentioned.

Wow, I would like to take this time to personally apoligize to Alex aka Ollo for doubting Robyn on Sunday so heavily. I guess he knew something we didnt. Never thought she would make it up from FL so quick. I'm REALLY excited about this though!

I think AF is our pop headliner. Saturday is probably going to be a "classic" act, i.e. The Rolling Stones, Paul Simon, The Eagles, etc.
Despite disliking both, Robert Plant and WSP closing out Sunday is actually good news. I wanted to start driving back to Toronto Sunday night, hoping to be back for work Monday morning. Now I know there is nothing worthwhile to stick around for so I can hit the road early. I'm pretty relieved, plus many roosters will be excited for those two acts. Everyone wins!
