a Kanye/Jay-z Watch The Throne supporting tour would be amazing........... and Jay-z being there would make me believe it would start at a reasonable hour
Boy, you guys are much farther off this year on your guesses than usual. First of all jakicker is right that even now, we are still waiting for 100% confirm on one of the headliners. Also, this girl you guys have been about - she knows nothing.
So before I start my annual tease, please look up my past years posts before anyone questions my credibility.
Now - where do we start.......
OK, how about with the one that everyone seems to assume - let's start by checking off Arcade Fire - you can consider them a confirm for Friday night......
After that, I'm sorry to say that most of the speculation on here is way off.....
Start thinking less about big name headliners...........

best case scenario top 10
The Rolling Stones * OutKast * Widespread Panic * Arcade Fire * My Morning Jacket * The Strokes * Massive Attack * Robert Plant & the Band of Joy * String Cheese Incident * Ben Harper & Relentless7
Paul Simon would be a huge letdown. I hope he's a Sunday Pre HL.
Him and his band do put on huge performances worthy of a headliner spot. I don't think he'd be any worse than Stevie Wonder in a prime headliner spot. With that said, it would only be possible if he was followed by a late night big name headlining act.
Arcade Fire will likely get a longer set then some other festivals. Also, it's the first time they are playing Roo and it will be amazing to see them and MMJ in the same night.
WSP already happened, that's true but like others said - it's their 25th year and it's roo's 10th year and even tho I'm not a huge fan i'm not upset by this.
Plant happened with Allison Krauss......the band of joy stuff is different so I don't see how you can act like they're the same.
To each their own, friend. For 300 dollars, I expect a bit of rare acts, or a combination of acts that merit that much money. Having seen Arcade Fire around the time of Funeral and being they will be touring for decades, they are not a huge draw for me. Not a turn off, but not something that sells me.
WSP headlines smaller fests and even with the history side, they are a weak Sunday headliner. As for Robert Plant, I respect the Leno out of the man, but it is like seeing Bob Dylan these days; he is a shell of his former self.
Again, this is my complete subjective take on the "line up". The Massive Attack, Black Star, and other rumors still have my hopes high. I'll take a step back and just hope for the best.
Well I for one completely agree with you mate, and am also hoping for the best. A great undercard can always make Roo, though, as all bands aside, it is such an amazing venue and brings the best out of everyone, even the bands you don't like. I hope I rock my brain out at Arcade Fire and walk away with a tshirt I improv the next day.

that was before she gave us any names though... i think she was just saying "think smaller names overall" towards the people who think were gonna get a Bowie-type act every night, i dont think she necessarily meant we won't get a "BIG" name at all
im actually thinking more along the lines of say.... John Mayer ---> Muse? based off summer John Mayer/KOL tour rumors or perhaps Muse --> Gaga based off of them performing together at the grammys
"It's hard to say whether seeing Kellz backed by Jim James and his lion's mane hairdo or Billy Idol rocking out next to John Oates and his soul patch was weirder to watch. Let's just say both were beautifully bizarre sights to behold."
The Rolling Stones * OutKast * Widespread Panic * Arcade Fire * My Morning Jacket * The Strokes * Massive Attack * Robert Plant & the Band of Joy * String Cheese Incident * Ben Harper & Relentless7
I'd be very happy with that lineup. If we're talking best case scenarios I think a Phish could be put in place of SCI, Stones, or Outkast. Like people before me have said, they will be in the area and Trey has been to the farm many times. Seems appropriate he'd be there for the tenth. And I think Phish respects the "don't expect huge names" rule since we *were* talking about the Stones, U2, Daft Punk, and Radiohead. But don't get me wrong, Phish are my heart.
