Me and my buddy from Grand Forks North Dakota got some kick ass wizard style costumes online off buycostumes.com..should be an awesome time for a first time festival-goer!
I'm also coming from Grand Forks. It's cool to know fellow North Dakotans are going. I'm driving down with my girlfriend so just the ride itself will be an adventure. For the Lips show I'm just thinking of dumping a bunch of food coloring on my face/into my contacts, and wearing a shirt with a drawing of Jesus shooting heroin on it.
"In the darkness hundreds of glowsticks streaked the air like tracer shots in war. Giant inflatables bounced over dozens of light sabers pointed skyward. Stuffed animals impaled on sticks danced above the hot crowds, puppeted by someone just given ecstasy by a friend made seconds before."
Awesome shoes Idio!! I can't wait to see those at night!! What are those things that glow?? What a cool idea. I was thinking about making an all black suit and putting something like that on there so it looks like a stick figure at night but I can't find anything that will glow long enough:(
If you are distressed by anything external, the pain is not due to the thing itself, but to your own estimate of it; and this you have the power to revoke at any moment.
try www.glowhut.com or just look up el wire costume - they sell kits with it all attached and ready to go.
these shoes are version 2 of this idea. first year was a single color and i hadnt sorted out where to put the battery controller. and actually adhering it to the shoes were done with silicone - this year i found some clips to use with the silicone so it wasnt such a mess.
pretty much every (and believe me, i tried a lot) kind of glue does not stick to the el wire...

Totally making an Evil Panda mask from LCD Soundsystem's "Drunk Girls" video. I'm not really sure how long I'll be able to wear it during their set (even though it's late night), but I'll at least rock it during the song.

^Those shoes are sick. Good job mate.
I've got a DJ Lance costume made out of greenman material. I'm not sure if I'll be busting it out though. Anyone know how comfortable a greenman outfit (sans the face part) is amongst a big crowd? I imagine it would be really hot, regardless of it being late-night. Thoughts?

^^Good idea. Although at night, it gets pretty cool. I couldn't imagine wearing a costume during the day. But people do it. I saw a guy in a full powder blue tux last year.

not necessarily costumes but I think for friday I'll do the Jame's Murphy all white outfit (White Shirt, White Jeans, Maybe White Jacket) dress up for the LCD Show
and maybe (depending if I can put it in my car without breaking) I'll bring my Deadmau5 head for the show on Saturday

except for the possibility of rain/mud, and the fact that I'm neither into fur nor guns, these would be a good choice for late night costume, n'est-ce-pas?

Still a bit of work to go. Need to X the eyes and solder up the internal electronics to make the eyes light up by sound activation. Also waiting on a shipment of EL wire to outline the whole thing.
idio & interpolator:: amazing shoes and mau5 head!!!
i'm surprised no one has mentioned any Conan-related costumes! Masturbating Bear? Pimpbot5000? Robot on a Toilet (although that might be pretty hard to pull off...) but still! maybe a "In The Year 2000" costume would be easy...flashlights are useful anyways..haha
