I haven’t played Xbox in like 3 years. Can someone tell me what games I should buy? Doesn’t have to be extremely new since I haven’t really played anything
I'd suggest looking into one of the free/cheap subs to xbox gamepass (it's like netflix for video games) and having a ball. I think you should be able to get the first month for a dollar. Then looking for game pass deals on slickdeals if you like it.
Games on game pass worth a shot. Witcher, The Outerworlds, Ori, Fable, Grand Theft Auto 5, Hollow Knight....and whatever else that looks interesting.

It's $1 for three months rn I believe.
If you've never played many of the Rare games Rare Replay is also worth the money.
got Persona 5 Royal in the mail on friday and already put 20 hours in it. so goddamn addicting
I'm playing through regular p5 rn and I can't get super into it. I also have about 20 hours. What's keeping you into it? I genuinely want to like the game and continue playing but nothing has really pulled me in

Most things about the game really. I've loved turn based rpgs since i was 5 and this is probably the best one I've played. The combat system is very deep and flows so well. Also love the social sim aspect of the game too. I mean if it's not your thing it's not your thing but I love it. I will say though the writing can be kind of weak at times and the story is a bit of a drag at first. But i still love it despite the flaws. I was about 80 hours into the original but my old ps4 died so i decided to just wait until Royal came out.

Alright i think I'll probably put some more time into it. I like a lot of what it's offering but the story hasn't picked up yet so I think that's what it is

Seems like an appropriate time for a replay, what with the sequel coming out and all.
I played through the PS3 one three times when it came out. Did about halfway on PS4 remastered one but plan to finish it up and check out bonus content that came with that version before the new one drops.
Otherwise I'm making good right now while I am home all the time on all the games I've meant to play over past couple years. Did the Resident Evil 2 remaster first and now into latest God of War . Next up will probably pick back up where I left off on Red Dead Redemption 2 or maybe start over fresh since I was only on like chapter 2 or 3 anyhow. First game I was playing this year was Final Fantasy XIV. I got it for Shadowbringers but started at the begininng when I learned it cost an extra 30 bucks to skip ahead. I got to around level 60 before the free new account subscription expired so may re-activate that at some point to proceed further but haven't decided about that yet.
PS4 has a Spotify app, so usually my own stuff. GTA V has good tunes, though. Usually it's FlyLo FM or Soulwax FM, but Radio Mirror Park is good, too. The Journey was the shit in IV, and I had the actual CD for the Nu Wave station from Vice City.
The last music round of our bar trivia before social distancing ramped up was songs from GTA games and my team destroyed it. Three songs from that Nu Wave station alone. Cars, Blue Monday and I Ran.
Another time it was songs from Tony Hawk games, which we also cleaned up.
So the PS spring sale is happening right now and there's a really good deal on RDRII so I'm considering buying that (the ultimate edition is on sale for $40 right now; the base game isn't on sale). I assume if I ask if it's worth it to buy it, you all will tell me it is. My main issue is that because I work a lot, it's hard for me to finish long games like that. About how long does it take to finish the main story mode?
Also, are there any other games that other people have seen on sale that are worth getting? As you might guess, I'm kind of looking for shorter, easier ones; Sonic Forces was one of the free PS4 games last month for PS Plus and it was a thrill to beat that in like five hours. Neither one is on sale, but I'm thinking about picking up Hollow Knight since I've never played it and also maaaybe Untitled Goose Game although I don't really feel like dropping $20 on it.

Going through the first few pages of it, if you're looking for a shorter game I would recommend these
NFS Heat- I'm a big racing game fan and have always loved need for speed games, this one is really really nice. It's shorter story wise but the car customization is great and the worked is really fun
Outer Worlds- made by the Fallout people. It was $40 I believe and iirc the story can be finished in like under 20 hours. I haven't played it myself but as a GameStop employee I always heard some hype for it and that hype is still there. The game stays sold out at my store.
The Bioshock Collection- most bang for your buck, the Bioshock series is amazing and all the games in there aren't super long. The stories are all riveting, and Infinite is one of my favorite games of all time
Spider-man- I don't think it was on the list but it's usually only like $30-$40 anyway. Fantastic gameplay, story is super super fun and not too long. I think you could probably spend 30 hours max to complete it. But all of the DLC for the game is in the spring sale and each dlc brings like a 5-10 hour story that is just as well written as the main storyline.
All that being said, RDR2 is my favorite game of all time. It's long as hell, but 100% worth it. If you only do the main missions, you can probably finish it in like 50-60 hours. But there's a world of side missions and NPC missions that can add up to another 20-30 hours. I would recommend doing those as they're still really fun and unique. The game is set up in chapters and it does have a relatively slow pace. Even if you don't have a lot of time to play you can still put like an hour in a night and be perfectly fine. $40 is a steal for the base game imo, let alone the deluxe. The graphics are insane, the story is fucking incredible, the characters are great, the gameplay is great. I literally have 0 complaints about the game outside of it's disappointing online-which I still put like 30 hours in before I got bored. But damn when you get hired with it, you get bored with it.

I am going to try my best to avoid any and all spoilers for TLOU2. It's been one of my most anticipated games in a while and I feel bad whenever spoilers leak out ahead of time for big things like this.

Couldn't care less about TLOU2 tbh. Naughty Dog made a stealth-focused game when their stealth mechanics were bad. I'm one of those people that actively seeks out spoilers, but I won't spoil it for other people.
On a unrelated note, I think I've completely broken Skyrim in the best way.
Skyrim Update Dawnguard Hearthfire Dragonborn Unofficial SSE Patch Legacy of the Dragonborn iHarvest LCHB_HomeBase Pacifist Mini-Mods SkyUI Warzones The Great Cities JK's Skyrim The Great JK's Cities (compability patch for Great Cities/JK) Citadel OBIS Build Your Own Noble House Man Those Borders Thunderchild Sjel Blad Immersive Armors Skyrim Unbound Wintersun Growl NPC Body Remover Immersive ARmors+ High Level Enemies Heavy Armory CFTO Konahrik's Accoutrements Googles imperial Bank (the modder's screen name is googleplex) Immersive Patrols Pick Your Poison Konahrik's Privilege Trainers Galore AES Diverse Dragons Better World Map Instant Mining Perk Points for Bounties Shadow Merchant Ultimate Combat Convenient Horses Missives Apocalypse Ultimate Dragons Imperious Ordinator Sacrosanct
It should come as no surprise that some of these were not designed with the others in mind. These, um, quirks have led to me being the richest motherfucker in Skyrim.
So the Citadel has a daily income chest. It starts at 10 gold/day, but that can be increased by donating goods like stone from the Citadel's mine to the Citadel. Instant Mining picks up everything in a vein at once.
All 12,000 stone.
After some tedium, that brings my daily Citadel income to 750-1,000 gold/day. The Citadel also has a mechanic where I can get two free levels a day in any skill I desire. Nice for respec-ing mid run or putting myself over the edge to get a perk.
This brings us to Build Your Own Noble House. There are several shops you can build alongside the castle. When fully built, the castle brings in about 2,000 gold/day. It also has the two free levels mechanic. The Citadel and Noble House are less than a day's travel from each other. So that's basically four levels a day.
Then we go to Sjel Blad. Sjel Blad is a fully decked out castle with servants and companions. The servants cost 350 gold to buy and a variable amount of gold afterward for their services. Some servants are 500, some are 400 etc. These servants range from alchemists to smiths and miners, bowyers, trappers and soul gem creators. The Daywalkers are especially useful for vampire characters and vampires are OP to begin with when using Sacrosanct (ditto with Werewolves and Growl).
Each of them is worth the money, because their creations aren't tied to the character's level. This means I can walk around with a Daedric Bow and Dragonscale armor at level 7. Each servants also creates multiple items in their focus, so each proc eventually pays for itself.
But, since I do Sjel Blad last of the three, I'm already swimming in cash by the time I'm paying these servants to create shit for me.
And then I have the bank to prevent me from spending the thousands of dollars at once.
The gold is useful, though, for buying random trinkets for Legacy of the Dragonborn's full-blown museum. What I can't just buy...well, I'll have enough money and potions to tank dungeons anyway.

I gotta catch up on Assassin's Creed games. I was playing the pirate one last and own a couple more after that but haven't started. Too addicted to Red Dead Online

Prepare for a shift. Origins started it, but odyssey really cemented a shift to RPG land.
